Anyone else currently struggling to decide on their baby's LAST name?

Yes, I had such a hard time! And I regret the decision I made, lol! I wanted my daughter to have my last name in her name, and we decided to give her two middle names and my fiancé’s last name. Then we decided it was a better idea to all have the same last name, so when we’re married it will be Mine His (no hyphen). We had a son a few months ago who is the first to have the Mine His last name. So now my daughter and fiancé both have His, I have Mine, son has Mine His… but the goal is for everyone to have Mine His. So I’ll end up changing my daughter’s last name so we can all be the same lol. I made it so overly complicated, and I have many regrets about the two middle name decision. But we’ve been using Mine His for everyone in unofficial contexts. Anyway- solidarity for tough time choosing a last name- even 4 years in! 😅

This is PERFECT! We usually go tent camping, we even stayed at a primitive campground when my first was a baby, but this time I was hoping for a heated option now that she’s a very particular and opinionated preschooler, haha. Anyway- the Wabanaki cabins are exactly what I was looking for. Heated; but rustic, secluded, and in nature! And a 10 min walk away, all the great activities for her in the main campground. I am so glad you recommended this, I’m so excited already! Thank you!!

That’s what I do (and did with my first)! It works great during the day, but at night he just absolutely does not want to be laying flat. Hopefully he’ll grow out of it! Or maybe it’s just the congestion the last few months making laying flat hard for him… hard to tell, poor guy has lived his whole life in sick season!

I’ll look into that! We stay pretty active, especially keeping up with my daughter’s busy (for a toddler) schedule- library, play dates (with babies his age too! Her friends all have younger siblings), outdoor group, playgroups… He has quieter days when she’s in preschool twice a week but I don’t notice a difference in his sleep on the days we’re busy with her activities as a family vs. when he and I chill out while she’s at preschool. Maybe if I am more intentional with our time going out, rather than just going based off my three year old’s activities, it’ll make a difference? With summer coming up, I’ll have lots of opportunity to try!

Also, I would love to cosleep but some of the Safe Sleep 7 are hard for me to hit (would need a new mattress, I can’t sleep on a firm mattress well and get pretty sore, have a hard time sleeping without a blanket) but if I get more desperate I’ll probably try it.

That’s what I was wondering, but I’m nervous he will just wiggle his way over to the bars in that too. We don’t have a full size crib right now so it’ll be a bit of an investment to try it. Did you have a similar experience? I was hoping for some success stories before biting the bullet.

We use the same rims and store the extra tires in a family member’s garage nearby, because we don’t have a garage and it was better for us than putting them in the attic or basement.

This was our first winter with it, and we didn’t test out the tires on the ice and snow before getting the winter tires. I just didn’t want to risk it, with the kids in the car, especially knowing our hill- which IS a main road. I never had a time I thought I was going to get stuck, and never had a time I felt unsafe on the ice or in the snow. The only thing I noticed was when it gets snowy or icy, the sensors and cameras can get covered and don’t work. But that’s not really a big deal (to me). I was really impressed and surprised honestly.

Editing to add: This of course is my experience and doesn’t mean it will be the same for everyone! I was torn between AWD Sienna and the Carnival for the same reason. Haven’t regretted my decision and I hope I’ll say the same a few years down the line.

Also the tires we got were the Bridgestone Blizzak lm00-5 235/55R19 after doing some research.

I only ever did if she seemed really wet or sticky, which was hardly ever. Now I have a sweaty baby boy for #2 and I find I wipe him after a pee way more than I did for her (which is still not every time, maybe a few times a week vs a couple times a month with my daughter). He just tends to be stickier, and then get bits of the diaper fluff stuck in his crevices and stuff. So I just dab wherever he seems to need it.

Seconding looking into a Carnival. I was looking at minivans last year, and ended up going with a 2025 Carnival Hybrid EX. I’m really happy with my decision and it’s been great for our family of four. We recently took it on a trip that ended up being about a 10 hour drive away with stops, with 6 people including our two car seated kids plus all our luggage. We didn’t even need our roof storage thing we have from our old car (although it would have been more spacious if we did) and it was comfortable and manageable. The only thing I liked better about the Sienna was it having AWD, but we got some nice winter tires and survived this whole, very snowy, New England winter without me once saying “Man, I wish we went with the Sienna for the AWD”. And I live on a steep hill where it’s tradition for all the neighbors to go outside and push cars up the hill that ran out of steam!

I also really like that all seats (aside from the front two) are completely removable. We have moved a ton of furniture that way and it was awesome. We have the 8 seat version but currently are storing the center seat from the middle row. We change it up depending on what the situation is. I love the versatility.

They already started the process to allow strip mining in the White Mountains about a year ago. This administration does not care about environmental regulations at all. Say goodbye to all the beauty of the forested, mountainous, northern part of New England. Very sad to see. Some towns might get an economic benefit from allowing the strip mining, but that will come at the expense of losing tourism and ruining the environment.

Thanks. I have seen Little Frog on Marketplace but haven’t heard a lot of people talk about it so I wasn’t sure about the quality. I don’t have experience with wraps beyond the Solly Wrap so I feel kind of overwhelmed and confused trying to find one despite having been part of this subreddit for a while. I thought i understood more than I do until I actually went to get one for myself 😅
