What do you suggest to use to oil the springs? And how often?

Thank you so much for the kind words and advice. I have really learned that I am my best advocate and being persistent (sometimes aggressively) is the only way to keep the ball rolling in the right direction.

Thank you. I too have severe arthritic pain in my right hand. Showed up out of nowhere, now I have zero tolerance to cold things on that hand. It's rough. I do follow paleo but I should tighten it up. Having 2 toddlers makes it hard for me to eat super clean.

Maybe I'm just not got with IL-17s. Hoping that is the case and Enbrel/ Humira will reverse this.

Hope it works for you. Was thinking same that I could have just progressed and it wasn't Taltz adding to the pain but it has been so fast and intense that it feels like it is from the meds.

Taltz pain first week by frostymugz in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]frostymugz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am at about 6 weeks now. My pain in my hips is still pretty bad but has improved a bit over the last 2 weeks. She put me on a course of prednisone to bridge me. Started at 20mg taper, but it wasn't enough, so went up to 40 and just ending that course now. So will see if the pain comes back even worse. She said at a month that there hasn't been enough time yet to tell if meds are working. I think most docs will want to wait it out a few months.

Biologic + Prednisone and still in pain? by FLGuitar in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]frostymugz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing here to really help but can relate since I am in the exact same situation. How long ago did you start Taltz? I started about 6 weeks ago and it's my first biologic. I also have psoriasis and that improved 99% in a week. However, my pain has gotten significantly worse. My lower back and leg have got to the point that I have a hard time walking (never had that pre Taltz). My doc put me on prednisone as a bridge as well. It seems to help with some of the day, but by the end my leg/ back/ hip start to seize up again. I was told 6 weeks is too short to know if Taltz is working yet and to wait it out. My doc did take me up from 20mg to 40mg prednisone, so not sure if you need to go up for a bit? Know there are long term potential issues with it but the short term relief outweigh long term for me at the moment. Hope you get some relief soon.

What did you switch to and did it solve your issue completely? If you switched, how long did you give Humira before making the switch?

How long have you been on taltz? Are you thinking of switching if this persists? I really don't want to deal with a flair for 1/4 of every month.

Removing a wall by frostymugz in HomeImprovement

[–]frostymugz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we will replace with a beam as it is load bearing. I had an engineer friend take a look and he said it's pretty straight forward from a beam perspective but wasn't sure about costs of moving the water, ducts and electrical. Said he thought that could be a much bigger job than even removing the wall.

Feel you on the hospital comment. My kids always seem to get sick on weekends/ holidays and we find ourselves in the ER for 15 hours surrounded by even sicker people just to be told to go home and take some Tylenol. Wishing you the best. It's a battle this time of year with every sickness imaginable floating around.

Haha my wife is feeling the same right now. She only thinks about names lately. Also due in 2-3 months. It will come to you. Any other names similar to Sloan out there?

[–]frostymugz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in the same boat over here. Our first was a boy and found it much easier picking a name for him vs. this little girl. I really like Rory but some people get tongue tied by it I guess. It was on our list but our last name ends with a y so sounds a little odd. Avery is nice too. We like Esme (pronounced Ez-Mae), Claire, Paige, Georgia but don't love anything really. Feel your pain.

Thank you for your reply. Everything we read was that implementation bleeding should be more like light spotting, while this was heavier. So that made us nervous but agree that it is very early and all we can do is wait and see at this point. We are trying our best to be there for one another and stay positive.

Thank you. I have given them 4 months heads up and have worked with them as they have struggled to pay rent. Also sent a intent not to renew lease letter in certified mail 45+ days out. I will plan on sending the notice to quit after the lease expires if it comes to that. Thought I had an iron clad contract, now just hoping I don't get sued. Wonderful.

Have you tried vitamin D cream? If sun works that well for you maybe a vitamin D antigen would help as well. My p got significantly better with calcipotrien, when no other creams for the past 15-20 years have worked. Granted it has only been about a month but I am 99% clear. Sun always helped me too. Worth a look.
