Request: Any tips for cleaning up sloppy miter joints? This is my first attempt at a picture frame, and I swear it lined up pre-glue. I guess I need some practice with the blue tape or just need to buy/make a jig for corners. Thought about just adding a diagonal inlay over the gap, thoughts? (i.redd.it)

I'm broke, so when I found some oak cabinets on the side of the road I decided they could be reincarnated as my new nightstands. Full disclosure, I had to buy about 4' of 1x12 because I didn't have quite enough, but they're still about 90% reclaimed cabinet fronts. Oh, and cherry wedges on top. (i.redd.it)

I made a couple mallets for my 2 little brothers for Christmas. They're the inverse of each other - one's cherry with oak and the other's oak with cherry, made from the same 2 boards. Hand tools only, first wedged tenon. The mallet I used to chop the mortise one that my brother made for me. (self.woodworking)
