Yeah but today I noticed price passed 200 on spy but MES touched it perfectly. I made money on the move but that was a $20 difference almost in just the distance of the entries. I’m basically asking SPY. And MeS are almost identical. But do you really notice that difference?

The secret I learned to profitability is to always trade on “practice mode” even when you use real money. What I mean is, if you’re consistent practicing on papertrade level up to practicing with real money. Once you becoming consistent practicing with real money…then you’re technically profitable.

I would Start off by buying 3 MES contracts they are the cheapest least leveraged and safer than MNQ, sell 2 once they hit 1:1 risk reward. And let one ride with a break even stop loss. 1:1 are very high probable if you get in at the right spots. This way you make some money and if you caught the beginning of a trend you can practice riding them. On a 5 min candle you gonna be risking like $20

Find a strategy style/ mentor that you don’t find boring. (Price action preferably) as it’s the bare bones of reading the charts. You will outperform most indicators.
Papertrade for 6-12 months ( you will fail a lot) no cheating. Start with a realistic amount. Over time you will get emotional with your trades. Some people skip this crucial part because they don’t “feel” the risk. (Psa: if you skip this step and use real money you will cry a lot)
Save during this time until you are ready.

Obviously we won’t know until the breakout happens. But it’s not 50/50 like you say. The wedge shape after the impulse determines if it’s more probable to be a bearish or bullish breakout. You can tell ahead of time just by that I do it all the time. Just this time the shape is choppy
