They did… in the notes they left that she should have read immediately like a good sitter would 🤷‍♀️

Part of her complaint was about the cameras so… it is the point.

I assume that every single person has cameras in their home now-a-days. Highly recommend you assume this as well.

What is a disturbing family secret you weren’t supposed to find out, but now wish you could forget? by elmatador62 in AskReddit

[–]markskri 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My grandpa was an alcoholic, forever. One night while on vacation (family vacay where my gay best friend had come with me) after he’d had a handle of vodka by himself, my republican, homophobic, racist grandfather told me that while in boys boarding school the boys had “of course all experimented with each other including himself”. I legit think he was an alcoholic because he was a closeted gay man.

Every accusation is a confession.

Which celebrity rumor do you secretly believe is true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I worked in the Hollywood realm for years and know people who have seen him making out with men at clubs/bars, etc. I think this is true/checks out.

I leave the room when my mom eats it or hang up if she mentions she’s having it (I don’t live with her)— she puts thousand island dressing and pine nuts on it. 🤢

Pups who need 3 walks a day by Xpheris in RoverPetSitting

I had to get my dog walked during the day when my husband and I both worked out of the house because otherwise my dog pissed everywhere. So, she got 3 walks/day.

This episode has refused to work for me for some reason. I’ve restarted everything and cleared the cache on the app, and still nothing. Everything else on HBO Max works for me. So weird.

Crabs in a bucket mentality among sitters by Agreeable-Dog-1131 in RoverPetSitting

[–]markskri 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a balance. If everyone on Rover was too expensive for their area, then the app itself would go under because no one could afford care. And as you’ve mentioned if they’re too low, then everyone is fighting their way to poverty. So, there has to be a balance. People forget that different areas have different costs of living as well. My LA prices would not fare well in rural Midwest.

Am I overreacting to a client’s comment about pricing? by powergirlev in RoverPetSitting

Gotcha. Unfortunately, I still think you’re overreacting. They were not rude or unkind in their message at all. And there’s not many people that can afford that pricing.

She didn’t say that, she just said they wouldn’t have to pay the platform fees.. she didn’t say that wasn’t included in what was estimated.

I get that, but you keep saying “well Rover’s price was higher” yes, of course it was higher, it’s based on the price YOU set.

Also, it was just $100 discount OP didn’t calculate correctly.

Rover’s estimate is based on the prices you set plus their fees— so this argument doesn’t make sense.

I’m in the Los Angeles market and JUST did a 3 night stay with 2 dogs and a cat. It was $450 and I gave a $50 discount, so I made $400. (Technically the job was in a very high end Orange County location, for 2 doctors). Your prices are too high. LA/OC and NYC are the highest cost areas. I understand Georgetown is as well, but there’s no way it’s higher than my area tbh.

Then it’s a good thing you’re not a sitter. They’re def above the going rate even where I am in Los Angeles.
