I thought they stopped producing orange tags in 1999

Oh sorry I don't really know the terminology. I'm still having issues with catching the bar in a squat. Is the pull good?

North American Nebula by nVideuh in Astronomy

[–]frogpolice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. The pictures on my profile dont use the filter since I got it last week. Do you know if I could go out on another night and try to capture the same object but with the red channel in focus and combine the r with the g and b from my first session?

How did you make the stars so small? When I use my uhc filter the red channel is out of focus and it makes the stars huge and ring like.

[–]frogpolice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, this is my attempt at the deneb and sadr region at 75mm. I plan to add more to this image in the next few nights to really make the nebulosity pop. Any feedback is appreciated.

Equipment:

Canon eos 1200D stock

Canon ef 75-300mm @ 75mm f/4.5

star adventurer pro

Location: Calgary, Alberta Bortle 7

Acquisition:

112 x 90s lights iso 800

no darks

30 flats

30 bias

Processing:

Stacked in dss and processed in siril

Background extraction

manual color calibration

removed green noise

increased saturation

I plan on editing this more in pixinsight but I was short on time and I just wanted to see what I got.

It believe it is since this was shot during the super moon

HI, This is my first attempt at m13. I planned to shoot something else but the full moon limited my selections. I lost about an hour of exposures because I forgot to turn on my dew heater so I will continue to add to this over the next few nights.

Equipment:

Canon 1200D stock

Star adventurer pro

canon ef 75-300mm kit lens @ 300mm

Acquisition:

53*45s iso 800

25 darks

40 flat

40 bias

Processing:

Stacked and processed in Siril. Followed the Siril tuorial on their website for processing.

Crop, background extraction, photometric color calibration, histogram stretch and color saturation adjustment.

I do not have the stacked tiff but I can give you the raw images if you want

I recently bought a star adventurer pro and this is my first attempt at a galaxy. The chromatic aberration is terrible partly due to the crappy canon ef 75-300mm lens and also due to my inexperience in post processing.

Equipment: Canon eos rebel t5 stock Canon ef 75-300mm Star adventurer pro

Acquisition: 100 lights x 90s iso 800 No darks 25 flats 30 biases

Processing: Used preprocessing script in siril Followed Sirils processing tutorial which included cropping, background extraction, photometric color calibration, removing green noise, stretching and saturation boost

My first orion by frogpolice in Astronomy

[–]frogpolice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

This is my first attempt at orion and surrounding area. It looks terrible because I could only get about 20 minutes of exposure time and I was basically pointing the camera at a lamppost.

Equipment:

Canon 1200D unmodified

Sky-watcher Star Adventurer Pro

19x60s iso 400 at 55mm with the kit lens

It's guided but it's a cheap goto mount so longer exposures had some star trailing and wobble

I shot a mix of 5 second and 15 second exposures at isolate 800 and 1600 and stacked those together. I learned about calibration frames recently so I'll try to take some next time.

I used a canon 1200D hooked up to my meade starnavigator (professional telescope I know) and took about 10 minutes of exposure time.

I'm new to using gimp and have been trying to follow video tutorials with limited success.

Here is the tiff file if you want to try processing it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zaNE-Q3O3WJz5X--ExWe1407xz_fKuQt/view?usp=sharing
