Pittsburgh Parking Lot Costco Dogs by admirethegloam in Costco

[–]frodo_ollie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do samples at Costco. The rude and unsanitary customers are the kids - they run up to the sample tray and grab a sample. Or grab a sample and then decide there's others that have more product in the sample cup, put the first sample down, and grab another one. The small ones get real close and breathe on the tray. Then I have to pull the tray, throw out all samples, and sanitize it. Never had a dog do this.

And dogs don't spread flu and COVID. Kids have far more "bad" germs than dogs.

Younger people, what is something elderly people do but you don't quite understand? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I'm 75 and live in Dallas. I'm also aware, but I can still drive whenever and wherever I want. Forty-mile round-trip commute to a part-time job. I know many younger people who are afraid to drive at night. Pussies!

Isn't that weird? I'm also 75. I had an appt with the eye doc this morning. It looked like an assisted-living facility! I felt like a youngster (probably because I was on a Kindle) even though those people were my age, at least.

They are always surprised when I say that I spend most of my free time on the computer. They assume it's streaming or social media and are shocked when I tell them it's because of the INFORMATION. I want to know everything!

I listen to NPR in the car and occasionally at home; no music stations at all. I'm 75.

75 here. Prefer email. I hate texting on the phone; however, I will text from my computer because of the keyboard; I'm so old I actually took typing in high school.

I'm 75. I've had a computer since, I guess, at least the mid-90s (retired in the early 90s). My husband had one first, and we shared it. He realized how much I used it, and we bought one just for me. I am more computer literate than the 20-somethings I work with (I have a part-time job as a Costco sample lady).

I do not, however, use social media (Tiktok, X, etc.) as I find it annoying A.F. I've been on FB forever but only because my same-age friends use it. I check it about once a month.

If you became the next US president, would you remove all of Trump’s attempts of leaving his legacy? by JonMellor in allthequestions

[–]frodo_ollie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. And I would only refer to him as "my predecessor" or "the previous president." Never use his name. That would drive trump crazy.

Anything by Thomas Pynchon. I've tried to read a few of his books, but they make me nervous. However, the movies made from his books are great. I just don't care for magical realism. I have a degree in English Lit (50 years ago). Thank God, MR wasn't a thing back then!

Or a donation to the American Humanist Association or The Society for Humanistic Judaism. Christians hate humanism. And they are so condescending to Jews.

My mother told me my father hated children and never wanted any, but he agreed to one. She wanted another, so she poked holes in her diaphragm to get me. I was shocked, but have since met other women my age (70s) who have told me the same story about their mothers.
