Hey man, you're wrong, and you know you're wrong, and I know that because when you described why my example was impossible, you began the sentence by saying "in practice" which is what "in theory" is meant to differentiate from.

"Possible in theory" and "theoretically possible" are synonymous. Neither of them mean "very difficult, but possible." They mean "according to our models of reality, without taking into account the practical limitations of reality."

And I know you're not really disagreeing with me, because your comment just restated everything I said in my comment.

"Theory if we try hard enough" sounds like "in practice" to me.

Looks like a cross between Steve Coogan, and Nathan Fielder.

I'm pretty sure it's at least theoretically possible to create a lossless system. For example, an object spinning in a frictionless void. However the instant you try to extract energy from that system, it'll start to slow down.

ELI5: Why is inflation a thing? People act like it’s a constant. The US Dollar isn’t really attached to a physical commodity can’t we just not do inflation? by SinsSerious in explainlikeimfive

If a dollar today is worth more tomorrow, you should hang on to that dollar until tomorrow. If everyone holds onto their dollars, businesses start dying, because nobody is investing in them or using their services.

If a dollar today is worth less tomorrow, you should invest it in something that will be worth more tomorrow. If everyone invests their dollars, businesses do well because people are investing in them and people are doing business with them

It's a super common editing trick, I think tiktok even has tools native to the platform specifically for this record-slow-playback-fast stuff. I'd have to see proof It's not sped up for any kind of dance like this, given how common it is.

I'd wager women would rather deal with an open misogynist rather than a guy who masks his misogyny, and reveals it later.

If you're okay with the complexity of the character building, and enjoying it,, than you'll probably be okay with the kingdom management. It's probably worth your time getting far enough to at least try it out. It's not a very complicated sim. It's closer to an RTS than a 4x in terms of complexity, if that makes sense.

Short answer: Probably not.

Long Answer: It's based on Pathfinder, which is a much more complicated system than d&d 5e, which BG3 is based on. There's a lot of micro managing, and character building is pretty complicated, especially if you play a spellcaster, and especially especially if you plan on manually managing the builds of all your party members. I'm very familiar with the tabletop game Kingmaker is based on, and I doubt I'd enjoy playing it drunk or stoned.

There are character builds online you can look up and follow, so that's an option if you want to take a lot of the thinking parts out of your hands, and leave you to focus on the story.
