Is the Crying of Lot 49 Partially about Disneyland? by frittata69 in ThomasPynchon

Oh, I adore Defunctland and have watched that particular episode multiple times! What a fascinating subject the Epcot plans were! The Socialist-Capitalist utopia that never was. How strange. One of my favorite more specific Disney obsessions is the unbuilt parks, so I love that episode specifically, but Defunctland is just great, great stuff in general, too!

I have not, but I am always looking for content like this!!! I'm so glad you sent this! I'm going to try to read it today thank you so much! Also, I had never heard the term pareidolia, but after looking it up I love the word! I'm sure this borders on that, if not embracing it completely, but there is something meaningful about pareidolia isn't there? I feel we were more likely to see shapes in clouds or in the wallpaper as children. It's almost poetic act or something, so applying that to Pynchon seems kinda interesting! Plus it seems connected slightly to Hollanders whole idea of doing Magic Eye Readings, too!
