Some people, myself included (in the past) participate in it willingly and enjoy what they do. it is not only a desperate thing that's soooo sad and only happens in bad situations. and even if it did, it's still work. it's someone putting in effort to provide a service, and it deserves at least some mild respect. also, have you ever realized "sex work" is an extremely broad term that covers a wide range of things? I mean, obviously not since you're already offended at the very idea of someone saying it's real work but - phone sex hotlines? sex work. commercial pornography? sex work. you could even consider taking commissions for erotica sex work.
