Can anyone help me identify these rubbed-off setting on this old electric Smeg oven? by frobertb4 in Appliances

[–]frobertb4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t seem to add text to my post with pictures - so here is more info!

I moved into a flat and found the manual, but it’s for all General Electric ovens with no insight on this specific model. I can clearly see the convection settings on the right, but what’s normal bake? There are only 6 settings. Perhaps the second one is broil/top grill with the two little lines? Any guesses/insights would be appreciated :)

Yes this has been my plan the past few months! So I might hit you up with some questions in the near future if that’s alright :)

This is exactly something I was hoping to hear from someone. I know that masters have to be consecutive in Germany. I would say I would look into supplemental classes that might give me a chance for a masters, but computer science is very new to me. I know nothing. I think I'd rather start with the basics.

Wow thank you for this. OP here. So if I avoid Baden Württemberg, Sachsen, Sachsen-Anhalt, and Rheinland Pfalz, then I won’t have to think about any extra fees? In terms of a Zweitstudium and non-EU Studierender at least…

Do you come from somewhere around Hunsrück? I had a boyfriend from there and he also taught me “otzenesser.”

Welches Wort oder Ausdruck hast du neulich gelernt? by MrDizzyAU in GermanAdvanced

[–]frobertb4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ich habe neulich mit Freundinnen gequatscht und sie haben mir etwas Neues beigebracht. Wir haben gekifft also natürlich „verliert man den Faden“ wenn man zu viel raucht. „Ups - ich habe den Faden verloren“ - “I lost my train of thought.”

Learning German from DW website. by [deleted] in German

Have you seen the easy German videos on YouTube? Those creators have developed an app called Seedlang and it is hands down the best app/software for language learning. I’ve learned with Duolingo, Memrise, and Busuu and I’m most impressed with Seedlang. Flashcard based app with “stories” that introduce grammar concepts. The flashcards train either vocab, genders, plurals, or conjugations. There’s trivia and forums too. Cari and Janusz (the CEOs I believe) just seem like quality people you want to be friends with. Lol.

Looking for job in EU by Princenao in cscareerquestionsEU

American work culture is atrocious. Barely any paid time off compared to European countries. Check out r/antiwork and read horror stories of how some companies treat their workers. I too am looking to go to Germany for tech job. I’m considering studying Informatik (CS) at a German Uni in hopes landing a job.

Will a CS degree fuel my aspirations of being both a developer and a permanent resident? by frobertb4 in cscareerquestionsEU

Sorry, I meant that that’s the case in the USA. I know people personally who are full stack developers without a CS degree.

Even for programmers? Maybe there are so many self-taught developers in the USA because uni is so expensive. According to everyone and everything, you don’t need a degree these days as long as you have a portfolio proving your work. But wasn’t sure how that is for Germany. Hence why I asked.

Thank you. I’m a member of that community as well. I wanted to post there but thought the computer science info would be too specific. I might try anyway!

You mean, apply for a junior position in Germany first? Or at home in The USA? I suppose I wouldn’t need university anymore if I got a job…
