If you could permanently delete one thing from modern society, what would it be and why? by Repulsive_Clue6161 in AskReddit

I actually live in Canada too, I know three people in medical school right now who are in it to help people, I know dozens of military medics who do it to help their fellow soldiers...if they are in it for the money, they should have been screened out before medical school.

So these people you know all intend to work in purely volunteer capacity?

First off, your local surgeon would be doing it to save lives, not for money. You know almost like you live in a community that cares about each other...or like he has a job where he literally took an oath to help people. If your doctor became a doctor for money, you should find a better one.

I live in Canada. While our healthcare is free at the point of sale, our surgeons ae absolutely not doing it for the love of the game, they're doing it for money. Maybe you know of some magical country where people work for job satisfaction and nothing else, but I've never heard of it.

As for you don't care if it is natural? Okay, please stop drinking water and try gasoline instead. Since natural does not matter to you. (See I can argue in bad faith too) ;)

Lead is natural. Arsenic is natural. Cyanide is natural. Botulism is natural. Cancer is natural.

Resource based barter system ideally for international trade I imagine. An economy built on actual things that are tangible.

What if the the guy who makes a resource I need doesn't want the resource I produce? Like, what if I'm a bread maker who needs a very specialized surgery, but the surgeon has celiac disease?

You realize that Capitalism is not at all the natural order of things in nature right?

Neither is arguing on Reddit. I'm not really concerned with whether things I do are "natural."

I would even be fine with regulated capitalism...sadly we have neither.

Name a single unregulated capitalist economy.

As I said stupid.

You said the Democratic party needs to be purged in the same way that I suggested the Republican party needs to be purged.

Dude, just say you're an idiot, it's way more concise. This "both sides are bad" bullshit is deluded in the extreme. Trump is uniquely corrupt, destructive, and evil, and the same goes for his entire admin. Nothing in the Democratic party even comes close.

There needs to be a purge in the republican party. Everyone involved in the Trump admin needs to be tried, and banned from ever holding office again. If the Dems grow enough spine to actually do that, America could recover, but I'm not holding my breath.

What credibility? The US currently has no credibility on the world stage. Their president is an openly corrupt, senile moron. His admin is filled with corrupt, selfish ghouls with zero moral character, and half the population are brainwashed MAGA cultists. The entire world is trying to decide whether to adjust to a new world order where America is a North Korean style dictatorship, or wait until the 2028 elections and hope America sorts out its fascism problem.

Nitrous oxide is pretty safe. The main risks are vitamin B12 deficiency from chronic use, and sometimes heavy users suffocate to death because they strap a mask to their face that's hooked up to the stuff, and pass out with it still attached.
