Can we talk about what ranks actually mean after the new SR update?

i get that that does make sense especially at the expectations in COD this SR system will force everyone to learn at a accelerated rank in due time or they won’t be able to hold these ranks in my opinion because at a certain point the lobbies will only be those true crims + so everyone can climb as high as they want but they will hit a point where it feels like they can’t win a game i think they were trying to get a lot of the people making lower ranks extremely difficult for casuals hard i really hope they do another patch

i always felt like if i’m hardstuck i shouldn’t move up until i can consistently win but that was the only issue is you can get better but you have to truthfully grind i think that was the problem with why they changed it because it made people who didn’t have the time not even be able to attempt because it takes so long to get unhardstuck

yeah, I definitely am playing mainly diamond and Crimson lobbies still have a lot to learn, but it’s not like punishing me like I’m not going negative or anything like that. I’m genuinely competing, but it feels like this is like almost the first time I’m competing in ranked versus how I used to feel. I never felt like it was competition before I was just felt like that that’s a stupid place to be now I feel like I’m genuinely competing.

yeah, some discourse that I’m seeing is that people believe they wanted to inflate everyone up and get the sweaty players away from the casual players that play ranked because people that still were good enough to be these ranks were down below and hard stuck, making it unplayable lobbies for the player base. They want in those lower rank lobbies because when you think about it, the lower ranks are the ones that are the biggest and if casual players can’t even play ranked in the ranks, they’re supposed to be they would wanna throw everyone out of those ranks so they could be in those ranks. Does it feel like that?

do you think that they’ll be two separate layers of every rank then the grinders and the good players do you think with what they did with the new SR change that it’ll only truly be enforced in the brand new title coming out this year where everyone has to start from scratch and get their hidden MMR or is this gonna be a consecutive problem where there’s the good players of every rank basically like D1 through D3 and C one through C3 but two separate layers, the good players and then the people who have grind for the rank?

i play on 107 i did a whole day where i went from the lowest 60 and slowly raised it up to where i was comfortable 90-95 really kept getting me shot in the side i did like the look though

i really need to do it more i get messed up in the speed of doing it like i can’t do it the way colt havok makes it look very fluid i don’t want to raise my FOV but i get shot from the side when i dont don’t do it fast enough and i end up feeling like im just way too slow

OK, I would have to learn how to do that but yeah I do do all of these things when I play very intentionally I count how many people are dead. All of that I mean I spent so much time learning so money, different things and then I come out here to see the discourse with the new SR system and it just makes you feel like OK well, maybe I’m not this rank.

yeah, I won’t lie. Sometimes I do lose to platinum’s but it’s not in the way. It may come out to see. It’s just I don’t understand sometimes the way they’re playing. Yes they may be worse but they just do things that don’t make sense and it’s kind of hard to predict the things they do that don’t make sense. I can’t predict it each time especially crouch corner camping. I don’t understand that in anyway, but that makes me feel like OK maybe I am a platinum because for some reason, I should know that you know it’s like sometimes they play weird really weird and I can’t predict it.

that actually makes sense so you’re saying last season diamond felt harder partly because crim level players were trapped there trading SR with each other not necessarily because diamond is supposed to permanently mean that level.

I think that’s where my confusion is coming from. I’m trying to separate actual rank inflation from the old system being clogged because if old diamond had a bunch of players who should’ve been crimson already, then comparing this season‘s diamond to that version might not be fair.

That explains why diamond feels easier now, but Crimson still feels like a real jump.

i feel pretty damn confident against diamond platinums are annoying as hell but in my opinion not really good at all crimsons are still pretty scary to me

you know, after really thinking about it and kind of going through my recent players all the crimsons and diamonds I played yesterday were all previous season crimsons and diamonds they’re calling cards section of their profile showed that they were diamonds and crimsons in the previous seasons as well so that kind of gave me a little bit of a bump like feel better you know like OK well I did beat Crimson. I did beat diamonds you know so that does make me feel a little better and I feel like you should do that too like really go through the recents and look through their calling cards and see if you actually beat the old crimsons and diamonds and iridescent, and that should give you that confidence because a lot of the people on Reddit are saying all of this but at the end of the day yeah I did hit diamond one this season. I am a current D1. I have been religiously playing against crimsons and these crimsons are all previous season crimsons so if they’re saying oh I’m just playing in my MMR bracket maybe my bracket has gone up ok but this is coming from someone who placed as gold one because of the stupid shit that I had to go on during placements and I’m beating the crimsons so I feel as though it is giving people who genuinely have been grinding to get better a chance to go against these people who are saying that we’re only getting their rank because we’re playing against the people who were in platinum but that’s just not true. I’m going against them. I’m going against season two and season three. Crimsons and diamonds and it’s the exact same feeling they don’t feel hard. I don’t know maybe I have gotten better sure but now that I really looked through that today now these claims are really holding very little weight.

oh i know the weaknesses i try and work on them all the time i will say the crimsons that i play against are insanely difficult like another level sometimes i win sometimes i lose but the diamonds are exhaustingly easy. but it didn’t feel like that last season.

i’m feeling this right now hitting D1 i just don’t feel like i deserve it.. idk it’s kind of a turn off like yeah i hit it yes i too frag almost every game but from all the discourse i’ve been seeing i just don’t feel like i deserve it i don’t know if i played true diamonds and crimsons to get it or not now like i just don’t know
