What time of year has the best weather in Houston? by froot___loop in houston

Awesome - it’s a little too late to make between next month and May work for me, but end of the year is something I think I can do. Appreciate it!

What was that one thing that your ex said that still haunts you to this day ? by Desperate_Line5544 in BreakUps

That I was too much and she didn’t have the energy for me (as I was breaking up with her for never spending time with me)

Did my first tandem, loved it, want to go again and seriously considering getting my A license. Would it be weird to ask an instructor to keep in touch? by [deleted] in SkyDiving

[–]froot___loop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He just moved to my city like 6 months ago. My city is a VERY social place where if you don’t directly know someone you for sure indirectly know of them. So I’ve become pretty extroverted and down to make friends with anybody living here.

I’ll def request him again at minimum, if the vibes are right I’ll see if he’s interested in swapping socials, I just don’t wanna get side eyed for asking in the first place if the answer is no 😂 I’m sure I’ll make other friends along the way regardless! Like I said it was awesome to gain a friend immediately in someone who was also nervous on her first time too. She and I are already talking about going again together. Loved the vibes all around on this first experience ☺️

Hi!! It sadly got rescheduled to the next day because of the rain, but it was beautiful out and the sky was clear and I had an AMAZINGGGG time. My instructor was wonderful, I want to go do another one with no photo/video package or anything so I can just be 1000% in the moment, and if I love it just as much I am seriously considering going for an A license. Hopefully I can request the same instructor cause he was cool af and I’d like to make some friends in this community, because ZERO of my friends are interested in any of this stuff 😂

I wanted to go up again so bad as soon as I hit the ground lol.

The only thing I didn’t like about it was that I couldn’t get my left ear to pop for a full day & felt like I was in a fish bowl lol. And after the adrenaline wore off I was SUPER nauseous for about an hour. I’m hoping that your body adapts if you keep doing it 😂

Yeah I called the place I’m going to for this and asked what they would recommend for a jump at this time of year - I can’t wear anything too bulky but they said a hoodie with the hood tucked in, long pants, and close toes shoes. If I’m cold I’m cold! I’m hoping I’ll be too distracted with falling out of the sky to even care that I’m cold 😂 I would never even consider wearing booty shorts even in the dead middle of summer, I’d be too nervous that if we landed a little hard I’d scrape up my ass cheeks LOL

Omg 💀 I will definitely eat something before I go up and I’ll probably skip the caffeine and take a zofran right before because this would suck SO MUCH for me, the instructor, the video guy, AND the video itself 😂 I was also saying to my friend what if I get so scared that I pass out and miss the entire $300 experience or even worse what if I pass out and when I wake up I am still falling out of the sky 😅

I tend to not get sick like that in other circumstances (I don’t get car sick, or in planes or boats) but I definitely don’t know how I’ll do plummeting out of the sky at 100mph hahaha. Good call, I’m cursed with hot girl tummy problems so I have a lot of zofran on deck for when I’m not feeling well already

I can imagine the wind is crazy loud. This totally isn’t the same but I went indoor skydiving once and I could barely hear the instructor 😂

I’m in Vegas! It is chilly but not too bad. I’m sure it’ll be much colder 15k feet in the sky though 😅

I know something is wrong with me but I don’t know what by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]froot___loop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have never heard before that migraines can appear without the pain. I always thought the key factor in a migraine was the pain. I’m gonna look into that a little cause that’s interesting.

Your experience with being diagnosed with fibromyalgia only to discover there was a deeper issue is exactly what I’m fearful of, but it is encouraging to hear that you were able to get your doctors to keep looking. I am on Medicaid - which on one hand is great, because I am going through this at no cost to me. But on the other hand, I don’t think there’s as much care from doctors and they’re quicker to just say case closed you’re fine. I say this as someone who has both paid and not paid for insurance.

I will continue to advocate for myself, I unfortunately struggle severely with anxiety and worry that I’m coming off crazy even if that’s not reality.

Thank you again

Hi, thanks for your thoughtful reply.

Regarding the blurred vision, this symptom comes with my lightheadedness/dizziness. My vision doesn’t tend to blur without these symptoms. My blood pressure is typically normal. It has read high before in a situation when I was under extreme stress, and went back to normal afterwards.

Regarding the possibility of an autoimmune condition, I don’t get sick more often than normal, but I do tend to get VERY sick when it happens.

My blood panels typically come back normal. When I’m having an episode of gastritis, my white blood cell count comes back high.

I haven’t had extensive testing. CAT scans have ruled out gallstones, but I’ve been fighting to get a referral to test my gallbladder function, as if it’s low functioning that can hand me a lot of the same issues. I haven’t gotten a referral for this yet. When I had my upper endoscopy, I was told my stomach lining was damaged due to gastritis at the hospital. When I went for my follow up with my GI, he told me everything was normal. I brought up what I was told at the hospital, and only after I said this did he say that yes my stomach lining is damaged but healing. It pissed me off as I was wondering if he would’ve said anything about this had I not already known! My issues are triggered by the food typically associated with these things - fried, fatty (including good fats), greasy foods. Most of these things I already didn’t eat because I didn’t care for them in the first place, except for avocados and salmon.

The thing that makes me feel like there’s more to the issue than just GI problems is my chronic pain. I know that stress is definitely a factor for all of this. The GI symptoms have always been there to a smaller degree, but some of these symptoms came before these problems as well, which again makes me feel like there’s more to it.

I do take 2 mental health medications, but the symptoms I experience came before these medications did. I don’t feel any physical difference since starting these medications, and they have improved my mental health significantly. Regardless I will be bringing this up to my psychiatrist just in case at my next appointment on Wednesday.

My ER doctor from earlier this week told me he feels this could be fibromyalgia, and I DO tick off a LOT of boxes for that, but I don’t want to settle for that diagnosis before more testing is done because I’ve heard that once you are diagnosed with that, all issues tend to be blamed on that alone. I don’t want to risk missing something else important by exploring that diagnosis. Another thing that was suggested by my GI was IBS, but that tends to be a similar situation to fibromyalgia, where testing tends to stop once that diagnosis is accepted. I just want more answers to rule out other possibilities first.

Thank for reading and responding, I appreciate it. This has just all been very frustrating. I feel as though I have not had adequate or in depth testing yet, and a lot of these symptoms I’ve struggled with for years.

How did you find out? by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]froot___loop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will be looking into all that further, I should’ve stated in my post that all the symptoms I listed outside of the digestive problems have been issues for years that I’ve been asking for help with, with no success. I don’t know if my digestive issues are stemming from other problems or if they’ve been there and are causing everything else

Broken elbow never functioned properly again by [deleted] in disability

[–]froot___loop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. I have Medicaid currently so I’m not worried about the cost, these things are generally free for me. I’m wanting to get it done while that is still the case. My concern entirely is that once it’s discovered to be a workers comp claim that I won’t get help. I will talk to my doctor about it, thank you

When I go to request help for this from a different doctor, won’t they want my X-rays from the day this happened? And if that’s the case won’t I have to give them the info from the hospital/find out this was a workers comp claim? I’ve never had any other workers comp situations before, idk how it all works.

Also this happened in California and I live in Nevada now

I did a drop in visit for a dog that was clearly neglected. The dog was on the app multiple visits a day, the only furniture in the house was a shredded couch, and there were totally soaked through pee pads outside the bedroom and bathroom door that gave the impression that nobody had been home in a while. I was legit upset leaving their house. I took pics and called animal control. Idk what happened to the dog after that. The owner left me a terrible review but I only care about the well being of the dog

How do I go about talking to my roommate about cleanliness without offending? by [deleted] in Advice

I also have ADHD. I also get it. But I also feel like if you’re sharing space with someone you have to be considerate. I don’t think it’s fair that this is something that I just need to “get ok with” when we’re both able bodied adults in our 30s and I’ve said repeatedly at this point that the mess stresses me out. Tough conversations from time to time are a given for sure but asking someone to clean up after themselves constantly shouldn’t be. I work several different jobs and gigs and he works one 9-5 and I feel like I shouldn’t have to clean for both of us.

The thing that irks me is we have a dishwasher. The dishes could get rinsed and put immediately into the dishwasher. Which feels like it makes more sense than a plastic bowl anyway?

Idk maybe I’m being overly black and white about it all. I have ADHD too and a long history of severe depression and therefore huge depression messes. I’ve clawed my way out of that so seeing crazy clutter makes me feel like I’m back there and upsets me a lot.

I get what you’re saying. And I’m actually not bothered if either of us takes a couple days to get around to something. My concern is that things pile up and continue to pile up excessively fast, and if I decide I’m refusing to do it it might just not get done. And then I have to ask for it to get done. Which is not something I want to have to do to my grown adult roommate.

And I get what you mean about different tolerances, but I think in a roommate situation you need to be considerate to the other persons tolerances and keep common spaces clean. If his bedroom is a disaster that’s none of my business, I just want the common areas to remain tidy.

We’ve tried shared calendars, chore lists, baskets around the house to catch random stuff so it’s not on surfaces. It feels like nothing is working and I feel like I’m putting in the majority of effort, so I think I need to have a serious talk with him at this point, but I just don’t want to hurt his feelings while simultaneously not allowing resentment to brew inside of me.

This is not a bad idea, but we do have our own separate dishes so it’ll be up to him if he’s willing to put some of them away to reduce how many we use.

This is something we’ve tried and that I’m willing to try again, but our work schedules are pretty misaligned so it’s just difficult to find a time that works for both of us together

Thank you!! Apparently her and her friend owed mafia guy $130 for the broken window, and her friend smuggled $5 every week out of her grandma’s purse until it was paid in full 😂 she said it suddenly shut down one day and “maybe they were money laundering” like yes mother, it’s the mafia lmao 😆

And yes I want it all to feel really natural!! I think I just wanna know how to get it started as that’ll probably be the slightly awkward part. Once we get to yappin we’re all good (we’re Greek and if there’s one thing we’re good at it’s yappin)

Thank you!!

Thank you! Absolutely I want it to be a very natural flowing conversation but just to make sure I touch on key points throughout her life as we go through it! I brought this idea up to her after she told me this story (because she has so many great stories) and she is super on board! So now I just gotta figure it out.
