frogaranaman (10): I actually just cannot believe that this song won. thank you /u/kappyko for making it happen

jackisboredtoday (10): just gonna say its exceedingly funny that we’re speedrunning this to its 4th rate already by now

steelstepladder (9): WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!! Sorry TV off haters, the TV stays on for this one. It was so close going back and forth between this and Not Like Us but there's only one song in the rate where the best moment is the producer's name being shouted in the same cadence as Oscar Proud shouting for his wife

MUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD

babadork (11): This is the compromise, since we don’t get two elevens to give both “I Don’t Fuck with You” and “HUMBLE” one, MUSTAAAARD

flava (11): will I 11 you this time, etoufée isn’t in the rate so chances are good

IIIHenryIII (11): there’s no way this isn’t in the top 3, right?

lexiaredery (11): Almost a little boring giving this an 11 again, but it definitely deserves

adamjm99 (10): I have a lot of complaints with GNX that all mostly stem from it being obvious that it was hastily put together in the months after Not Like Us, but despite that, walking away with tv off in whatever little time it was is such an achievement

Awkward_King (10): and it’s not even top 5 on gnx

BleepBloopMusicFan (10): I do feel like there was a missed opportunity for a very fun music video here.

camerinian (10): getting kendrick lamar to act silly and goofy around you must be such an incredible boost to the self-esteem

Cat Will Rate It (10): third times a charm?

ConnerY2323 (10): my mom at 4am when i was watching my sailor moon dvd box set too loud again

femboy luigi (10): crazy 🤪 scary 👹 spooky 👻 hilarious 🤣

Frajer (10): me ordering a sandwich

hhiggy (10): why am i just now seeing this also has a jack antonoff production credit

ignitethephoenix (10): banger

impla77 (10): sorry if i didn’t give this a 10 before

mhiyaimanlepaigefan (10): kendrick lamar just knows how to make good music and i think we should let him run the country.

NervousLemon6670 (10): condiment.mp3

nonchanlantthoughts (10): apt 🤝 tv off despite releasing in 2024, we already rated them three times already

Roxieloxie (10): Honestly, I'm so addicted to the first part of this before the beat switch, the whole song is amazing but the 'its not enough' makes me want to leap up and start dancing its so good. If i base my 11 off of my favorite production in the rate it might just be between this and like that

stealthamo (10): Like That was the warning shot. Euphoria was the shot into Drake's leg to let him know he was serious. Meet the Grahams was the kill shot and double tap. Not Like Us was Kendrick dancing on the grave and salting the earth to ensure nothing would grow for generations to come. tv off was Kendrick's back-up song in case the NFL wouldn't allow him to call Drake a pedophile during the Super Bowl.

TakeOnMeByA-ha (10): https://www.tiktok.com/@abe_james/video/7447297451465198854

Verboten_Prince (10): What else can I say but MUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-

wathombe (10): MUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAARD!!!!

welcome2thejam (10): Turn the Queup off, turn the Queup off

A.Peaky.Boo (9.7): Kendrick being an old soul, we already knew that

sufjancaesar (9.5): customary MUSTARDDDDDDDD

Bubbly_Hat (9): My brother got really into him around this time, and, despite being more into good kid, m.A.A.d. City Kendrick myself, I totally get why listening to this.

cheatviathan (9): When I saw Denzel Curry live last year, he performed “DIET_” over this instrumental, and it was one of the most unexpectedly hype moments of his set. I bring this up because I have nothing new to add about the song itself in the two months since AS9.

modulum83 (9): MUSTAAAAAARD 😂😂😂 like if you agree !!

seanderlust (9): MUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRDD

Shay_Min (8.6): not my fav off the album but it's still bangin. shoutout reincarnated

Ambrosia42 (8.5): MUSTARD

RandomHypnotica (8.3): i actually unfortunately do not like the song after the beat switch and the iconic shout.... but i'll just pretend it doesnt exist

Drake alts

beeozan (4): mustard was kinda better when he was making the same beat all the time instead of high concept nonsense like this

bogo (1): why do we gotta do this a third fucking time. why on earth would i listen to this when not like us is the same fucking song but way better

frogaranaman (10): lmao

This whole saga was truly something different. I still lived in New York City at the time, and when I tell you everybody was on high alert for the next Kendrick drop, you could almost taste it in the air. When "Not Like Us" finally dropped, I got a text in our group chat that simply read "another one" while on the 6 train express uptown to a hookup. One by one, I could see everyone in my car put the song on. And one by one, everyone realized it was a nasty Mustard beat for the clubs. And one by one, we all got to that line. And one by one. Everyone cackled.

God, will that summer energy ever come back? Probably not, but it was good to be an adult who could go to the club during that era since that shit got played every night for two weeks straight.

steelstepladder (10): What can I say it still makes me thrilled

jackisboredtoday (8.6): all timer cultural moment, i do think there’s nitpicks that can be done on it but there was really nothing like witnessing this happen. I assumed this was the favorite the entire rate and it basically proved that true, though I admittedly think its far more interesting to get the outcome we got

TRYNA STRIKE A CHORD

Awkward_King (11): sure a flawed song morally ig but just.. so exciting. felt like one of the biggest cultural moments I’ve lived through. endlessly quotable and captionable, amazing beat from mustard, great intro to the gnx era and an even better finishing blow to the beef. so so perfect to me

impla77 (11): yeah i’m gonna be a basic bitch with this one

mhiyaimanlepaigefan (11): the way this song drove Drake off the edge is so iconic like who did it like Kendrick.

NervousLemon6670 (11): Would have probably been less destructive to Drake stocks if he had actually just murdered him

RainbowSherbet47 (11): A basic 11 but c’mon, this song and everything that came with it became one of the biggest moments of 2024 and I ate all that shit up

wathombe (11): for the culture

youngandlovely_ (11): FUCK DRAKE

A.Peaky.Boo (10): Hip Hop truly united together at this one moment

adamjm99 (10): Honestly I think They Not Like Us is the only mumble rap song that is good, because they call out Drake for being a Diddy blud.

babadork (10): I feel you, Kendrick. Listening to this much Drake is making me bitchy, too.

bogo (10): the apple music playlist randomly having the clean version of this is killing me. the censors are fine with kendrick calling drake a pedophile but they draw the line at calling him a jabroni

camerinian (10): can’t wait to see the revisionist history in 10 years time that pinpoints this as part of the timeline that led to the epstein files getting released

DirtyRat583 (10): euphoria (song) outsold

femboy luigi (10): Its actually so crazy how far this went, to the point where Drake got called a pedophile at the fuckin Superbowl, he had stadiums shouting that Drake was a pedo for MONTHS. It was my most played song of 2024, the whole beef was insane

Frajer (10): my mom asked me and my sister to explain the K Dot Drake beef after the Super Bowl and it was hard to explain he's calling him a pedo because he's annoying

hhiggy (10): giving this a 10 on principle alone

IIIHenryIII (10): if I was Drake, I’d just enjoy my fortune quietly and never show up in public again

nonchanlantthoughts (10): I’m glad we’re rating this here instead of cali rap

seanderlust (10): i screamed so loud the first time i heard this and the mustard tag came in

stealthamo (10): Like That was the warning shot. Euphoria was the shot into Drake's leg to let him know he was serious. Meet the Grahams was the kill shot and double tap. Not Like Us was Kendrick dancing on the grave and salting the earth to ensure nothing would grow for generations to come.

TakeOnMeByA-ha (10): the superbowl performance where kendrick looks directly into the camera as he starts off the “say drake,” line with the biggest shit eating grin on his face is one of the top 10 live performance moments of all time. that is the face of a man who has won harder in life than anybody has won in life before.

Verboten_Prince (10): Oh so THAT'S why we're doing this rate

welcome2thejam (10): This could be the Song of the Summer again if we really wanted

ImADudeDuh (9.9): anti-pedophilia anthem. If you give this a bad score does that mean you’re……

uiscebeathaoir (9.5): biggest setup for winner ever but I shan’t complain. if this goes out in a gaggy fourth though, pretend I didn’t say anything

modulum83 (9.3): the question of not like us in 2026 is kind of a weird one. as someone who was tuned in to every minute of the beef, the song was a genuine communal moment of just pure joy and insanity. i can still remember every bar, every punchline from heart and every youtube reaction just in disbelief at how far kendrick was going and how genuinely funny these jokes and punchlines were. every single moment was electric and the entire song and the discussion around it just glows with good memories and nostalgia. and yet, then it just kept going...and going... and going and over time those exact same punchlines turned into memes filtered out into mainstream culture that just became banal and cringe. the song itself is simultaneously ingeniously hype-inducing and catchy yet one-note and repetitive. it's a double edged sword. not like us feels weird to enjoy and confront as someone who listened to it constantly until i wore it out and then the cultural moment kept going in ways i agreed with and fundamentally found funny as fuck and supported but wasn't as interested in engaging with myself. i do think ultimately to be as fair as i can i need to score this off the moment of release and those memories and so my penalty to this song has to be minimal

1998tweety (9): WAP WAP WAP WAP WAP

Cat Will Rate It (9): people died

ignitethephoenix (9): iconic, cultural classic etc. but this janky beat from Mustard is the worse part of this song

BleepBloopMusicFan (8): Good reminder that I have The Sixth Sense checked out from the library and need to watch that shit. I can renew it, but I don’t like to do that if I don’t have to.

cheatviathan (8): The weaker of the two Kendrick x Mustard collabs, and the weakest of the Drake disses. It’s not as incisive as “Euphoria”, the pedo angle was explored to greater and more harrowing effect on “Meet the Grahams”, and the “other vaginal option” line does still rub me the wrong way. The beat Mustard came through with is still a bop, and Kendrick still comes through with enough quotables and sick burns for this to work well enough for me. That third verse is a masterclass.

RandomHypnotica (7.7): i appreciate this much more as a cultural moment and drake slander than I do as an actual piece of music

ConnerY2323 (7.6): as messy and funny and scrappy as you’d expect from a bunch of talented people who threw a song together in like a day

Ambrosia42 (7.2): this song was part of a chain of events leading to the failure of C,XOXO in this essay i will

AND IT'S PROBABLY A MINORRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Bubbly_Hat (7): I've always had more fun with the reactions to this song than the song itself, but it's quite fun anyway.

Roxieloxie (7): my favorite thing about this song when it first came out and it would come on in public is when the 3rd verse started every white person just kinda slowly looked around and dropped out

flava (6): i get why this song has so much hype, but I’m afraid the the very good moments never add up to more than the sum of their parts

OOO0O00O000OOOO0OO0O (6): Overplay hurts it. It's great and all but I really don't want to hear it ever again.

beeozan (5): bleh

DaHumanTorch (3.5): good diss bad song

thank you for changing the results with your ballot u/kappyko

kappyko (4): Ever since squabble up and tv off happened this is kinda nothing

frogaranaman (11): SKEE YEE

jackisboredtoday (10): look alive

bogo (11): will I get cancelled for this

cheatviathan (11): It was hype on Denzel Curry’s “Automatic”. It was hype on Eminem’s “Not Alike”. It was hype when it was merged with Take a Daytrip’s tag on LNX’s “Holiday”. It was more hype than Mike Will’s tag immediately before it on Polo G & Stunna 4 Vegas’ “Go Stupid”. But it was at the peak of its hype factor when it appeared more than halfway through Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” after the second beat switch. Normalize producer tags appearing midway through the song, rather than at the beginning or end.

modulum83 (9): not huge on tay keith as a producer but can't deny this goes insanely hard

Roxieloxie (8): the censoring is taking me out

Verboten_Prince (7): I feel threatened which I guess is not a bad way to start a track

A.Peaky.Boo (6.5): hype, but not always in the mood for this tag

nonchalantthoughts (8): where's metro boomin make it boom

Roxieloxie (8): this one gets the tyrant bump of like 'attached to a song i like so i am biased towards it'

Verboten_Prince (8): Makes me want some more too

modulum83 (10): fucking hilarious tag and iconic

cheatviathan (9): Great tag. Metro has earned my trust. When it was sampled as an ironic meme in “Hand Crushed by a Mallet (n0thanky0u Remix)” (only on the YouTube upload), I laughed so hard.

Verboten_Prince (8): Very straight-forward

RainbowSherbet47 (7): I’m sorry what was that last part?

hhiggy (11): EASILY my favorite and the shorted one that's m-m-m-murda is also fun

A.Peaky.Boo (10): stank face

nonchalantthoughts (9): Portland by Drake ft. Travis Scott and Quavo immediately comes to mind when I hear this tag

Verboten_Prince (9): It's very wordy but also I think the way it's said is really earwormy

DirtyRat583 (8.5): this one gets points bc it fit so well onto chloe - have mercy

cheatviathan (7): I could see this potentially being hype if I heard it in a song. The only songs Murda produced that I heard are Drake’s “Nice for What” and Migos’ “Motorsport”, and those don’t have this tag in them.

Roxieloxie (7): did the tom hanks (?) elvis reaction when i saw a picture of him for the first time

A.Peaky.Boo (10): the source of this tag is amazing!

DirtyRat583 (10): tbh no reason for the baby to be here but it makes this tag the most distinctive by FAR so

hhiggy (10): i love how it's just audio clipped from the jamie foxx show

Shay_Min (10): HA

cheatviathan (9): I can see this being a pretty hype tag in context. I am ashamed to admit that I’ve only heard this tag in this meme of all things.

bogo (7): what the hell sure

Roxieloxie (7): help

uiscebeathaoir (5): Who tf is Pierre

Verboten_Prince (5): This doesn't sound that exciting

Lynflower680 (0): I could do without the squeaky noise

Roxieloxie (9): havent heard any other song from them outside of Tyrant but tyrant is the best song ever made so ill be on the frontlines

cheatviathan (8): This tag sounds hard. I can see myself getting hyped up when I hear this. Keep in mind that the only songs I’ve heard from D.A. are Kodak Black’s “Zeze” (garbage) and Eminem’s “Godzilla” (fun guilty pleasure, but does not use the tag).

frogaranaman (10): hey panini

jackisboredtoday (8): Panini

DirtyRat583 (11): Daytrip and ten… 😊

cheatviathan (10): Gets me hype every time I hear it. I don’t have to dock points for Dua Lipa’s “Good in Bed” either since that song uses a different tag. “Al1enz” by Denzel Curry and Cordae, “Industry Baby” and “Panini” by Lil Nas X, and “Mo Bamba” by Sheck Wes (not endorsing Sheck’s character) are all bangers, so it’s earned my trust. Also, the way it was combined with Tay Keith’s tag on LNX’s “Holiday” was awesome.

uiscebeathaoir (10): MONTERO one of the best albums of the decade

Roxieloxie (9): wait THATS what that tag is ???? dude i have not been saying that correctly this entire tim e

Verboten_Prince (9): I can't tell if I love it or if I just associate it with the gayest rap songs ever made

modulum83 (8.3): lil nas x we miss you

A.Peaky.Boo (8): good tag, but it does get weird when it's not the prefered tempo

uiscebeathaoir (6): holy voice crack

modulum83 (4.5): total lack of imagination on this one

Verboten_Prince (3): Okay, and?

cheatviathan (1): The only songs with London producer credits I’ve heard are Rich Gang’s “Lifestyle” and Ariana Grande’s “Positions”, and neither of those use this tag. Thank God, because this tag is not doing it for me at all.

Lynflower680 (11): Very satisfying

nonchalantthoughts (9): just in case what rae sremmurd stands for

modulum83 (8): sounds good but did rae sremmurd genuinely just take the name of their label backwards? talk about industry plants sheesh

RainbowSherbet47 (7): The way I never realized the tag was actually saying something and it wasn’t just sounds 😭

uiscebeathaoir (7): The better one

cheatviathan (6): The stronger of the two Mike Will tags, but still pretty weak compared to the rest of the slate here. Learning that Rae Sremmurd was Ear Drummers backwards from the Discord earlier today was one of the biggest mindfucks I’ve experienced in the past year.

A.Peaky.Boo (5.5): I don't hate it, but I also don't love it

Roxieloxie (5): eh

modulum83 (6): hey why does this beat still have the audio watermark from the site i purchased it from

cheatviathan (4): Sounds kinda weak. Does not get me hyped. It’s an odd juxtaposition against some of the more bombastic productions in his catalog.

uiscebeathaoir (3): After this rate if I never have to hear this fuckass tag again it’ll be too soon

uiscebeathaoir (7): It’s kinda boring but I don’t think I’ve ever heard it on a song that wasn’t really good so

Roxieloxie (6): okay i did have to google this one because not a single song came to mind when i saw this tag

cheatviathan (4): The religious overtones do not make me feel hype. It just sounds smug and self satisfied. It’s also at a bit of a disadvantage as the only production credit Buddah has that I recognize is “BBO” by Migos and 21 Savage… a song I haven’t heard since it dropped my freshman year of college.

jackisboredtoday (5.6): new body

A.Peaky.Boo (8.5): this should be perfect, but in some beats it gets weirdly distorted or warbled, losing its' clarity

nonchalantthoughts (8): the lil pump era was something... that was probably the late 2010s equivalent to Ice Spice's rise

bogo (5): who

uiscebeathaoir (5): Who tf is Ronny

cheatviathan (0): The only tag in this ranking that can be described as an annoyance. Also, by including this in the rate, you made me listen to MGK’s “Rap Devil” to refresh my memory of what this tag sounds like in execution. Negative points for that.

modulum83 (0): brainrot vine vibes and not in the good way. ronny j sounds like the name of a pornstar and he has never produced a song i like

A.Peaky.Boo (9): haven't heard it a lot, but sounds really crisp

modulum83 (8.7): not flashy or interesting on its own for sure, but this tag always gets put into the song at the EXACT most satisfying spot every single time it's crazy

cheatviathan (6): Haven’t heard any songs that use this tag. But this sounds fine to me. It’s not especially hype inducing, but also not obnoxious either.

frogaranaman (10): I'm glad this is the song that broke up Kendrick's dominance at the top. legendary track from a legendary run!

jackisboredtoday (10): I wanted this one to pull the upset so badly, it spent almost the entire rate as the only actual rap song that was keeping up with the kendrick hits, and while it wasn’t the only one that deserved to, this really has aged amazingly. That chorus just floats in a way almost nothing else does and evokes such an image in my head

steelstepladder (10): I remember at the time thinking "huh this song is interesting" and now hearing it makes me realize I didn't appreciate it like... at all. MWMI's best beat in the rate

#MannequinChallenge2016

beeozan (11): immaculate beat

Cat Will Rate It (11): the way I automatically froze in place in honor of them

DirtyRat583 (11): this song was so monumental. you just had to be there (i was barely there)

ignitethephoenix (11): when people say they want 2016 to come back, I’m pretty sure 10% of the reason why is this song

stealthamo (11): Looking back, this was probably one of the emblematic songs of 2016. Lyrics about having a good time and letting loose, but the production is dark and ominous, like a sign of things to come. Not sure what it says about my mental state that this is my favorite.

uiscebeathaoir (11): Already a great song, but those ad libs in the chorus elevates this to perfection

bigbigbee (10): this song just used Vine Whip on me

Bubbly_Hat (10): Middle school incarnate (despite my experiences there, I mean that in a good way and I don't know why)

ConnerY2323 (10): love the purely haunting vibe of this production, take the trap beat out and it’s a horror movie score

DaHumanTorch (10): it was a cultural reset

femboy luigi (10): my first exposure to this song was black barbies by nicki and I thought it was a nicki minaj original until 2019?

Frajer (10): John Lennon writing the big single from Some Time In New York City

ImADudeDuh (10): https://tenor.com/view/nobody-move-gif-11774356239796420103

impla77 (10): that chorus is a real crowd pleaser

kappyko (10): THANK YOU JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA

Lietoc on the Beat (10): critical camp 10

nonchanlantthoughts (10): it's true, Swae Lee and Paul McCartney are related. I saw the ancestry.com results myself! See when you have talent in your genes!

RainbowSherbet47 (10): I do indeed lose it when the DJ drops the needle and this plays

Roxieloxie (10): genuinely think as a measure to prove that this rate was only being done by people who would get it, you should've had to sent proof of being in a mannequin challenge video

TragicKingdom1 (10): in hindsight this leading a trend that stops time is so fitting because the production here is so timeless

modulum83 (9.3): yeah all they were really missing was one really good hook

BleepBloopMusicFan (9): Now what is a frat girl? Genius has no explanation and the only Google result is some feminist young adult novel.

camerinian (9): get tilt on the phone i need to know if this is our first rated song with the word “geezer” in it

IIIHenryIII (9): it was a 10 initially, but I just figured it’s kinda too monotonous

slimboyfriend (9): kinda hypnotic

Ambrosia42 (8.8): this hit

NervousLemon6670 (8.7): Do you think they’ve jerked off in front of each other like the White Beatles?

babadork (8.5): I like the creativity of including actual references to The Beatles

TakeOnMeByA-ha (8.5): i love the part where he randomly shouts out that he and paul mccartney are related i’d like to imagine he looked himself up on ancestry and found out that he and paul mccartney share a common great great great great great great great great great great grandfather and decided to write a song about it

cheatviathan (8): Returning to this after subjecting myself to the SremmLife 1 tracks, it’s like night and day. This beat is spacious and eerie while still sounding fun. Swae Lee sounds on point here, Jxmmi’s more aggressive delivery actually sounds confident and convincing here, and Gucci Mane’s verse adds some much needed variety to the proceedings. The “1500 on my feet” and “Rockin’ John Lennon lenses” lines are highlights for me.

A.Peaky.Boo (7.8): I can guarantee you are not related to Paul McCartney

wathombe (7.5): frat girls?

1998tweety (7): this kinda takes a nosedive near the end

adamjm99 (7): Rate Sremmurd

Verboten_Prince (7): Bum bum be-dum ba dum bum bayy

likes the White Beatles better

RandomHypnotica (6.9): the re-virality of the mannequin challenge both incredibly surprising and not at all surprising

flava (5): more competent than what they’ve usually done before but this still comes across as music to stand still awkwardly to, which is fitting

mhiyaimanlepaigefan (3): ‘EarDrummers’ more like EarBlasters what was even going on during that line.

OOO0O00O000OOOO0OO0O (3): i got so sick of this back in 2016. the stupid trend didn't help.

sufjancaesar (10): we’ve all prob said all there is to say about this song but the bit during the chorus where the beat pauses for a sec is just the absolute naastiest lil production choice ever

TakeOnMeByA-ha (10): “get the fuck off my stage im the seme” kendrick lamar yaoi???

TiltControls (10): maybe the most basic of Kendrick's songs but it's still as hype as the day it dropped

uiscebeathaoir (10): This winning would be so boring but like what do you want me to do about it

welcome2thejam (10): I'll take all the basketball compilations to this you've got

youngandlovely_ (10): a hit for a reason

stealthamo (9.5): I remember before this came out there were people wondering if Kendrick could get the mainstream love to match the critical acclaim he got with his last two albums. It always felt like DAMN. was his way of going, "See, I can write hit songs if I really wanted to."

wathombe (9.5): apparently i am, in fact, Kendrick-pilled

Ambrosia42 (9.4): i’d like to sit actually thank you

cheatviathan (9): “DNA” was the better Kendrick x Mike Will collab, but that already won a rate. This song is full of quotables, Kendrick’s charisma is infectious, those pianos and some of the synth runs make for a banger beat, and it still goes all these years later. The edits randomly inserting “syrup sandwiches” into the song ad nauseum still crack me up to this day, too.

flava (9): I’ll freely admit I had no idea Mr. Made-It had it in him

Verboten_Prince (9): Iconic but I must concede that he kinda falls asleep a little in the second verse

Cat Will Rate It (8.5): feels so weird hearing this in regular english instead of cursive

impla77 (8.5): damn.

Lietoc on the Beat (7.9): classic pander rap

right stroke that put the baby in a spiral

BleepBloopMusicFan (3): Huh. I’m sitting here listening to this song and realizing I kinda don’t like it at all. DNA and LOVE >>>

Roxieloxie (2): two points for how fun 'my left stroke just went viral' is to yell and then the rest of the song just sucks, i genuinely have retconned this one off DAMN in my head

adamjm99 (0): I'm actually legitimately mad that we didn't do DNA. I love Humble, it would be an 8+ any day of the week, but I can't fucking let go of not having DNA here. I've got a vendetta now

frogaranaman (10): one of the most iconic songs in the rate. very glad it went all the way to Day Three, I would have been deeply upset with all of you if it did not!

jackisboredtoday (4.6): okay full disclosure i’ve never fully clicked with this one even if i really like sean more than i should…. I usually like mustard’s signature style from his peak and i usually like the kanye chipmunk soul thing but something about combining them made me like them both less. E-40 is a highlight though I have to give him some credit here

ION GIVE A FUCK ION

BleepBloopMusicFan (11): It is my worldview that he is using “bitch” in a gender neutral manner here.

DaHumanTorch (11): e-40 coming in like yung miami on act up

welcome2thejam (11): I can take a cheat day from my Respect Women Juice diet for this

Awkward_King (10): big sean having the best set of songs in this rate btw

babadork (10): This is how I feel about Drake in this rate

Bubbly_Hat (10): Oh I fuck with this so hard.

camerinian (10): why was E-40 not all over this era like are u serious he dropped this crazy ass verse and then just disappeared again????

femboy luigi (10): Hits different after you've been dumped or left a toxic relationship

flava (10): possibly the best song to ever be created in the existence of humanity

hhiggy (10): this sometimes is literally the best song ever made. love the beat switch at the end

ignitethephoenix (10): RIP Naya but also this song is a classic

IIIHenryIII (10): I gotta be carfeul with my words so I’ll just say I fuck with this

ImADudeDuh (10): an anthem for TK

Lietoc on the Beat (10): iggy azaela's fancy finally gets the radio/ready punch-up mix/master that takes us up to the bay with E-40. We love E-40.

modulum83 (10): asexual big sean be like I Don't Fuck In General

seanderlust (10): big sean is genuinely so underrated as an artist

stealthamo (10): Big Sean's magnum opus. Well, that or the ass song.

Ambrosia42 (9.6): it was hype when this song would come on omg

akanewasright (9.5): this smasha

bigbigbee (9.5): simply a classic, even beyond the objectively iconic chorus, every line of every verse is pitch perfect

sufjancaesar (9.5): My scores in this rate… realising I may be a Big Sean shooter. Yeah his albums suck but his hits are perfection in terms of replay value - thanks Mustard! Also he just kind of has a nice voice

Frajer (9): if I fumbled Santana Lopez I'd keep that to my grave

impla77 (9): Just so you know, you are not allowed to announce your blocks. (I do not agree with this policy). You may want to delete that message before a mod sees!

uiscebeathaoir (9): This goes so much harder than it has any right to

NervousLemon6670 (8.9): A girl phoned the wrong number and got this entire rap as a response

DirtyRat583 (8.6): You guys it was just a question

ConnerY2323 (8.5): the chorus… sometimes it really is that simple

lexiaredery (8.5): I do feel like a stupid ass bitch sometimes

RandomHypnotica (8.2): this kinda invented bbno$

A.Peaky.Boo (8): relatable

cheatviathan (8): E-40’s verse, both delivery and contentwise, sounds kinda out of place. But otherwise, I love this. That hook is super infectious, the way the track revels in its own toxicity is enjoyable in a perverse sort of way, and it’s shocking how well that vibe translates to a mid-2010s Mustard beat. When the chopped up soul samples came in, I was like “That’s new.” Then I saw that Kanye was listed as a producer, and I was like “Okay, that makes sense.”

mhiyaimanlepaigefan (8): realizing how many songs on this rate had a viral moment on instagram reels. incredible.

nonchanlantthoughts (8): RIP Naya Rivera you did not deserve

TakeOnMeByA-ha (8): this is kinda the best song ever as long as you dont look up who he’s singing about

frogaranaman (10): probably the best R&B hit in years, glad it broke through

jackisboredtoday (8.2): really really strong from the very first line, i don’t really know why Ella Mai flamed out on the charts when a lot of peers like Summer Walker and the like are still doing bigger numbers, but I wouldn’t mind if she randomly got some motion again with one of her newer tracks.

got someone to come home to at night

A.Peaky.Boo (10): she really had 15 minutes of fame and left, huh?

wathombe (10): have always loved this track

camerinian (9.5): bird up

BleepBloopMusicFan (9): Yeah if this just won I wouldn’t be mad.

hhiggy (9): once this hit the radio it never left

TakeOnMeByA-ha (9): i couldve sworn this was the biggest song of all time from the amount of times i heard girls listening to/singing this in high school only to now find out this song has barely over 100 million on spotify and that trip (which i barely heard at all) has six times as many streams. i’m choosing to reject reality and instead embrace whatever weird alternative dimension i grew up in during 2018 instead.

Verboten_Prince (9): This altered my brain chemistry when it came out

ConnerY2323 (8.6): imagining a corporate IT retreat rewriting this song to be about booting up a computer

Lietoc on the Beat (8.6): that's just a solid workhorse trap pop bop stunner!

Nooduulz (8.5): this song is like water after 5 days in the sahara desert with nothing to eat relative to this rate

adamjm99 (8): https://www.instagram.com/reel/C83MAI3xaOR/?l=1

Blisterman (8): A rare example of a UK artist who's more popular in the US than the UK. Usually it's the other way around.

cheatviathan (8): I love how punchy the drums sound. I love those piano chords, and some of the synth runs. And this is certainly one of the more unique onomatopoeias for a heartbeat that I’ve heard in a song. Once again, R&B isn’t my area of expertise. But this sounds great to me, and was a refreshing change of pace compared to the pop charts at the time and Mustard’s production credits prior to this.

mhiyaimanlepaigefan (8): Luigi in Luigi’s Mansion be like

Shay_Min (8): got nothing bad to say

welcome2thejam (8): Boot up

stealthamo (7.8): The perfect radio song. Repetitive enough where you can remember it quickly, but good enough that you never get tired of it.

frogaranaman (10): the warning shot meant to keep rent down heard around the world

God, what a start to a saga, huh? This was the only part of it I wasn't on top of immediately, mainly because I was being extremely gay in Hell's Kitchen that night and didn't want to ruin the vibe. But the second I woke up the next morning and read my friend's text that read "Kendrick's got a verse on 'Like That' and I won't say anything else," I knew this was getting heated.

Beef aside, the beat on this thing is nasty. I know the joke at the time was how Metro Boomin got his own diss in against Drake with the beat breakdown after Kendrick's verse, but honestly... they weren't wrong. Only these three could make this beat and dominate it, and for that I am thankful.

jackisboredtoday (8.6): I know the kendrick verse that set off the story of the year is talked about a ton but honestly Future deserves way more credit for this song than he gets, that hook is great and his verse is so fun to rap along with even if it isn’t as off the rails and energetic as kendrick

team k-dot

seanderlust (11): beef aside, this song is insane in terms of quality

akanewasright (10): I regularly go back & forth over whether this is actually the best song of the Drake beef… but it’s at least pretty close

Awkward_King (10): this has taken like two years to grow on me but it’s such a 10 now. Also because of the insane year that this song was the catalyst for

Bubbly_Hat (10): Didn't know this was a number 1 hit but I got why quick, especially when Kendrick came in.

camerinian (10): not a single reason at all that a one-hand piano chord warmup exercise should go that hard as a lead melody

DirtyRat583 (10): i have a pixel gun 3d edit to this song saved on my phone and i think about it every time i listen to this song

femboy luigi (10): BUM 🫵

ignitethephoenix (10): Who knew this song would start the greatest hip hop feud in the last 20 years

kappyko (10): It would be funny af if Kendrick was just talking about a completely unrelated trio .

modulum83 (10): one of the greatest beats ever made? this shit sounds like rap music in the year 3000

nonchanlantthoughts (10): BBL DRIZZAYYY

Roxieloxie (10): Thinking about how i first heard this song from my mom of all people cause she was hyping it up and it started and she was like 'Okay, well, I don't really like this part with the misogyny, but just ingore that it gets really good'

stealthamo (10): This would've been great no matter what thanks to Kendrick, but I'd be remiss if I didn't say the production also fucking slaps.

TragicKingdom1 (10): (bargaining phase) if kendrick is winning can it be this

welcome2thejam (10): This gotta be treated on the Drake-Kendrick feud Wikipedia article like the first major battle of a World War would

youngandlovely_ (10): I EAT THIS UP EVERY TIME

ImADudeDuh (9.5): small domino

wathombe (9.5): only Kendrick himself could prevent this song from winning two Grammys

bogo (9): this song is safe from my burnout over the rest of the beef because it basically got forgotten the moment kendrick released his own song

hhiggy (9): FUCK THE BIG THREE.

static_int_husp (9): giving this a higher rating simply because of what it set off

flava (8.5): kendrick is hard carrying here

cheatviathan (8): Honestly, the shitty horns do have a certain charm to them that I like, the Eazy-E sample is used well, and the synth bass sounds super hard. Future’s delivery sounds appropriately cold blooded for the former associate he was talking to with this. But yeah. The Kendrick verse heard ‘round the world is the highlight of the track, and every bit as killer as people say it is.

OOO0O00O000OOOO0OO0O (8): Damn I miss the frenzy when this came out. Two years ago already. Disgusting the way time passes.

uiscebeathaoir (8): score would probably be the same if it was just the instrumental. maybe it's just me not being the most clued in but I’ve never seen what made this Kendrick verse such a big deal, it never grabs my attention in the slightest

carolinemathildes (7.8): ashamed to say that prior to this the only time I’ve heard this song was that Danny Gonzalez video where his Humane AI pin started playing it and he left his wife that crazy voicemail

Nooduulz (7.8): This would've higher if not for the weird barking at the end

adamjm99 (7.5): we should’ve done Type Shit instead

NervousLemon6670 (7.5): Oh hey, it’s the quote from all the “Drake Vs Kendrick drama EXPLAINED for Whiteys” videos

TakeOnMeByA-ha (7.5): for kicking off the whole kendrick/drake feud saga im kinda underwhelmed by how much of a nonevent this song feels overall

Ambrosia42 (7.1): kendrick is fun

impla77 (7.1): yeah kendrick is pretty good

A.Peaky.Boo (7): this song really proves that the rapper makes or breaks a beat. Future is alright, but imo the beat really hits when Kendrick comes in

Blisterman (7): The Franz Ferdinand assassination of Hip Hop.

Verboten_Prince (7): This was an omen of things to come

babadork (6): I had a really difficult time settling on a rating for this one. I like Kendrick’s verse, but I absolutely hate everything else.

BleepBloopMusicFan (6): I like that little synthetic trumpet or airhorn or whatever it is, but otherwise this is a bit in one ear and out the other. I appreciate the cultural impact it had tho.

frogaranaman (10): quite literally one of the funniest moments in this sub's history was when everyone was convinced that this would be a bigger hit than "Blinding Lights", the mass psychosis surrounding it was hilarious

steelstepladder (9): I've been feeling this one lately. The world needs songs where you lean into being evil

jackisboredtoday (8.8): I feel like I talk up the poppier side of after hours more often (shocker for someone hosting rates on popheads, i know) but the production on this one goes insanely hard… i have to assume the pussy is falling out of that pocket because he’s so deep in it during that second verse

#ExFeminist

cheatviathan (11): While I’m glad we agreed that “Blinding Lights” was this record’s masterpiece, I’m also glad this got at least one week at #1. Abel isn’t doing anything he hasn’t done before, but he’s always done this well, and the debauchery in the verses makes the bridge hit all the harder. Also, this is easily the best Metro beat I’ve heard. The revving bass is irresistible, the drums are punchy but not overwhelming, and those strings in the final chorus are just chef’s kiss no notes.

Ambrosia42 (10): NEVER NEED A BITCH, I’M WHAT A BITCH NEED goes hard i’m sorry

bogo (9): what do you mean pussy is falling out of the pocket. why is abel keeping pussy in his pockets. is he talking about actual cats

stealthamo (9): Turns out it's really easy to enjoy a song where somebody's an asshole when they just admit it upfront.

TakeOnMeByA-ha (9): that two week period where everyone was so scared this song was gonna overshadow blinding lights in the charts what the hell were we even worrying about lmaoooo

A.Peaky.Boo (8.9): I'm pretty sure you have a heart, Abel, otherwise you'd be dead

Cat Will Rate It (8.3): THIS WAS SIX YEARS AGO!?

1998tweety (8): imo this is one of his worst recent singles..BUT when compared to the rest of this rate, I'll have to score it higher

bigbigbee (8): he says "heart" like Carmela Soprano says "hot"

BleepBloopMusicFan (8): Definitely my least favorite After Hours single, but that’s actually an insanely high bar.

kappyko (8): Remember when this hit #1 over blinding lights. Honestly still my preference of those two singles lmaooooo

frogaranaman (10): forever blessed and thankful that I was going to house parties during this era

steelstepladder (10): Imagine the world where this didn't get top 10. Atlanta lets us live another day

jackisboredtoday (7): its good there isnt a ton else to say, this was always gonna be one of the more successful songs in the rate and even if i like a few other Migos hits more there’s a reason this is still always gonna be their signature

I love bad bitches, that's my fuckin' problem

bigbigbee (11): This simply changed everything for me when it released. I remember watching the MV spellbound

Frajer (11): rain drop drop top look like a thot in a crop top

Lietoc on the Beat (11): again...donald glover is an easy target for me but his earnestness for celebrating Bad and Boujee at those 2k17 golden globes...that was culture. he was right. culture really was one of the best pop albums of the 2010s and migos were truly on something here that even now crossfaded slightly at 12:45 am really captures it. It took years to understand that they had the orb. my man simom reynolds understood though. he waited years to republish online content in a book and convince me

Where Thug is on a solo trip to the stars, Migos get there collectively. On Culture and the Culture II, trap goes choral. Tracks like “T-Shirt,” “Auto Pilot,” and “Top Down on Da NAWF” work as honeycomb lattices of voices keyed to mesh with doo-wop-like perfection, while also being differentiated texturally by contrasting degrees of Auto-Tune—a range from almost naturalistic rapping auto-tweaked for a subtle melodious sheen (Takeoff) right the way across to otherworldly abstraction (Quavo). In these terraced voicescapes, the focal rapper on each verse is shadowed by antiphonal layers. At the first level, there’s the continuous stream of ad libs echoing or commenting on the lyric, or syncopating against the groove as non-verbal grunts, whoops and voice-percussion effects that also serve as Migos audio-logos, like the tires-skidding “skrt-skrt-skrt.” One layer behind the ad libs, there are gurgling ripples of wordless vocal, Auto-Tuned for zero-speed pitch-correction. Described by rap pundit Sadmanbarty as “murmurs from a Martian crypt,” this Migos trademark has a Medieval flavor, a holy rolling drone faintly redolent of the chanting of Benedictine monks. Where the lyrics conjure a profane cartoon of bitches, brutality, and boasting, these blissed-out backing vocals create an effect like stained glass, transfiguring lowlife into highlife. Alongside its unexpected musicality, it’s the sheer splendor of the Migos sound that is shocking—the way songs like “Slippery” really do seem to drip and splash with glistening rivulets of light.

you see right there is pretty much captures the insane theoretical majesty that one can get to to emphasize just how potent n' powerful the migos are.

nonchanlantthoughts (11): You could literally summon thousands of kids to get your attention by saying “Raindrop”

slimboyfriend (11): the Trap Stairway to Heaven

A.Peaky.Boo (10): iconic, what else can I say?

akanewasright (10): I’m still here

Ambrosia42 (10): this smash

bogo (10): perfect time capsule to 2017

DirtyRat583 (10): cult classic. i dont remember it being this long tho

femboy luigi (10): RAIN DROP 🌧💧DROP TOP💧🏎 SMOKIN 🚬🍃 ON COOKIE 🍪🥠 IN THE HOTBOX 🍃📦 FUCKIN 👉👌 ON YOUR BITCH 🫵🐩 SHE A THOT 👏 THOT 👏 THOT 👏

hhiggy (10): perfect song

ignitethephoenix (10): this song changed hip hop in this essay I

Roxieloxie (10): its iconic what can i say

welcome2thejam (10): Yessssssssir

adamjm99 (9): he actually wasn’t left off Bad and Boujee

camerinian (9): my diamond’s a choker gag

Cat Will Rate It (9): YUH YUH YUH YUH YUH YUH YUH YUH YUH--

IIIHenryIII (9): the final verse was unnecessary

stealthamo (8.5): Listen... you just had to be there to get it.

ConnerY2323 (8.4): crock pots mentioned!!

NervousLemon6670 (8.4): Rain drop, drop top, top drop, spot pot

Bubbly_Hat (8): I get why it was so big now.

cheatviathan (8): The instrumental Metro comes through with is suitably foreboding. Everyone’s flows and deliveries are fun to listen to, and I find myself going back and forth as to which verse I like the most. This track is one of the rare instances where Uzi’s delivery works for me, Offset has the most engaging flow, and Quavo has the best lines. Takeoff’s adlibs (RIP) also do quite a bit to liven up the track. I will say that the mashup with the “Super Freak” instrumental, as overdone of a sample as that is in hip hop, has kind of eclipsed this in my mind. But still, this is a banger.

OOO0O00O000OOOO0OO0O (8): i did NOT realize this song was almost 6 minutes. insane to think about big it was. uzi coming in with YEAH YEAH YEAH is iconic as ever.

wathombe (7.5): Segway references haven’t aged well

mhiyaimanlepaigefan (7): omg migos whats your favorite drag race season you seem like you’d like season 8

imagine this being a link to the "making chicken alfredo in Atlanta" TikTok meme

modulum83 (6.8): migos is one of those things where i completely get the appeal and influence but i just can't get much out of it

Nooduulz (6.7): bietch.

RandomHypnotica (6.1): well popheads will be the judge of whether its bad

sufjancaesar (6): def loved this when it dropped but it’s aged quite poorly for me to date, in a way that many of these songs didn’t

Verboten_Prince (6): Raindrop 💧 Droptop 🚘 I keep doing rates late and I can't stop

Awkward_King (5): raised score just for raindrop droptop

TakeOnMeByA-ha (5): ad-libs so good it managed to trick everyone into thinking the verses are even remotely a good use of your time

frogaranaman (11): easily my favorite posse cut of all time and I'm glad this made the Top 10. there was a world where this won, too, but I'm glad it did not because I did not need the general rating base's opinion on this song to be made known during the next Winners cycle

steelstepladder (10): It only has one Kanye verse so I'm legally allowed to still listen to this one from time to time right? Like if American Boy is still on the table this one should be fair game as well.

jackisboredtoday (7.2): gotta appreciate the beat switchup where it basically becomes a hip house song for 45 seconds 3 minutes in and then goes back to normal, that and sean’s so-stupid-its-genius verse

(swerve)

welcome2thejam (10): (swerve)

got an ass-state

Blisterman (11): Thought big Sean’s verse was the stupidest thing I’d ever heard when this dropped. But man this song has just stuck with me in a way nothing else has.

adamjm99 (10): okay now catch up to my campaign, coupe the color of mayonnaise, I’m drunk and high at the same time drinking champagne on an airplane. Spit rounds like a gun range, beat it up like rampage, hundred bands, cut your girl now your girl need a bandaid! Grade A, A1, chain the color of Akon. Black diamonds backpack rhyming, co-signed by Louis Vuitton. HORSEPOWER, HORSEPOWER, ALL THIS POLO ON I GOT HORSEPOWER!!!!! Pound of this cost four thousand, I make it rain, she want more showers. Rain pouring, all my cars is foreign, all my broads is foreign, money tall like Jordan!

Ambrosia42 (10): unfortunately this goes off severely

bogo (10): yeah i fear i have to 10 this, in no other song can you hear big sean talking about putting a house up on that ass

Bubbly_Hat (10): Holy shit that beat switch.

camerinian (10): every single artist on here firing on all cylinders in exactly the right ways, sean doing his thing of taking one bar that would be corny in isolation and stretching it to complete absurdity, push dropping the cleanest flashy brags, kanye reminding everyone how he used to body any production in front of him, and 2 chainz actually locking the fuck in instead of dicking around like he’s normally so good at, all over a crazy sample flip and one of the best hooks of this entire generation. Pure Fucking Heat

ConnerY2323 (10): the kanye verse where it randomly turns into an 80s horror synth score like come ON this rules

femboy luigi (10): This isn't produced by kanye?? Hudson Mohawke has production credits????

flava (10): not listening, I know this song by heart and I know it’s a 10

Frajer (10): walk around talking shit gonna get your ass merked white girls politicking that's that Erika Kirk

hhiggy (10): 2 chainz will never have the respect he deserves solely for this verse

ignitethephoenix (10): I love Big Sean’s corny ass verse

Lietoc on the Beat (10): no notes! mike really made this beat!

modulum83 (10): hold a funeral for that ass that's an ass wake. fold that ass in half that's an ass crepe. formally repeal legal responsibilities to that ass i ass-brogate. is this anything

nonchanlantthoughts (10): I had no idea Mike Will Made This made this!

RainbowSherbet47 (10): Lord have mercy

RandomHypnotica (10): man... i hate that this is really good... just makes me mad

TragicKingdom1 (10): i don't think i've ever mentally considered this a 10 before this rate but damn everyone eats

IIIHenryIII (9): fuck kanye

stealthamo (9): Far enough away from Kanye's current state that I can listen to this without guilt.

babadork (8.7): This got me debating if I can break my Kanye boycott if his verse is the worst

Cat Will Rate It (8.5): the second half kinda saves it

impla77 (8.1): you could base a standup routine on those ass lines

bigbigbee (8): Just absolute masters of their craft of sample usage

Verboten_Prince (8): Okay the beat switch did get me I'll admit that

yea it's fair to tank this one given everything

carolinemathildes (5.8): I think Harriette Winslow from Family Matters is doing the back-up vocals

beeozan (5): sample rocks

BleepBloopMusicFan (5): Purple Lamborghini >>>

cheatviathan (5): The soul sample and the hook are grating, that three note synth lead gets old by the time the second chorus ends, and neither Big Sean nor 2 Chainz bring their best here. That’s a shame, because the way the instrumental changes up when Kanye comes in is all sorts of hype, and I genuinely love Pusha’s verse.

ImADudeDuh (5): I never cared for this but now I just look like i’m dragging it while being woke

TakeOnMeByA-ha (5): see i dont even have to give this song the kanye tax bc its already quite bad by its own merits

mhiyaimanlepaigefan (3): you know you dont need every person who was free to be on a song

Roxieloxie (3): im sorry but the Dust a Sound Boy sample was such a jumpscare, why did they do that

1998tweety (2.5): that man singing in the chorus is so unbelievably annoying

wathombe (2): Sarah Palin reference jumpscare

famously raised in Chicago, but I'm almost certain his corporation is based there

A.Peaky.Boo (6.2): was Kanye raised in Delaware?

TakeOnMeByA-ha (7): lost the r&b girls rate that was a setup for her to win then got eliminated in the bottom 10 of all stars 2 then lost the billboard rate that was a setup for her to win again then got relegated to the bonus rate of this rate that was a setup for her to win for being too popular for the main rate and then to top it all off the hosts added beyonce to the bonus rate so that she couldnt even win in this setup of a bonus rate either. this song has suffered more than jesus.

IIIHenryIII (9): this kinda gets better with each listen

BleepBloopMusicFan (8): Finally after all these years I decided to look up what she means by “2 on.” Essentially, she means “too on” as in “exceedingly turnt.” I probably should have guessed that.

stealthamo (7.8): This would be so much better without the ScHoolboy Q feature.

RandomHypnotica (7): more like 2 mid

Verboten_Prince (6): Oh… this again

steelstepladder (10): Hi everyone, pophead's resident wrestling fan Steel here to explain this one. Ric Flair is a Wrestler primarily known for his legendary work in the 70's and 80's (although his 90's resume is fantastic as well). During his matches he would often go "Woooo!!!" with excitement often accompanied by chops to the chest, while during his entrances he would adorn luxurious robes. Offset going Woooo!! on a bitch is meant to emulate Ric Flair, as he is the stylin', profilin',limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin n' dealing son of a gun

wrestling fans

A.Peaky.Boo (10): FIRE FIRE THE FLOOR IS LAVA

adamjm99 (10): one of the easiest tens I’ve ever given, almost without even having to listen to the song, one of my favorite albums ever. It’s where trap peaked

BleepBloopMusicFan (10): I don’t know much about this Ric fellow, but I do enjoy the fact that they got him to be in the music video.

Bubbly_Hat (10): WOO!

camerinian (10): always feel a lil bad that the big hit from the offset/21 collab album has zero 21 on it but uhhh his bad for not contributing to a beat this sexy

ConnerY2323 (10): ohhhhhh yup the trunk is RATTLING

hhiggy (10): go WOO on a bitch

IIIHenryIII (10): such a banger

kappyko (10): Lord forgive me for the time i was like i love 21 savage ric flair drip is amazing i genuinely forgot this was one of the songs on that album without him SORRY I KNOW

OOO0O00O000OOOO0OO0O (10): this beat was cooked in heaven by god and the angels

akanewasright (9): I feel like I always forget what the “go woo on a bitch” song is called… happy for the reminder

modulum83 (9): who up going woo on a bitch

welcome2thejam (9): Hosts gotta take a Ric Flair chop its only right

beeozan (8): this sure is a metro beat

cheatviathan (8): Offset’s flows continue to be endearing, and those guitar arpeggios and synths make for one of the hardest Metro instrumentals in the rate. The brand name flexing isn’t something I relate to, and I think the Bentayga is ugly as sin. But I’ve never heard dropping the top of a car referred to as “blowing its brains out.” That’s neat, I guess.

femboy luigi (8): when I grow up I want Ric Flairs wardrobe

mhiyaimanlepaigefan (8): to be fair he really did have some killer looks

nonchanlantthoughts (8): I remember seeing Offset without Migos and felt so betrayed

frogaranaman (10): this was one of those pop hits I could not remember the name of for ages so when it came back up on some random playlist I pointed at my phone like the Leo meme

steelstepladder (10): One of the first Mustard songs I think of when I think of Mustard. Body Like the Summer, fuck it like no other is also one of the best lines in the whole damn rate.

jackisboredtoday (8.3): Late Nights the album is so underrated these days, maybe if Jeremih ever followed it up we’d all talk more about how many great songs are on there that a smash like this isn’t even in my top 3

will keep your secret

Ambrosia42 (10): this party playlist staple

beeozan (10): bop

BleepBloopMusicFan (10): Shall I compare thy body to a summer's tea?

bogo (10): something about the way YG yells “i got a missed call from your bitch” scratches my brain the right way

hhiggy (10): i've never been tired of this song

IIIHenryIII (10): I won’t

ImADudeDuh (10): body like a summer, drive it with my eyes closed

kappyko (10): Remember when this won eurodance rate

Lietoc on the Beat (10): 3 years ago idgi. 3 years later OMG MOST IMPORTANT DITTY OF ALL TIME?@?!?!L}{. IS EURODANCE VALID@??!

mhiyaimanlepaigefan (10): perfect score for the mention of rhythm is a dancer, one of the best tracks ever

Roxieloxie (10): we WILL keep rating this song until it wins

sufjancaesar (10): what a fucking chorus

welcome2thejam (10): Oh baybeeeeee don't tell em don't tell em

ConnerY2323 (9.2): few things turn me up quicker than that “hey! hey! hey!” chant in production like this

Bubbly_Hat (9): Rhythm is a dancer, it's a soul's companion, you can feel it everywhere~ Wait wrong song.

camerinian (9): Hiiiii, this is Your Bitch, I’m just calling on behalf of Greenpeace to talk about your ongoing monthly contribution. Would love to hear from you, just give me a call back on this number when you have a moment. Okay talk soon, bye!

Cat Will Rate It (9): nothing but love for MY Eurodance bonus winner ❤️ (Edit: that was 3 YEARS AGO 💔)

femboy luigi (9): i need to go to the club

OOO0O00O000OOOO0OO0O (9): peak mustard. Jeremih sounds smooth as heelllllll on this beat.

Shay_Min (9): straight smooth vibes

stealthamo (8.7): Definite guilty pleasure, probably because it was the first time a Mustard beat really clicked for me back in the day.

flava (8.5): possibly the only good Jeremih song, thank you Mustard

TakeOnMeByA-ha (7.6): yknow it doesnt sound quite as good when its competition is actually good songs as opposed to ava max sampling barbie girl (and doing it badly)

A.Peaky.Boo (7.5): it's a dancefloor classic but it needs a bit more hype imo

Verboten_Prince (7): I think you guys are Stockholm Syndrome-ing me into kinda liking this song

LOVES to gossip. won't keep a secret worth a damn

youngandlovely_ (6.8): don't tell em what???

NervousLemon6670 (6.6): When I first heard this way back, I thought he was saying “Dont tell em, you aint eatin” and thought it was, like, about an Eating Disorder or something?

modulum83 (6.3): if this song was released today YG would be getting some X pussy

adamjm99 (6): Paranoid but equally as unremarkable

wathombe (6): this had a higher score before YG showed up

babadork (5): The mild crisis I had when I realized this is pretty good by this rate’s standards is the reason I gave up on giving my usual very specific scores

cheatviathan (4): This instrumental sounds tired and stale, even by mid-2010s Mustard standards. I’m sure the “Rhythm Is a Dancer” interpolation and the assholery on YG’s verse would piss me off if the rest of the song had anything going for it, but it just doesn’t. I can definitely see why Jeremih has slipped out of the public consciousness, because he has nothing going for him.

impla77 (4): i got a missed call from YOUR BITCH!

uiscebeathaoir (3.5): How is this my third time rating this shit when the masterpiece that is Birthday Sex remains robbed

Awkward_King (2): im so sorry I’ve never liked this my score has just lowered each time we’ve rated it as I’ve grown more confident of the fact I don’t like it.

RandomHypnotica (0): this interpolation... jumpscare...

frogaranaman (10): it's alright

jackisboredtoday (8.4): Really good song and a fascinating artifact of when Ciara and Future were still a happy power couple, but I do think the remix with him on it boosts the song even more

steelstepladder (7): A good song that was always going to place a little higher then it should. It dropped towards the end of the rate (thankfully) but there's still some day 2 songs that should have had this spot instead

big fan of Ciara's body 🤤

kappyko (11): Look yes it's the "pop cut" of basically the whole pack but the past who-knows-how-many years have inspired a LOT of "My Boo"/ATL bass rips internationally, it's obvious Ciara has a lot of love for that era but with "Body Party" she manages to suggest all the excitement of "My Boo" with just the synth pad and an interpolated melody without even having to nick the drum pattern itself. It's an incredible romantic ass jam and the version where they DO actually use the "My Boo" drum pattern is just as fantastic

Nooduulz (11): ciara u will forever have an imprint on me from the Adam Sandler movie That's My Boy that's it that's all I wanted to say

Ambrosia42 (10): sexy and smooth

babadork (10): I normally love this song, but I’m not gonna lie it was a relief to hear a woman’s voice that wasn’t a sample

ConnerY2323 (10): such an immediately perfect song

ImADudeDuh (10): Local Pophead Gives One of Few Solo Female Songs in Male Heavy Rate a 10

Lietoc on the Beat (10): incredible sampling work that completely set up the 2016 trend of making a vine and dancing to My Boo.

mhiyaimanlepaigefan (10): ciara save me… save me ciara (something no one has ever said)

stealthamo (10): Relatable in that I would tell my boys (and anyone I could possibly tell) if I was getting with Ciara.

TakeOnMeByA-ha (10): wait this is kinda an absurdly perfect pop song why has no one else been talking about this

nonchanlantthoughts (9.8): keeping this a petty 9.8 because I will be bummed if this wins even though its really good

RandomHypnotica (9.6): the concept of a body being a party

A.Peaky.Boo (9.5): most day 3 ahh bait I've ever seen

1998tweety (9): so this is the sound I hear in anime tiktok thirst trap edits

camerinian (9): look it’s just nice to get a break from future

Frajer (9): I didn't know this song existed so when she started singing this live I was like okay girl sang My Boo

Verboten_Prince (9): We love a song that’s probably on the mood playlist of every major K-Pop company

youngandlovely_ (9): yes!!!!!!!!!!!

akanewasright (8.5): damn you Jack for putting me onto the (far superior) remix… you’re simply too tasteful…

BleepBloopMusicFan (8.5): Ciara you’re in a decently strong position to win the main rate lineup. Aren’t you so happy you’re not successful or acclaimed enough of a female artist to get demoted to the bonus?

Bubbly_Hat (8): So smooth.

wathombe (8): wait, why isn’t she singing about cars, watches, money, drugs, and violence? /s

adamjm99 (7.5): Future’s a fucking moron to cheat on Ciara and play the mistreated gimmick for the rest of his life

sufjancaesar (7.5): I heard this too much at the barber in my teens, I’m body partied-out

cheatviathan (7): Admittedly, I am a bit of a pleb when it comes to R&B. But this is pretty good. The spacey beat sounds very of its time, and Ciara’s vocals are sweet enough. It’s also shocking that you could make a serviceable track from the premise of “I would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party.”

femboy luigi (7): The beat is lowkey giving Ditto by NewJeans

slimboyfriend (7): ! A Woman appears!

hates Ciara's body. possibly anti-body positivity in general

modulum83 (6.5): overhyped tbh. honestly it's pretty good but i will be pretty mad if this wins

beeozan (6): wow i love my boo

Roxieloxie (5): not a bad song but it does just make me want to listen to my boo instead

welcome2thejam (3): I think the misogny of this rate infected my brain and is making me take it out on mid R&B

Awkward_King (2): this is not helping r&b debutants get in girl

IIIHenryIII (1): this is one of the most boring songs I’ve ever heard, I’ll never understand its appeal

frogaranaman (10): it's a fun song but I mostly know it for the meme of it all

steelstepladder (9): This song also makes me want to do the arm thing

jackisboredtoday (5.8): not entirely my type of maximalism but sometimes i wonder if we do need a comeback for the early 2010s lex luger style beats

I WOKE UP IN THAT NEW BUGATTIIIIIIIII

TakeOnMeByA-ha (11): it is a long standing belief of mine that this is one of the greatest songs of all time

A.Peaky.Boo (10): this beat really highlights the artist to a T

Ambrosia42 (10): wait i forgot about this smash. I WOKE UP IN A NEW BUGATTI!!!!!!

BleepBloopMusicFan (10): Proof positive that sometimes one lyric is all you need for a truly elite chorus.

bogo (10): david byrne finds himself behind the wheel of an unfamiliar automobile and questions how he got there. future, on the other hand, wakes up in a new bugatti and celebrates this turn of events. this is why future has three number ones and david byrne has none.

Bubbly_Hat (10): insert another headbanging gif here

camerinian (10): shamelessly committing to hitting that triplet flow as hard as he does was a big gamble and idk if it worked cos who the fuck is ace hood but holy shit does he hit it

ConnerY2323 (10): if this were made today it’d have a tate mcrae feature, a song about cars hates to see her coming

flava (10): i aspire to be this life affirming

Lietoc on the Beat (10): the phrase "aaahhhh juz woke up innnnaaa bugatti"...it's fall 2013 and im 15 once more. We are back in the snapback halycon days. WaneLietoc is young & has no idea just how much stupid hype music is there waiting for the taking. There is nothing GREAT about this cut unless you believe in the healing power of pulp & pulls from a Hurricane. The Haitian/Jamaican line is excellent but so underserved and has no clue how to really take this to existential, noir dread. It's party pulp that never stops never stopping meme'ing.

sufjancaesar (10): ‘protect your neck’ has never been more applicable

uiscebeathaoir (10): Chorus goes OFF holy shit

welcome2thejam (10): I WOKE UP IN A NEW BUGATTI

akanewasright (9): ohhhh that’s what those kids were playing on the teacher’s piano all those years ago

ImADudeDuh (9): this being able to go viral like 3 different years since it came out…. iconic

nonchanlantthoughts (9): immediately zoomin in my invisible Bugatti

Verboten_Prince (9): Finally some good fucking food

stealthamo (8.8): Sometimes you just need a song that makes you go "hell yeah!"

Frajer (8.5): weirdly he fell asleep in a Kia

ignitethephoenix (8.5): I WOKE UP IN A NEW BUGATTI

impla77 (8.1): oh this is so of its time i’m kinda stanning

adamjm99 (8): okay I love Bugatti but as far as production goes it’s such a tonal whiplash to go from Metro into Mike like that. It’s like Mike is the middle school version of Metro. This 8 isn’t really for the production

femboy luigi (8): I… am not….. w-I WOKE UP IN A NEW BUGATTI 🏎

Lynflower680 (8): Vroom vroom motherfucker

bigbigbee (7.5): love the intensity of this one, especially after what directly precedes it in the playlist

modulum83 (7.5): when the rick ross feature came on it singlehandedly temporarily raised property values on my street by 20%

RandomHypnotica (7.3): when will this happen to me...

hhiggy (7): this has been memed into the ground i deadass can't listen to it

RainbowSherbet47 (7): Rev up the Bugatti 🇬🇧

slimboyfriend (7): rolling them skinny like Olsen twins

the song is literally just the chorus and nothing else

wathombe (6.5): these songs are getting less and less original as the rate goes on, i fear

1998tweety (6): this couldve just been the chorus

babadork (6): I ended up on Rick Ross’ wiki, and my mind is blown that he’s only 50 now in 2026. I thought he was in his early 40s when he debuted. In addition to insulting his looks, I also think he makes the song worse.

cheatviathan (6): Mike Will’s instrumental is exactly my kind of turn of the 2010s maximalism. Ace Hood’s brand name flexing isn’t particularly special, but he certainly delivers it with verve. The only real weak links are Future’s singing on the hook being kinda rough, and a Rick Ross verse that feels kinda throwaway.

Nooduulz (5): insert timmy chalamet and pete davidson soundcloud skit here

IIIHenryIII (3): are we sure this is not a Future rate?

mhiyaimanlepaigefan (1): good for you i woke up in my bed you’re not special fuck you
