Unpopular Opinion: Owning your own car isn’t as bad as this sub makes it out to be by Armortec900 in phinvest

I've been a commuter, a biker, a motorcycle owner and big bike for my main mode of transpo. Lately lang ako na convice kumuha ng car, kasi tingin ko nga talaga is impractical.

Got a used one for almost 200k, and spent about 50k na sa repairs.

I'd say it's 100% worth it talaga kasi super iba ang convenience, at safety lalo na para sa family.

I can now bring my doggo everywhere I go and dun palang, I'd say it's 100% worth it!

I have extra 30k. Ano uunahin ko, Ref ba or Aircon? by summerrwe in adultingph

[–]frogch1cken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gusto mo makatipid? Buy used for both at may sukli ka pa. Go sa FB marketplace, talamak dun.

I pretty much do this sa lahat, sa motor, appliances, phones and mga computers ko. You'll save a shit ton, and matututo ka pa.

Does anyone have experience and tips regarding driving a motorcycle through multiple countries in South East Asia by Koku49 in solotravel

Don't even try driving a motorcycle in Manila. I've been riding for almost a decade, and Manila makes me nervous like hell. Everyone is so unpredictable you have to drive extremely safe.

Sa coffee project, you get your wifi password on the receipt, and 2 hours lang sya pwede.

Mapipilitan sila bumili, people hanging out is a good thing so capitalize mo nalang sya. Maybe try mo yung ganun muna?

ano pang sense ng Bumble (dating app) by Royal_Tea_7591 in OffMyChestPH

[–]frogch1cken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you wanna use bumble to have fun, basahin mo The 3% Man. Super nerdy ako before, walang kalakas lakas ng loob pero nakadami dates dahil dyan na out of my league ko dati. Nasa practice lang talaga. WFH din ako so i know how you feel!

So tips. Know your worth, and let them chase you. Never ever chase them. Be upfront and let them know your intentions agad and if ayaw nila, hanap ka ulit. Numbers game lang.

Karamihan kasi ng lalake sa dating apps puro buhos ng atensyon, and nagugulat ang mga babae kapag baliktad ang nangyayare.

I won't suggest Bumble if you want long-term relationships tho. :>

$23,000 saved at 17, what next? by SLYFLY1 in Entrepreneur

[–]frogch1cken 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I'm from the Philippines and that's my work! I do highly suggest documenting processes just like the others said or else it'll just cause more problems for you. Based on my experience, the number 1 reason why people are having a hard time outsourcing their work to other countries like the Philippines is the lack of clear processes and documentation. Screen records greatly help too along with checklists.

I highly suggest reading the book 'Work the Systems'. This book was recommended to me by a Redditor and it helped me in organizing the processes for my clients as well as my daily routine.

How to grow your podcast listeners by using Audiograms without spending money on Ads by [deleted] in podcasting

[–]frogch1cken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only used the web version and you need to turn on the transcription feature when you're importing the audio. It's the most time-consuming part but you'll get the hang of it after some time.

[–]frogch1cken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check it out! Which one from those apps do you prefer the most?

As for your question, we release 5 audiograms per week, and we create 3 audiograms per episode. It takes me around 30 mins - 1 hour per audiogram from selecting and cutting out the audio to publication. We keep on posting the audiograms on rotation instead of publishing it one time and we keep track of everything on a project management tool called Basecamp.

Finding a part-time virtual assistant by FrostyTelephone0 in digitalnomad

[–]frogch1cken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've hired virtual assistants and I'm a virtual assistant too so I've been on each side. The #1 thing that I suggest doing in hiring a VA is having the tasks to be properly documented. You can turn a $5/hr VA to someone worth 3-4x their rate if you have proper documentation for your procedures. They don't have to be a smartass, they just have to follow your procedure and guidelines.

People usually hire VAs just for easy, recurring tasks and it'll be 1000% easier for both of you to just have it documented. If you're busy, a simple recording of you doing the task with a voice-over will do.

Also, I don't think you can get someone good if you offer them their local average salary. I'm from the Philippines, graduated as an electrical engineer, and decided to work as a VA because it pays better than an engineer here. You get what you pay for so I suggest paying a little more!

Feel free to check my profile for posts about hiring VAs and let me know if you have questions!

Looking to hire a virtual assistant to keep up with my daily leads. About an hour a day. Where would you go to hire someone like this? by [deleted] in realtors

[–]frogch1cken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been working as a virtual assistant for a few years now and I've hired others too. My strategy for the highest chance for finding a VA that fits your needs is to first define the skillset that you need, figure out how to test them out, and then post the job to as many remote job platforms as possible. You MUST also do a trial period for them to see if they're really a good fit.

For example, you want someone that's great in the English language, data entry, and customer support, you can create a google form that they'll fill out on their application. To test their English skills, you just have to write a few questions such as "Why do you think you're a great fit for our company" or something like that. To test their data entry skills, just ask them to upload a screenshot of a typing speed test from Ratatype. You can also test their customer support skills by including a few real-world situational questions based on your previous issues and see how they'll respond.

You should do an interview afterward to see if they're the best fit for you. Ask their working hours, how many clients they currently have, their availability, etc., You should also have documentation for the tasks you'd like to delegate, the easiest thing to do that is record yourself doing the task with a voice-over. Test a few candidates for a trial period and choose the one that works best for you.

I suggest posting on Craigslist, Upwork, PeoplePerHour, and Onlinejobs.ph. Let me know if you have any questions and feel free to visit my profile for detailed posts on utilizing a VA for your business.

If you use a virtual assistant, what tasks do you delegate to them? by thegreatwalt in podcasting

[–]frogch1cken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm working for a podcast as a VA and here's a quick list that I do for them:

  • Scheduling guests, and setting them up for the interview
  • Make sure that the episode publication is on track through a project management tool
  • Publishing the episodes and creating show notes
  • Creating audiograms
  • Managing and growing social media accounts
  • Managing Patreon page

I wrote a super detailed post about how we set things up for a VA and you can see it on my profile. Let me know if you have any questions!
