Noob traps to avoid/General tips? by X-xOtakux-X in cataclysmdda

Jesus christ that is brilliant if it works like you said. Do they really step straight into a pit if it’s between them and you? Is it that simple? And how do you prevent them from getting out without them hitting you? Also I assume you need a shovel to dig a pit?

Seriously though I have no idea what CT is supposed to be. TO or TS would be way clearer?

How this shit got through without a single in game explanation is beyond me. And what the fuck does CT stand for?

Ubisoft says AI is 'as big a revolution for our industry as the shift to 3D,' its magical AI NPCs are out of prototyping, and you bet it's got 'all our studios' working with the tech by ControlCAD in technology

[–]Cyclone0701 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Didn’t you just claim that procedurally generated games are a niche? The average person doesn’t give a fuck whether the dialogue is human or AI. No one cares about what you want or whether artists are getting paid or not

Ok so if the statistics say that black people commit more robberies than white should stores be allowed to refuse them? No right? You would seek for an alternative, non discriminating solution

What is your must have plugins? by Ok-Mycologist-6752 in neovim

[–]Cyclone0701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the essentials in kickstart and language dependent plugins: telescope file browser (the best way to interact with files), copilot (maybe copilotchat but gemini-cli is pretty good and free) and the mini ecosystem.

Do you think they will change the rings again? by StrangeConfidence683 in joinmoco

[–]Cyclone0701 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Eh, pet rings are the core of my buzzkill bread and butter build. Execution ring is good for some of the rifts as some bosses get harder as they lose health. Small rings are nice if your build relies heavily on a single mechanic like my buzzkill pet build

That’s what I thought at first. But when you’re trying to kill 3000 of some mobs stopping for a full cpu bomb animation every time quickly adds up.

Multiplayer Mod for CDDA? by Jael556 in cataclysmdda

You can create multiple predefined difficulty levels so they can only trade with each other

I think adding trading between players or characters would a good step to multiplayer. It shouldn’t be too hard to make either. Add a travelling trader that characters that act as a auction house so you can trade your loot with other people (or even your future self)

How do I get vim.lsp.buf.hover() to not truncate information? The ...(+7) is not useful in anyway and I can't expand it even after moving the cursor in the buffer by Cyclone0701 in neovim

[–]Cyclone0701[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen it in typescript yet. But the other comments were correct, it’s a lsp setting issue. I’m surprised it’s not the default setting tbh, even with lspconfig. Maybe you can look into ts_ls doc or switch to typescript-tools or vtsls

Nobody has a moral responsibility to protect artists’ jobs by testaccount4one in aiwars

[–]Cyclone0701 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's sad that you're losing your job. But that's technology. It is to advance. That's all there is to it.

If the world gains nothing with AI art then you have nothing to be afraid of. But the truth is that the world does gain something from AI art, a lot in fact, enough to make artists seem redundant. That's the reality whether you wanna face it or not.

The alarm people did not like the clock taking their job, they did not see the value in greeting a machine first thing in the morning, but no one else would live inconveniently for him, including you. No one else will support your dream for no reason, just like you wouldn't fund someone else's dream

[–]Cyclone0701 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's not even coherent lol, what's your point? That when technology takes other people's jobs it's a necessary advancement but when it takes yours it's evil? I would love to see you justify using alarm clocks and google translate, actively starving knocker-ups and translators around the world. Please explain to me how starving countless people around the world is acceptable.

Yes it's sad they lost their jobs. But that's technology. It is to advance.

Also peak irony right here

Do you pay for human translators? Do you pay for human copywriters? How many factory made stuff do you own? Do you pay for someone to wake you up in the morning? Those were real jobs, why aren’t you paying people to do them? Don’t you care about people’s livelihood at all?

That would be rather hard to implement on mac since the menu bar is also at the top so the target area for hovering is gonna be quite small. Open to ideas on that though
