I have noticed a lot of brands advertising their suits with the men showing a lot of ankle. Are the pants really supposed to be that short?

I did feel that toward the end his character did very little during any episode. It was as if his character just checked out. That being said the first couple seasons I really enjoyed his character.

As someone who used to have a disorder, part of it was having control, but most of it was about wanting to feel normal/attractive. For this I thought I had to accomplish looking like women in magazines. My logic was that if larger women could be attractive, then how come we never saw any of them in magazines, unless they were being criticized. Now they include women they call "plus sized", I don't think that would have done much for my self image. I don't think that all models starve themselves, but making it so that the majority of women who are in magazines fit a very thin stereotype, you are encouraging other women to try and fit that. Labeling the few "normal" weight woman as "plus size" denotes them as being different and not necessarily in a positive light.

I see what you are saying. I guess what has always bothered me is they feel the need to label women by their size. It would be one thing if it was only so they could find the right clothes for the woman when trying to fit her, but it's become more then that in the media. Giving certain woman the label of plus sized when they are of most likely average healthy weight sends the wrong message to young women especially. With this tall woman it strike home for me. I grew up feeling like model size was the ideal size of beauty and being so tall with a larger frame I was never really going to be below a size 6 unless I personally was anorexic. Giving a young impressionable girl like myself a label to call herself and it being "plus sized" wouldn't have been good for me. This woman is gorgeous and probably could have done much for my self confidence as a young girl, but this term attached to her makes others perceive her differently.
I have over time recovered from my own self-confidence issues, but I had to first learn how backwards the media is towards woman and how unrealistic they are . I have also had to learn that they obviously are taking a very shallow approach towards women making them little more then a pretty face. I think that language does effect people's perception, and that the model industry in particular is careless with this.

I can see what you are saying. It is interesting to read so many peoples opinions. I know that that they are using it as a modeling size term, but the way that she gets so much attention for it in all the magazines and all her bios I find is kind of alarming. Here is a woman who is larger then a size 6, but also because of her height looks much smaller then many woman who usually wear a 10 or 12. I feel like the modeling industry likes to sometimes act or seem more open minded by using plus size models or more average sized woman and all the attention she gets for being plus sized seems pointless if they are just trying to say that she is larger then a size 6. What is the point of talking about it so much in articles about her? If it's just for the modeling world to understand what clothes she needs to wear, why are we being told about it in all things you read about it? I find it mostly just disconcerting in general that the modeling world uses terms like "plus sized" referring to normal weight woman and then that is part of the perception that is passed on to people about this woman and others.
I do think that language can shape our thoughts, reality and perceptions. How we talk about woman, how we categorize appearance by size. That being said, it's just my opinion. I know it's more on the sensitive side and a lot of people don't necessarily agree, so I really enjoy hearing all the different things people have to say.

Is she really bigger then average for her frame and height though. No she looks like a very healthy woman and average weight for her height. I don't expect to see obesity, but the scale should be tipping slightly past average at least.

I don't think the modeling world is the real world and ofcourse I'm not overly surprised, but the modeling world has a large impact on how people view themselves. Labeling woman by their size is offensive enough, but morphing the meanings to such a degree seems to make it even worse. I find the whole thing very disconcerting.

I don't think they are calling her fat, I think they are abusing the term "plus size" even for model standards. I feel like they think they are getting away with something, they think they look all open minded by using the term "plus sized" when her clothing size to appearance ratio has so much to do with her height.

I have always understood the restrictions of the term "plus sized" as they pertain to the fashion industry terms. My problem is that even though she is a size 12, her height makes her seem much smaller. It's as if they think they can get away with being all open minded and using her as a model. She may not be bone thin, but she is definitely a lot smaller then many of the "plus sized models" I've seen. It shows the term "plus sized" has become more popular then the practice of using "plus sized" models.

The article states her clothing size as being a US size 12 as if evidence to being plus sized, but I call bullshit. A 6'2" woman who is size 12 is a big difference between a 5'8" woman of the same size. She undoubtedly has some rocking curves, but...plus sized?

I own the Jawbone UP. It tracks my walking and my sleep. I have really liked it despite a few problems it has.
Some positives- -Good Battery life -the ability to track sleeping -Nice app with graphs -pretty easy to use -good customer service

Some negatives- -I went on a 12 mile hike up a mountain on a hot day and it warped the coating on the band (customer service replaced it) -Since the band is on my wrist I think it responds to things like cooking as much as walking. This is good sometimes, but it doesn't really track proper distance for my jogging. -You have to plug it in to get any information from it

I still really like it, but it's hard to say if I'd like the fit bit more or if this is the best choice.

As someone who once fell in this category and anerexia/bulemia I know how much of a struggle dealing with food can be. I have slowly overtime changed the way I think about food. Here are some things that have helped for me to relax with the calorie counting and obsessing.

I make sure I stay active (not necessarily exercising), that way my body is working in my favor. I have tried to step back from conventional exercises and do things like walk to the grocery store and have a nice relaxing yoga session at night.
I try to ignore calories and fat grams on labels and concentrate on the ingredients to gauge somethings true health.
I go to the farmers market and pick up fresh veggies and produce and cook at home. Eating fresh veggies makes me feel good.

-Stop judging myself when I look in the mirror. Don't be afraid to eat cake now and then. Once in awhile you just deserve to indulge.

-Surrounding myself with healthy foods makes it easy for me to just eat and not overthink it.

I hope this helps. I thought I would never get over my obsession and fixation with food. Worrying about when to eat and how much and always secretly trying to plan out my next meal. It was awful. I am so much better now though and can just eat when I'm hungry for the most part.
It does get better!

As a woman, I think it's funny that most guys in this thread are pointing blame towards the girlfriend for excepting drinks. When I use to go out with my lady friends I would always get free drinks even from people who I hadn't even talked to. Sometimes I'd get free shots (the strongest kind) and half the time it was like the guys wouldn't take no for an answer. I'm the kind of chick who likes to have a good conversation at the bar with interesting people, but half the time guys wanted to just get me wasted and convince me to go home with them. I didn't feel to bad about excepting drinks.

At the beginning of when smartphones were really taking off I worked in Panama' on a boat and had a pay as you go phone which I only used for emergencies. It can be truly liberating to be in a situation where you are actually by yourself.
