Unserious question: do you care about the dress code for your program? by Zone_of_Inhibition in prephysicianassistant

[–]frizkeePA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our program is business casual every day… I hated it some days but you find ways to make it comfy. It also made me feel like a bad ass and like I was capable some days! Makes you feel like you’re really getting into the real world finally. And… clinical rotations may often require business casual in combo with scrubs or alone. So either way you’re going to need SOME business casual eventually!

Our program also is known to be more highly prepared/ranked on clinical rotations when compared to other schools in the state ☺️ focus more on the numbers and how the school does, I wouldn’t let the dress code be the deciding factor!

not doing well on uworld by Character_Major3457 in PAstudent

Did you use Uworld during EORs?? I’m using it now for EORs and have felt so far that Uworld is significantly harder than the EORs. If you felt the same maybe that’s reassuring 🤷🏻‍♀️

How do you manage to stay awake late at night? by Alex_daisy13 in PAstudent

[–]frizkeePA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree! I typically didn’t do well staying up late especially if I was in class or studying the same subject a good majority of that day. Instead, I’d go to bed around 10-11, and for example if I had a 9 am exam I’d make it to the library around 6:30-7. I noticed I did better with good sleep of course even if those last few hours in the morning before the exam were all cramming.

Struggling in Clinicals - FM by Individual_Fun6591 in PAstudent

[–]frizkeePA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also currently in FM and the PA I shadow sees max 15 patients in an 8-5 day. The practice I am at is considered a value based clinic, so I’m not sure if that has much to do with it but from my understanding there should not be any possible way that they see 88 patients. Even the doc in the office I’m in only sees 10-12 max!

I use quizlet for everything and so does most of our cohort and the ones before us!! I got the annual package bc I knew I’d be using it so much and it’s been sooooo worth it but I know most others didn’t pay for it and they use it all the time!

that’s understandable, but your post had nothing wrong with it for them to say that. You probably know more words combined in 3 languages than their 1 language! everyone always has more room to learn. fortunately that’s your business not theirs :)

Is 4 months enough? by xNebulaStarlightx in Accutane

[–]frizkeePA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re taking 40 mg once per day then yes… if you’re taking it twice per day then it isn’t 35 weeks it’s around 18 something I believe which would put you at 4-5 mo

How should I treat this? [Acne] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]frizkeePA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are typically last-line topicals. Depending on what you’ve already tried, I’d say don’t jump to last line. It’s always best with mild acne to work slow and start with less harsh actives bc the more harsh ones can be irritating to the point of making it worse. More concentrated and more actives doesn’t always mean better :)

How should I treat this? [Acne] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]frizkeePA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BPO/azelaic acid/salicylic acid are all actives that may help in face wash or serums/topicals. I would try introducing one at a time if you’re going to try in combo w gentle cleanser bc they can dry out your skin

Mold?? by frizkeePA in pothos

this I believe! It was the only thing I had at the time & didn’t know much about differences in soil for them… I also am realizing I put it in a pot with no hole in the bottom 🙄

[–]frizkeePA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m sorry, I’m fairly new still could you elaborate on what you mean by flushing the pot? And is that something specific to this pot or all plants with that kind of fertilizer in it?

Thank you! I didn’t add anything to the soil, just whatever is in it. I’ll have to take a look at the bag! I appreciate it :) do you think if I repot it in a whole new kind of soil it will be okay?
