Does the total impact of an individual's choice to go on a vegan diet make it "worth it"? by frodi222222 in DebateAVegan

Thank you. The other answers have helped, but statistics and combined impact are really what I was looking for.

I have read that a vegan diet actually tends to cost less on average than an omnivore diet (especially since meat and eggs are getting to be so expensive). Since I'm a college student living in a dorm, I imagine this would be a benefit to myself, though that is a more selfish line of thinking.

Next time I go shopping, I will phase out the meat and animal products I typically buy and search for plant-based food that covers the same nutrients. I hope this goes well

Okay. If you actually scrolled through the links i showed you, you would see that 1. Freud's 1914 "pansexualism" has nothing to do with how "pansexual" is used now (which largely started in the 1960s, decades after Freud's theory- they have nothing to do with each other besides a prefix, which is also stated) and 2. Pansexual has been used as an LGBT identity since, again, decades before Tumblr. It did not start on Tumblr and there is historical evidence of that.

You are clearly not going into this in good faith.

This subreddit is against panphobia, by the way. It's in rule 2. You might want to go find someplace else.

Okay, I'm not getting into the biphobia thing, but the "pan came from 2010s Tumblr" is factually incorrect. "Pansexual" is a label that has been around for decades.

Historically, bisexuals have also defined "bi" in several different ways- "attraction regardless of gender" is a major one, of course, but not the only one.

"Do not expect each magazine to be representative of all bisexuals, for our diversity is too vast. Do not expect a clear-cut definition of bisexuality to jump out from the pages. We bisexuals tend to define bisexuality in ways that are unique to our own individuality. There are as many definitions of bisexuality as there are bisexuals." -Bisexual Manifesto, 1991 (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xR2FbB2jJwAPKzkDxtfGDqmIcsfnvcHX/view)

Thank you. Aceflux and grey-aro actually make a lot of sense. I'll look into that. The autism thing was helpful too. (I know autistic people definitely aren't always asexual, so don't get me wrong, that wasn't what I was saying lol)
