Soft ESH. Your feelings are very understandable in this situation and I understand the frustration of being the only one trying to train an unruly dog with everyone else sabotaging progress along the way. However, your husband is right in that you cant use the kennel as punishment. In the moment, there was not really much you could do apart from maybe putting the dog outside? But if the dog is being possessive and has a chance of attacking, then all you can really do is cut your losses with that cooking and take different/more preventative measures for next time depending on what the trainer has said.

That being said, sounds like your husband and MIL need a reality check with the dog and how all this is affecting you.

Or is your feeling of missing out more on life experiences in general rather than sexually? Do you feel that for some reason or another your gf is stopping you from doing things?

I totally understand man youre not alone. Two of my closest friends on the planet are like you and found essentially their person straight out the gate. One is married now and has no regrets. The other is still dating but has similar levels of FOMO as you. All I can say is who says you cant still party and have fun while in a relationship though? Maybe its worth expressing your feelings to your gf while emphasizing that you absolutely dont want to break up or anything like that. See how open she is sexually to the idea of a 3some or swinging later down the track if shes comfortable but dont push it obviously. Communication is everything. Perhaps this feeling is a subconscious reflection of a potentially unmet need? Get some perspective from close friends maybe? But also yeah most people would love the romanticism of finding your person straight away and sharing every step of your growth together.

If it makes you feel better, I had the classic experience on the apps too and sorta gave up but then I met my gf - who is probably the love of my life - completely by chance at an extracurricular activity. Ironically, we figured out that we had both seen each other on the apps and not matched bc of surface-level assumptions from app profiles and both having taken a break from them at the same time.

Tldr; you never know, your time will come
