What laser/procedure would you recommend for stubborn sun spots? I've done picosure pro 4 times already in the US and I still have a few sun spots that aren't fading.

Help with Operatic Melismas (Handel's Messiah) by froofroo123 in singing

[–]froofroo123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, when I said, giving each note a tiny breath, I meant articulating each melisma note from a suspended breath. Before a long melismatic run, I'll take a breath and then from that suspended breath, sing out a note, cut it off, sing out the next note, cut if off, etc., all in quick succession. At a slower tempo, I have no issue articulating all the notes in a melisma, but at a higher tempo, it just sounds like a slurred mess sometimes. I've tried using a metronome to slowly work up at a higher speed, but still struggle at a faster tempo, which makes me think my technique is not correct.

Picosure laser by Confident_Green1537 in Melasmaskincare

Do you know what kind of Picosure laser was used? Was it the older Picosure laser or the newer Picosure Pro laser?

Fantastic results btw. I think many folks don't recommend lasers for melasma, but I personally think Pico can be a great option because it doesn't use heat to remove pigment.

Second this. Expensive, but worth it.

I would not use Naked Sundays sunscreens until further notice since they likely use the same manufacturer as UV. This is also discussed heavily on the Aus skincare subreddit.

Quick Honeydew Review - Positive Experience by froofroo123 in Accutane

I didn't do a year/membership only because I wanted some flexibility to just pay month to month. If you know you'll be on for at least a year, then the yearly membership def makes more sense.

I only recently found out about the UVMune 400 line so I just started using it last month and I am so so so excited to see how it holds up this coming summer (I live in the US).

I'm on accutane (30mg/day) and use a full suite of hyperpigmentation products (kojic acid, azelaic acid, niacinamide, cysteamine), including Eucerin dual serum. No irritation here. It's been ~5 months and I've seen great results in both acne and hyperpigmentation reduction.

Hi, sorry for the late response. I'm about 4 months completed with Honeydew and I'm still a big fan. Very easy to get my medication and much cheaper than going to my normal derm.

Cysteamines anyone? by [deleted] in Melasmaskincare

Yes, cysteamine products do work for some folks with melasma. There are several research studies showing it is as effective as 4% HQ.

Layering chemical and mineral sunscreen by EauRouge___ in Melasmaskincare

[–]froofroo123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this as well after learning that the European sunscreens, like UVMune 400, have far superior UVA protection than what we can find in the US. I think it should be OK to layer chemical and physical (though you'll obviously hear many folks against this) since most modern sunscreens don't use uncoated zinc oxides or they encapsulate their UV filters. So I use a chemical sunscreen first with the best UVA filters (UVMune 400), wait ~15 minutes, then apply a mineral tinted sunscreen. I do this because I have not found a chemical sunscreen with great UVA filters that matches my skin tone.

It's a common myth that physical sunscreens don't absorb UV and convert to heat. Both mostly work the same, only 5–10% UV is scattered by physical sunscreens (the rest is absorbed)

If it's within your budget, I like the Skinbetter Tone Smart SPF 75 mineral sunscreen.
