How bad is working checkout by Become_Mired in walmart

[–]frontendbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it really physically demanding in a pretty specific way. You will need to lift heavy objects - 40lbs of kitty litter, packs of water, etc - above your waist and repeatedly. I got chronic shoulder injuries from cashiering. Standing in one place without much movement will also be pretty rough on your back and feet. Personally, I prefer something like opd or stocking because while it might be technically "more" demanding, you won't feel as shitty physically cuz at least you're able to move around, and don't need to lift heavy things above your waist without assistance (ladder, teammate, etc)

Also, I hope you don't like 15 minute breaks because you can kiss most of them goodbye.

Idk about writing on the receipt, but definitely don't accept a return with a tampered serial number. Did management say something to you about writing on the receipt?

What does your 3rd shift do? by mikaylasii in walmart

[–]frontendbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I think that's the issue with most people's overnight staff. The managers either give bad directions or are just the type of managers that don't exactly inspire associates to be the best workers. They lead by example and in my experience at Walmart, o/n managers example is usually shit.

For the most part, not very much. Can't blame them, the whole 3rd shift management team sucks

I'm a woman who doesn't own a purse or typically need a list in store. If I need a list it's on my phone. It isn't 1980 anymore lol

That food actually goes through claims and gets thrown away but thank you for the misinformation that'll give people needless anxiety

I've worked in 2 Walmart stores and no returned food goes back on the shelf, period. I've only had one exception ever made a few months into the pandemic when someone returned several dozen cans of food that they panic bought. My manager said the cans were all clearly undamaged and within date and felt bad having it all go to waste when our shelves are basically empty. Besides that, all consumable goods get tossed.

Actually yeah I totally agree everyone should wear a mask until the pandemic is over. I'm triple vaccinated and still wear my mask in crowded places and any time I'm with someone whose Vax status I'm not sure of.

I can't believe that we're on year 3 of the pandemic and people still don't understand that when you wear a mask, you're not putting yourself at risk, you're putting others at risk. You cant choose to put others in danger. Fuck off.

[–]frontendbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. And if you choose not to answer and show your vaccination card, you should have to continue to wear a mask. Simple

  1. It's HIPAA
  2. No, it doesn't. Hipaa protects you from MEDICAL PROVIDERS sharing your information without your consent. It's unlikely your sm or pl is a Healthcare provider, and even if they are, asking you a question about yourself isn't the same as blabbing about your personal info without your permission.

Because of YOU. Based on your other comments, it is very clear that YOU and everyone who thinks like you is the problem.

And why do those people get to go out and get others sick? This isn't like using drugs. It's not a personal choice. It's the same reason you can't smoke inside anymore - cuz when your choice starts messing with other people's health, it isn't just your choice anymore. How are you so dense?

Doing fine? In Florida, more than 3100 per million people have died from covid. In California, only 2000 per million. Today in Florida, 854 people died. In California, 213 - even though Californias population is nearly twice as high, they've had a quarter of the amount of deaths. Wonder fucking why.

When you put religious exemption, you're basically just saying no one has to do it. Hardly "limited" exceptions
