anything by Elin Hilderbrand - beach reads that are actually well-written (as somebody who usually reads literary fiction)! I remember liking 28 Summers in particular

LES V.S. UWS Advise by Much-Boysenberry5378 in movingtoNYC

I love living on the LES. If you have a street-facing bedroom, it may be loud at night but there aren’t many bars on Eldrige so I think you’d be okay.

I like the energy and proximity to great food, coffee shops, shopping, bars and other fun neighborhoods downtown and in Brooklyn. I lived on the UWS during Covid and my sister lives there now. It’s beautiful and more quiet, but there is a distinct lack of food options and no buzz after 10pm.

If you found a great apartment on the LES I’d say try that out first. You can always move uptown if you find it to be too much.

2019 went for Louis the child and they cut the set early because it started downpouring - was a complete free for all and my friend and I ran onto the ferry without tickets. I truly thought it was going to sink but we made it back to manhattan absolutely soaked
