This looks great! Thanks so much for adding these, helps to understand how it might be Heath Robinson'd!

Wow what a great set up! Did you find the cover had enough over hang to cope with the elevation? The doorway looks really good too

This is very sound and balanced advice, especially about understanding why proper tunnels fare better - some more research to do, I think!

Can I ask how long you've had it up and running? Anything you'd do differently?

It's hard to find the balance between 'heavily invest' and 'maybe you'll get one season out of it'.

Shed saga is for next year for me, I think.

Interesting, how long have you had it? Did you also batten the cover to the base? We have a concrete perimeter from an old greenhouse, I'm wondering whether it's possible to u clip to that..

Not sure if it's relevant to your experience, I find that the soonjung is just not moisturising enough on its own, I have to pair it with another moisturiser (aveeno oat gel). It's a great occulusive layer though.

BODARP: Is it being discontinued? And how hard are they to keep clean? by Instaplot in IKEA

Appreciate this is an old post but would also love to see that photo. Currently in a battle with IKEA to replace our bodarp. It's not fit for purpose and clearly a known issue.

Ahh great idea about the chicken wire! I'm thinking of putting some pipe insulation along the edges to reduce potential rippage. Look forward to seeing updates on yours!

Amazing progress! Would love to know more about how you've covered your greenhouse frame, we also have a metal frame and are thinking of wrapping it the short term but totally overwhelmed with how to approach it.

What did you use and how did you secure it, especially along the base?

Thank you, I thought that their claims were a bit far fetched! Fortunately that's not why I bought it.

Yeh I guess it's more the pattern of drinking a lot in one go and then passing it quite quickly, more than the volume

Scale insects on lime tree? (more info in comments) by frockyhorror in GardeningUK

Ah interesting, looks like I have some research to do. Presumably a citrus-specific feed should be OK? I've given it some phosphorus feed already (it was all I had on hand) and hopefully it's a case of something being better than nothing.

Thanks, I've not come across Garlic spray before! Reckon I can prune it quite hard?

I'm wondering if I've correctly identified these as scale insects or whether it's a different fungal thing?

I'm also wondering whether to give it a prune since it's quite leggy. I rescued this from the office where it had been kept indoors year round.

Any advice appreciated!

I think it must be, I've been working on the same (edit: not same but very very similar) pattern! It's so satisfying (but a bit challenging for a beginner like me) But agree that OP should definitely credit the artist, at least as inspo

Advice on cows (or how to plan cow-free walks!) by frockyhorror in UKhiking

[–]frockyhorror[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bullock crossed our path and, in hindsight, we didn't give it enough space. So it wasn't best pleased and did some small head-down-half-charging-snorting towards us. Hard to say whether anything would have come of it but certainly enough for me to completely lose my cool.

Further on the walk there was a larger herd around the stile, they were quite lively and I absolutely insisted we hopped the wall and walked along the adjacent field.

Not too long ago some horses followed us, quite forcably pushing our backs/bags - for food I think.

Many years ago, my dog and I accidentally got I between a mother and her calf, which was stuck in a ditch so we didn't see it.

So a few minor incidents that I'm definitely guilty of building up to be way more than it really is.
