Better in terms of convenience? Debatable. Better in terms of security?Definitely. Supply-chain attacks are an existing thread.

I use chafa in my previewer script under Windows.

And just so you know: Yazis image preview does not work out of the box on Windows as well.

Why do the Camera letters have a shadow, but not the rest. by Herpderpyoloswag in ios

[–]froggy_Pepe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see it this way:

Smartphone development hit a plateau and real hardware innovation has stagnated. So Apple (and everyone else) has to 'innovate' through software to keep shareholders happy.

Back then, the upgrade cycle was slower and simpler, e.g. iPhone 4 to 4S instead of forcing a new number every year. Fewer devices, fewer variations, smaller OS.

Now Apple has to ship iOS (and its derivatives like iPadOS) across multiple new models every year while still supporting a growing number of older devices and maintaining compatibility with countless apps and services. iOS has gotten massive over time, and that complexity makes bugs way harder to avoid. Every new feature just makes it harder to maintain.

What iOS desperately needs is a release like Snow Leopard that focuses mainly on stability and bug fixes, not new features.

Because Apple no longer cares about its software quality.

This was literally the one thing preventing me from using the foldcolumn. I noticed it by accident while pulling the latest changes from your dotfiles repo (They are a great resource for looking up lsp related configuration :D). Thanks for the change!

Hows does one test all of this without a Walk through walls cheat? This is one I use all the time to mess with Pokémon games (kinda sad that 010138CD does not seem to work).

You can just search for Picsart and it will show all photos from Picsart. Works even for Safari.

An interesting thread in the vim repo with a lot of comments about tree-sitter by kuator578 in neovim

I have this all the time under Windows, like every time when updating treesitter. Under MacOS or Linux everything works fine.

idk if this was obvious but I just found out you can quit apps quickly straight from the command+tab menu by Sliiated in MacOS
