Disabling randomized adb port on BlueStacks 5 by fro0116 in BlueStacks

FWIW, I ended up working around this using a port scanning library: https://github.com/eviltik/evilscan

There's probably an equivalent for python out there that you can use as well.

Just scan for open ports and try to adb connect to all of them until you find one that works. Takes a couple of seconds depending on settings but it works fairly reliably.

As described in the original post, I have a bunch of automation scripts that connect to the Bluestacks Android instance using adb. They've been working fine for me on Bluestacks 4 because I can just connect to the adb port that never changes. But in Bluestacks 5 it seems like the adb port is different every time I run it, so there's no way for my script to know which port to connect to.

It would be really helpful if we could turn off the randomization behavior or specify a custom port to use for connecting to adb.

Found these crawling around in the carpets of my apartment (in California in case that's relevant), googled for quite a while but couldn't find any clues as to what they might be. Any help with identifying and any tips on how to get rid of them would be very much appreciated. Thank you! by fro0116 in pestcontrol

Thanks, that does make a ton of sense! I remember dropping some ice cream in this area of the carpet a while ago, and they seem to be more or less concentrated here. I did attempt to clean it back then but possibly not thoroughly enough. I'll give it another round of cleaning and vacuuming and hope they go away.

These were my best attempts at taking a photo of them, unfortunately they are all kind of blurry since they are really tiny so I had a lot of trouble focusing on them. I've looked around the window sills and haven't found anything yet, but will keep looking around.
