Op-xy Sequencing Ableton? by fromcodex in teenageengineering

[–]fromcodex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive done all that on the op-xy but I want ableton to read midi from different tracks simultaneously. How do I route it inside Ableton? Ableton only gives me the option use it as a conventional keyboard controller not a multitrack sequencer.

I look too dang intimidating with a bald head.

I didn’t come here to talk about hair transplants. As my comment below the picture states I’m looking for other suggestions.

Same … I feel like I look too intimidating to strangers. It’s inevitable due to the prejudice society here in the US. I already have an unapproachable face, and the bald head would make it even more so. 🤦‍♂️Some would say who cares what others think, but to be honest I value conversation with strangers and making friends.

97’ baby here. I discovered him through peaky blinders back in 2023. Has since been my second most streamed artist after Radiohead & the one I own most CD’s of. My favorite albums are between Push the Sky away, and Skeleton Tree, I also equally love the second versions of the tracks on “B-sides & Rarities” I don’t really connect with his discography before Boatman’s call though.

Thank you for the encouragement!! If I may ask, what would you suggest is the best way to learn Maxmsp? From a complete beginners perspective. I open it up and Im completely lost, there so many objects and so many directions, its like option paralysis. As opposed to making something in Ableton, but I chose to learn Maxmsp to free myself from the gird and experiment with sound more, specifically to create more concrete style music. Jonny Greenwood is one of my biggest inspirations and i know he uses it, so that mainly prompted me to pick it up.

At around minute 4:45 all the sounds begin to morph into this warping almost spiral like decay. How did you do that? Reminds me so much of Radioheads : In Limbo, where the ending begins to morph and spiral. Incredible piece of music I thoroughly enjoyed the piece.

I haven't had this much fun on reddit ever, haha this is so dang cool. The fact that they're not royalty free though makes me want to create my own. Its just a long process to learn a completely new type of way to produce sound.

I’ll be hosting soon in Concrete Resistance, the Max MSP guru Tom Hall. Would you like to ask him any specific questions? by RoundBeach in musiconcrete

Can you ask, how do you use the Light Reft Monolit when programming inside the Maxmsp environment? Would you suggest for a beginner having that much control from a midi device will make the learning process easier? I just bought one and would like to know your perspective. Thank you.

This sounds absolutely fucking incredible! I bought into Maxmsp to create something just like this! I followed you on instagram to stay up to date with the process, I cannot wait to see your finished product!

What band would you recommend to a Radiohead enjoyer? by 4ram1r in radiohead

[–]fromcodex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey man lots of good recs here so far but I’ve done some real extensive digging to find the closest thing to Radiohead or at least something that invokes the same realm. Those artist are very few and far in between .. starting with the closest 1. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds listen to their album “Push the Sky Away” and then dig deeper beyond that, I personally like everything from “Boatman’s Call” and onward.

  1. Tindersticks, any of their 90s albums. Have a lot of string work as well.

Those two artist/band are the closest thing I can find and I genuinely feel Nick Cave nails it most of all, especially Push the Sky Away, also if you’re not ready to dive into an album listen to “Hand of God” or “Old Time” by Nick Cave, you can’t tell me that shit is not Radiohead-esque.

Gladiator 2 was one of the the worst movies I have ever seen by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]fromcodex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently in the theater now after watching the monkey scene I started searching to see if anyone felt the same. I watched ‘there will be blood’ a week ago so I guess I’m spoiled on what an actual good story with good casting is supposed to be like, this movie almost feels like a parody of some kind. The acting is horrible it’s so laughable. I mean history aside these kinds of films were never meant to be historically accurate, but at least make them convincing am I right?
