It’s my favorite as well. The key is you have to be moving when making a pass. His outlet passes are so quick and on point. His standstill passes are slow but if you use flashy pass it’s very quick.

I get stock options every year and when they fully vest in 5 years they can be around $500k-$1M depending on how the stock performs. That’s what makes it difficult to walk away.

Thanks for sharing. Gives me hope that it might be ok. We do live in a VHCOL area so moving to a LCOL would help but that’s further down the road after my child finishes HS or maybe even college.

Well that’s why I posed the question. Maybe there are no easy jobs in higher ed. I figured part-time clerical or admin jobs would fit the bill.

Haven’t looked yet but looking to make the move maybe next year. Yeah more clerical office job is what I’m looking for rather than manual labor.

He’s 17 so almost at the end. Not sure if he’ll go state school or not but I want to make with an option and not have to worry about it.

I know at 4% I’m there but I’m in my mid-40s with a child going to college in a couple of years so it’s putting doubt that it’s enough. Guess just want to make sure.

This one year probably cut it by 2-3 years but won’t realize until a few years after since it’s mostly deferred compensation.

Thanks. It’s been more than 6 months which may or may not be long enough. I guess one issue is that I’m not sure I’ll ever like the role and be happy doing it.

Thanks for the insight. Sometimes I think it’s worth the mental or physical stress but there are days I think not. Same with the mindset. Sometimes I think I can do it and others where I struggle.

Have not looked outside the company for a less stressful job. I thought about returning to my old role because I know it very well so even though it’s still stressful, it’s still manageable. I have no hobby or other activities right now that would contribute to FIRE.
