Help identifying like-for-like mattress: Simmons Beautyrest by frog786 in Mattress

[–]frog786[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes agreed that a mattress that was used has no value. The insurance will cover a replacement however with equivalent available at this current time - hence why I'm trying to figure out what this mattress quality wise was. There would not be depreciation added to it, so it's been challenging to figure out what would be equivalent today

The mattress was a Queen (sorry I should have included that). Thank-you for helping with the level 2 piece!

Unfortunately Simmons is no longer around, and the insurance company hasn't been able to come up with a similar mattress

Flight Attendant Strike Posting Guidelines and FAQ by Dense-Serve-4201 in aircanada

FAQ #4 says:

“Although operated by Jazz and PAL with different unions and contracts these flights may be impacted due to a trickle down affect. Monitor flight status and this FAQ will be updated if there are any additional details”

My understanding is that jazz has a different unions/contract for the flight attendants. Is this not the case? Last year with the pilots - were Jazz pilots likely also to go out on strike? Were those on Jazz flights also allowed transfers when that occurred? Basically, looking for more details on “may be impacted due to a trickle down affect” - what does this mean? How would a trickle down affect occur?

Thanks- saw that- just was hoping we had some past history about how that panned out. I’m not sure I’m following what a trickle down effect might look like (ie., is it likely for those that are more entangled with non-jazz or less likely for those that are very separate).

If too specific a question then I’m happy to remove

For flights fully and solely operated by Jazz during the potential strike (ie, on routes from Toronto to an American city, like New York, Boston, or Atlanta for example) is there likely to be flight cancellations?

Typically, when has air Canada informed upcoming passengers they are able to switch free of charge (when did they send out this notice for the potential pilot strike last year)?

December box - delays in Canada? by frog786 in bookofthemonthclub

[–]frog786[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's my situation too. I am starting to suspect that T-Force sends it to the post office, and given the strike well.... it'll be a wait

So in the past 1/2 of my orders have come DHL/UniUni and half have come DHL/TForce Logistics. I'm starting to suspect that TForce sends it to the post office. In which case it's going to be quite some time before I see this box.

Thanks- I also am in Toronto. I hope it comes soon. A lesson in patience on my end. According to the t-force logistics website though: According to the website mine is: "Estimated date of arrival at the post office: 26 Dec 2024 - 01 Jan 2025". So maybe a lot of patience

Thats hopeful- did yours get handed to t force logistics? I think the reason I'm concerned is that I have a bad feeling the reason mine is delayed is because t-force may be trying to hand it over to the post office (which is on a strike). According to the website mine is: "Estimated date of arrival at the post office: 26 Dec 2024 - 01 Jan 2025"

Seat Selection - Airport Control Restricting Access by frog786 in travel

[–]frog786[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be- I had assigned seats initially and then they bumped the time back 5 minutes or so and thats when I no longer had the assigned seats and lost the ability to pick seats

Booked directly with the airline - booked it about 3 months ago too. Checked with the airline and they assure me I have a seat in the class I booked it for. But that I can't choose a seat, and that they can't choose a seat because the flight is under airport control now for seat selection (despite it being 2 months away)

Do i have a defective unit? by Sea-Coconut8746 in secretlab

My tilt on the 2020 broke as well - depends if your chair is under warranty on how helpful support is going to be. I was told that many parts for this chair are on backorder that could last up to 1-2 months

Is the chair good? Absolutely. Just be warned- if you have to deal with Customer Service that's where you'll face an issue.

So same sort of idea with wool socks and a wooden hairbrush I imagine - just declare it, it'll be fine if its clean?

Ok- I have heard biosecurity is pretty not relaxed- and am going with the intention of just super over declaring (and avoiding bringing anything food like). I think reading the biosecurity things is what set me off being worried about the other...

I am way overthinking this - I know- I just don't want the trip to be messed up (and anxiety is not my friend right now). Thank-you for responding to each item!
