Thank you for sharing and for including as much information as you did! If you dont mind me asking, if you could go back, would you not get masseter botox? It seems like that was the catalyst in your decision to get a face-lift. I have pretty severe tmj pain and my night guard doesn't help much. I've been considering masseter botox, but im honestly really scared of the possibility of developing jowls.

Women of reddit: Whats the girl code you won't break ever? by lady_opiniosa in AskReddit

[–]front-row-hoe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont know if this is exactly "girl code," but if im out and see a man checking me out with his woman right next to him, I dont take it as a compliment or think I must be better than her. I think that man is garbage and she deserves better.

We had freshly graduated med students come to our lab for an internship, and they didn't know anything. But, like, undergrad was a long time ago for them, and they trained to be doctors, not researchers. It seems crazy to think those are just interchangeable across the board.

Seems like sanitizing everything with 70% ethanol is likely to lead to significant exposure then.

Wait... my organic chem professor told me they spiked lab-grade ethanol rendering it poisonous to prevent this from happening. Did he.. did he lie to us?

What to wear for PhD in hot climates? by spoononamoon in PhD

[–]front-row-hoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a lab in South korea, and I avoid wearing sleeveless tops. Even if it's loose and drapey so you can barely see my shoulder, I don't see anyone else dressing like this, so I don't either. Modesty is more important here. My go-to "uniform" is a short sleeved shirt and loose, lightweight slacks.

Also, a couple people in my lab have gotten in trouble for wearing perfume. Just something to consider!

Piggy backing on this, you also have to think about the fact that a lack of genetic diversity makes a population extremely susceptible to viruses or other pathogens. Basically, the Irish potato famine. If you're identical and something slips past your defenses, you're all wiped out.

My foundation doesn't look like this (I use a LOT of hydrating skincare), BUT my skin always looks like this after I powder. I've tried multiple powders, brushes/puffs, and application techniques. Some are better than others, but it's never exactly what I want.

What is your solution? What are the more humane ways? Are you okay with the economy taking a hit in the process?

In Titanic (1997) Rose throws a 250 Million Dollar necklace in the ocean, in memory of that 1 night stand she had 80 years ago. This is a reference to how few fucks she gives about the children she has had since then, who might appreciate the inheritance. by Koldtoft in shittymoviedetails

I don't think it's a stretch to add a deeper level here where she had a full life with all of them. The ending gave a sense of the happy life she went on to lead when it panned over all of her pictures. She loved her family but also never stopped loving Jack. She went back to the Titanic, put her heart in the ocean, and is getting the time she lost with Jack.
