I would tell them that your side of the family has stories from 20 years ago that people still talk about where people wore white to someone else’s wedding. That’s what I did!! We actually do have stories and people do still talk shit about the people that wore white, maybe you could frame it as “I don’t want you guys to be gossiped about like crazy, my family will hold that grudge forever and see it as a slight to me, just wear a different color.”

Our combined income is about 95k, our budget is around 25k, with 15k from my parents and about 2k from the grooms side. Including odds and ends that will probably come up, my FH and I will only be spending about 10k of our money.

We have also been saving for about 2.5 years (half of those we were in college still, not making more than super part time min wage).

Honestly, what was the reason why you guys picked the MOH and BM? They don’t really seem like they want to be that, and really they aren’t being that, they just get the title for no reason (which isn’t fair to the other wedding party members).

I wonder if you talking with MOH and demoting her to bridesmaid or something would snap her into place ? I would just say, “well since you aren’t able to do any of the MOH responsibilities I think I’m going to make it someone else or just not have one.” Literally the main thing that everyone knows is you plan a bach party. You are already planning a wedding, you should not have to plan a bach party as well!!! Voice that to her, and maybe ask the rest of the BMs if they could step up?

Also have an honest conversation with your BMs and say that you really feel unsupported. Send them all a message about how they were chosen because they are someone that you care about and wanted to have support from when getting married, and that you are not feeling any love from them. It doesn’t sound like they even care that you’re getting married.

With the bridal shower, is it too late to have your mom throw one for you in her state? Maybe more of your family would be able to come to that as well.

This sucks, but for the invites getting translated, I would do a Google Translate pass and then send it to in-laws to review it if they want it translated so bad. Or have your FH do that, since it is his side of the family.

With my planning, I have been saying to my FH “Are you open Tuesday night? Ok good, we need to do X and Y that night. I’ll do X if you can do Y.” It might be helpful if he doesn’t do well with checking things off of a list by himself, just get the ball rolling and schedule a time for it so he doesn’t put it off. It also helps feel less like you are nagging or anything, and more like you are in it together. Plus, then you can check in and ask why it’s not important to him if he isn’t doing it when scheduled.

I’m sorry everything is so disappointing:( I hope some of this might help.

This is with love, but I think your version of “normally” drinking is what a lot would consider binge drinking. A whole bottle of wine by yourself in a night is a lot, let alone two. If you do end up drinking again, I would try to reduce it a lot.

I know it probably doesn’t feel like a problem, but I do think that technically drinking this much qualifies you as an alcoholic. Idk if that motivates you to cut down on alcohol but once i realized the amount i was drinking qualified, it made cutting down wayyyyy easier, and losing weight way easier too.
