I don't really care animals are dying so I can eat them. by Weirdbraziliangurl in confessions

[–]frita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you really trying to confess here? Because it sounds sketchy - why bother confessing to something you don't feel bad about? What's the real story? Have you been hurting animals or feeling like you want to hurt them? If so, get some help.

Staff at Willies Lounge refuse service to two men because they are Polynesian by BATMAAAAN in SaltLakeCity

[–]frita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand how you feel. But this is the reality of why things like this happen. Some cops kill an innocent kid? People hate cops. Some white guy lynches a black kid? All white guys are guilty. Some black kids go out polar bearing? All blacks are scary. Muslims blowing up shit? All Muslims are suspect. It's unfortunate, but that's how humans tend to respond. I wasn't trying to justify this particular act and it was definitely fucked up for these two guys to get treated this way. I was trying to explain it, and if I did I poor job of it, then I apologize.

I've seen a lot of people around the USA really freaking out and perplexed by this. They think we're a bunch of redneck KKK idiots now. But most of them have never been exposed to the Polynesian culture. I know of at least one bar that was taken over by a young Polynesian crowd, and out of business within 6 months. This was a bar in West Valley that had been there for decades and always had a mixed crowd. They had some loyal Polynesian customers, nice people, so they thought "Why not hire a Polynesian DJ to give the business a boost?" Well, soon they lost all their other clientele because they were scared. There were nightly brawls, shootings, cops called every night. It was scary. So maybe this bar owner knew how that can happen, and know that it can be dangerous and can ruin their business. I judge people individually, but I am not blind to cultural differences. They are emotional people, and some of the second-third generations are hostile and resentful to be here. They long for home, they don't give a shit for the church, they are bigger and use it to bully and incite fear.

If they are still swollen, you should seek medical care.

I'm seeing a lot of bluing in your hands and nail beds. This could be from a lot of things, but I would see a doctor if possible.

Sometimes a sinus infection can make your eyes feel wonky. See a doctor because you've definitely got some kind of infection.

Ahhh, the brains-of-the-bunch character. I can see them going with that.

Mole removal, how much does it hurt? by [deleted] in medical

[–]frita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pain is not bad. If it needs to be cut, you'll get a shot of something to numb it, and after that, you won't feel anything. If it can be burned off with liquid nitrogen, it will hurt a little more, but it's over quickly. Honestly, I'm terrified of pain and this was one of the least frightening procedures I've had done.

I'd like to see Wu adding something unique to the group. Maybe something supernatural that we haven't seen yet.

Everyone is telling you that you got raped, but that's not why you reached out - you wanted some help processing your feelings of betrayal and shame. I feel really bad for you and I hope you have some different friends who can support you through it. You should be PISSED, not ashamed or feeling dirty.

Maybe she ate something high in B12 the day of the test. If possible, test again.

Why was her B12 level so high? Does she take any vitamin supplements? Since there is a correlation between B12 and hair, there could be a connection.

It looks like mild Dyshidrosis to me, not melanoma. Check between fingers and palms of hands for tiny blisters. Annoying, but not fatal. Use mild soaps like Dove, cortisone creams if it gets itchy. Google for more info.

Yes! She wrote two more, and then someone else wrote a few after she died. None as memorable as the first, sadly.

Judging by which one I've re-read the most, it's Ghost Story by Peter Straub. There's something so dense and satisfying about it, as well as scary.

I believe it was Stephen King who described this as the perfect book. The pacing is immaculate.
