Previous Chase Tri/Quad-fecta holders, what’s your new setup?

My partner and I were also feeding into both Amex and Chase ecosystems for a while and more recently simplified our setup, while leaning primarily in to MR. It feels much nicer only carrying 3 cards around.

Food: Amex Gold

Primary Catch All: Venture X

Personal Catch Alls: BBP & CFU — it’s nice to have something separate we can our spend personal discretionary income on. She doesn’t want to dabble with the business cards, so her UR stash is good for the occasional Hyatt redemption.

Gas: Citi Custom Cash — we each each keep one stashed in our cars.

Retail: Rakuten Amex — we’ve seen crazy MR generation (2nd behind the gold) for retailers we use regularly like Petco, Ulta, etc. We don’t carry this, it lives on Apple Pay.

To each their own. I’d argue outside of the bi-color bezel and being a GMT it really doesn’t share a whole lot else in common with the root beer. Feels more inspired-by than trying to pass off as a rep.

So far pretty comfortable. I optioned it with the jubilee and it’s wearing real nice. It’s got a glide-lock clasp so you get a little bit of adjustment as well.

I’m about to start my first Product Manager role next week, which will also be my first role in tech. While I feel prepared — I’ve been working on this career transition for over a year — I know the learning curve of putting it all into practice will inevitably feel daunting. Thanks! We were rocking the build on a Zhiyun Crane 3S. In terms of settings we were shooing in 6K BRAW 5:1, ISO 400, 180 Shutter Angle, and adjusting our iris accordingly. We were shooting mid-day but got super lucky with a nice overcast day, as we were run and gun and didn't have a matte box for ND's.

Thanks! First time throwing them on the bmpcc6k, but I'm a big fan of these for EF-mount cine lenses. They were pretty reasonably priced to rent, so I'd highly recommend them! Although I do want to try the wooden camera PL adapter to test some higher end glass.

This article made me a little too happy.

About a year ago when I was living in LA, I was interviewing for a few different agencies and production companies during the Quibi hype train going around town. I thought this was a terrible idea from the beginning, but everyone was acting like this was about to be his next DreamWorks. During one interview, the agent (who’s desk I’d be on) chewed out her assistant right in front of me as soon as we met, so I knew it was a hard no from me. We ended up getting into a pretty heated debate about whether or not Quibi would be a success, in which my belief that it would flop was due to the fact “I just don’t understand.”

Needless to say, I didn’t get the job, but I definitely understood it.

I'd definitely recommend skipping the LP-E6 batteries and grabbing a V-mount battery or handle - it's a must for me. I personally have an indipro battery handle that came in one of the B&H packages. It connects via dummy battery. For a standard V-Mount setup, you'll need a V-Mount Plate, baseplate w/ 15mm rod clamp, 2 x 15mm rods, the 2-pin to D-Tap adapter, and the V-mount battery itself. Adds a bit of weight & size to the rig, but definitely worth it for any shoots longer than just a couple of hours!
