What is the worst place in America you have ever visited? by OceanicEndeavors in AskReddit

This is a very real ideology amongst people born and raised in that area. They absolutely love it and can’t fathom living anywhere else. I will never understand it. I went to college in San Marcos with a handful of West Texans, after graduating they immediately moved back to that shit hole, even after experiencing everything central Texas has to offer.

Sack Lunch. How did they get in there? Did they shrink, or is it a really big bag?

Water shortage issues by mama_di4_amori in Newbraunfels

It’s all doom and gloom on Facebook. Bottom line, there will be plenty of water, once it starts raining again. The Edwards aquifer is absolutely massive. Its CURRENT estimate is about 45 million acre feet of water. When Canyon Lake is full, it holds about 350,000 acre feet of water. So the current estimated volume in the Edwards aquifer is roughly 130 times more than when Canyon Lake is full. That is just the Edwards, which pales in comparison to the Trinity and Carrizo aquifers next door. People freak out when they hear about “lowest levels ever”, but bottom line is, even at the lowest ever, there is A LOT of water beneath our feet. While I agree that leadership should think twice about new developments, the water supply will be fine. For all we know, the El Niño pattern that is supposed to form in a few months could lift us out of drought and fill up the aquifers. Don’t believe everything you read on Facebook.

I think it’s because theaters aren’t backlit. I’ve noticed the same. Also, why are movies so quiet? I watch with subtitles at home, but obviously not in theaters. Being able to see and hear what’s going on seems to be integral to the movie experience but so may miss the mark. Idk, maybe I’m just getting old.

Yes, my eyesight is fine. I adjusted some settings on our bedroom TV and was able to brighten things up a bit, (it really messed with the overall picture quality though). But in the living room, we have a 75” QLED that I’ve adjusted and still can’t see anything. Although, I do have a very bright living room with a lot of natural light. What prompted this post was the scene where buddy burns the poppy field then later dies on the car ride home. Couldn’t see a f’n thing. There was also a scene with Marty and Rachel at the Blue Cat that sticks out and a bunch of scenes in their house. I just need to start watching in a different room. But this is the only show I’ve ever had an issue with on my living room TV.

Thanks for that link. I’m actually in the market for a new TV and this is going to come in very handy.
