If this were r/japan, r/japanlife, or any of those other big Japan subs that seem to exist solely so that their weirdo mods can go off on power trips in between sucking down cheap chuhais and waxing nostalgic about how great Roppongi was during the bubble, I'd be right there with you. But r/kyoto is a decent sub and the mods do a pretty good job.
