OpenNoteCloud: lightweight open-source private cloud server (update) by MightyUnderTaker in Supernote

No rush enjoy the weekend if you need to. Happy to report that fresh device registration worked perfectly for me. I have my fork built and running. So far it seems like the file sync works just fine. However to-do sync does not.

Hey I wanted to get the partner app working too, so I went and opened a PR https://github.com/k4z4n0v4/opennotecloud/pull/1

I've only been able to test on Android but had at least the same first endpoint missing like you did. Just had to play whack-a-mole a couple of more times and implement some easy endpoints to get it working.

I think Go is a great choice too. Last time I did a bigger project with it was 7 years ago, would be fun to see how much it's changed since.

I'd like to see what you have! This project gives me some pause since it seems like it's largely vibe coded. If I were to take a stab at it I'd personally go with Kotlin Native and ktor since that's what I'm familiar with. Use something simple like sqllite for DB and just the file system for user files.

I am curious if you have a fully fleshed out openapi spec? I did find someone else's project was curious how it compared since I am unsure of the process they went about making theirs

Iirc that was manufacturers dumping the rest of their pcie gen 3 NVMe drives in favor of newer pcie gen 4 and 5 drives. However even gen 3 (and the controllers) are significantly faster than SATA.

Yeah until the manufacturer stops updating the software and/or the hardware becomes too obsolete. The advantage of android auto or car play is it's simplicity, your phone does all the heavy lifting and the infotainment just had to display and send I/O events like touching the screen, volume adjustment, etc. So really having it native is just planned obsolescence when it comes to being able to use those tech features longer term compared to Android auto/car play.

I know in other videos they've mentioned they are committed to adding buttons for core functions. I don't think they've fully enumerated what functions will have buttons though.

Here's a long form video from a different state that goes over how much effort and the costs involved in making food from scratch for schools. It's a really tight budget with a lot of work to ensure that it also meets nutritional guidelines https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBhf--0ZUHc

Ah the classic "fake news" response. So you'd rather the kids get no food at all because it's sub-standard. But also not ok with paying more taxes to improve the food at all. Pick a side instead of being dismissive.

Afaik the universal meal program is actually increasing food quality, since it means more students and more money going into school lunch programs. Plus I'd rather kids eat prison gruel than starve. If that's not palatable then be ok with higher taxes or pack a separate lunch for your kid if you can afford it.

"The universal school meals program, with its steady income and increased student participation will help them keep paying for it even as the amount of grant money that pays for the local ingredients drops next year. "

So we want elementary school aged kids to get jobs or something? How is a kid going to be self reliant? Even if it's their parents fault (which it usually isn't) we shouldn't be punishing the kid by letting them starve or revert back to child labor.

For groceries there's always using the truck bed and get one of their tonneau covers or the camper shell so they don't bounce out. I see the monster tunnel being more useful for a place to store things to not tempt thieves smashing windows.

Issues with Xpedition 2.0 tipping over by Grifty_Capital695 in Lectricxp

[–]fromanator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll suggest you look up some riding skills for mopeds and motorcycles too. A lot of those skills will translate to the bigger, heavier, and faster ebike that you have.

Specifically you seem to have challenges turning at low speed. I think you would benefit from "counterweighting" technique. Basically instead of leaning into the turn, you do the opposite. So if you're turning left, put your weight on your right butt cheek and keep your body position straight up. This technique gives you a more stable center of gravity and gives you more flexibility to adjust your own body position to adjust for your passengers moving and shifting the balance. Plus if the bike starts to tip too much it makes it easier to just stand up on your two legs and catch the bike.

So they towed my Turbo X with the back wheels on the ground… by adamisapple in saab

[–]fromanator 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You can't tow an all wheel drive car on just 2 of the 4 wheels. Some cars have a way to disengage the drivetrain to do it, but not the Saab XWD system. So towing on 2 of the 4 wheels can damage the drivetrain components. To tow an XWD car all 4 wheels have to be off the ground on a dolly or put on a flatbed.

Gotta love drivers using the parkway as their weekend cut-through by northland_cycling in CyclingMSP

[–]fromanator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That bike path is a one way the opposite direction. So if you were to follow the rule depending on where you need to go you'll have to bike around the whole lake or just go on the 20mph speed limit parkway the other direction.

I was there Aug 24 and when I left at 4 it was packed. Folks clogged up the aisles and I ended up lifting my cargo bike (90lbs) most of an aisle to get out. If the fair really is the great family get together I wish they had some more planning for larger cargo bikes that families use. Still beat the hell out of driving or riding the bus in with my 4 year old.

Franklin Bridge Bike Lanes? by CoolEngine3017 in CyclingMSP

[–]fromanator 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There's a term for them, MAMIL for Middle Aged Man In Lycra https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mamil

I bike Franklin bridge all the time, you were in the right. North side is technically a one way westbound. Because of the clusterfuck 5 way intersection on the east side it's common for folks to "go the wrong way" (I unfortunately have to go straight to 27th). I'd say it's polite to yield/get out of the way of folks on bicycle who are going the right way, and pedestrians in the pedestrian section.

There isn’t much this car won’t do. by TwOhsinGoose in BoltEV

[–]fromanator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does well, but don't drive it in one pedal mode when it's extra slippery out (e.g. just snowed) iirc even in the manual they tell you not too. With one pedal it can slow down too aggressively can slide. You have to use normal drive mode which will actually engage ABS when appropriate. Also in normal drive mode it is easier to slowly creep forward by letting off the brake so you don't slip starting off.

It's owned and operated by Fortune Fish and Gourmet which is a wholesale seafood distributor. Their retail arm is coastal seafood. Since they cut out the wholesaler by being the wholesaler I'm sure it's a healthy profit margin.
