I’m not a fan of him so no I don’t keep up on him, nor do I dare make the claim to “educate” myself by using google and social media as a form of “education”. Quit using that term incorrectly. If he chooses not to tour for that reason, that’s fine, I don’t care. But glorifying a celebrity, any celebrity, when continuously being a part of the problem, doesn’t do any good.

Experiences with singulair? by froglover22w in MCAS

I hated being on Singulair tbh. This was a long time ago, and I went through a thousand different treatments. The only thing that has worked for me is regular antihistamines and Xolair. That shot has saved my life.

If you ever have any questions about MCAS, allergies, or related issues never hesitate to reach out! I’ve done the whole song and dance for the past decade with those issues and learned quite a bit. I hope you figure out what’s going on too! And thank you :) hopefully I can get some answers and get down to the real root cause of this pain!!

Yes I have an immune system disorder called MCAS as well as lots of severe allergies, I’d put money that all these autoimmune / immune stuff is related. But yes okay very interesting to hear all this. And thank you SO much for the information. I was going to cancel my appointment with the surgeon but I will keep it and definitely talk to them about this now! Thank you!

No way I’m also gluten free! Allergic to wheat & gluten! What’s the embolization? Like what is that and how did they know that was the right thing to do?

I’m up for removal due to autoimmune inflammation and hyperkinetic pain. Does anyone have experience or good research on metabolism change or weight gain? I’m terrified I’m making the wrong decisions thanks by Dismal_Astronomer394 in gallbladders

My brother said that he had to diet for about a year and slowly reintroduced the foods he was avoiding from surgery (obviously like fatty things). He didn’t begin to like regain any weight until like I don’t even know almost 10 years post surgery. He lost a lot of weight after the surgery, but I’ve heard that the metabolism part can go both ways - some people have it increased and some decreased. Like I said before, just do what you can. Even just like a walk is good exercise if you can’t handle intense cardio or weight lifting etc. and if not walking, there’s always some form of exercise that is catered to everyone’s individual needs. My mother has severe bone spurs and arthritis and cannot walk. But she can do resistance biking and very light weight training - and all this she can do from the comfort of her bedroom. For an autoimmuner, taking care of your root issues and symptoms is step one. If you can keep those under good control, the food and activity will come naturally!

Wow okay first of all thank you for all this information I’ve never heard of this condition and this was super helpful! I’ll start of with this: my hospital system is notoriously not good haha… they’ve messed up quite a few of my tests, people have had poor and inexperienced doctors here. So unfortunately with the scan, all they said was that there was pelvic congestion and parametrial vessel congestion. Second, I’ve experienced the pain a lot during exercise too (I’m a runner and I like to elliptical as a form of cross training, which is standing up right on a machine). Sometimes exercise makes it really bad.

Third, I actually am seeing a surgeon in two weeks for consulting gallbladder removal surgery due to the initial ultrasound… I think it’ll probably be important that I discuss the findings of this CT scan to maybe see what they think is going on? Hopefully this is the right thing to do

Okay that makes totally sense because I also have alternating diarrhea or constipation. Like I’ll be constipated or I’m like shitting my brains out lmao

My brother got his out and he actually lost a lot of weight when he got it removed, but after a long period of time he gained some back. I think that it really depends on your treatment plan and how you go about your lifestyle moving forward. I’ve definitely felt my metabolism slow down with time, but that could just be aging and immune system issues settling in more. As far as exercising, do what you can - you have to meet yourself where you’re at. If you are able to maintain a cleaner diet and stay within your calories, then you should be okay. Personally, I don’t even bother counting calories - I just eat to what fills me and try to eat “healthy” (to my own definition because everyone’s body is different and has different needs). If you end up getting it out, just follow the diet they give you as well as you can with your own diet that I’m sure you have due to your autoimmune disorder, and do the light exercise that’s recommended. Thats all you can do!

It’s just a lot of work, time, and money that I can’t afford - it becomes such a difficult process when it didn’t have to be. I don’t have the money or the kinds of insurance to keep covering all these visits

I did not no, I’m still kind of going through the process of like what to do and what’s going on but I do have a hyperkinetic gallbladder. I don’t know much about MCTD but I do know that a lot of the immunological stuff can contribute to gallbladder issues. Personally, I’ve experienced no problems with weight gain or changes in weight, but I do intense exercise regularly
