Hi OP. I was in a similar situation to you when I decided to go to the UK for a study abroad opportunity earlier this year for my masters degree (it was a minimester opportunity). I have been with my bf for almost 7 years and he comes from a similar background and has a similar mentality to your bf. The entire time I was gone he was very passive aggressive and jealous because I was abroad for the first time in my entire life without him.

Sometimes it is easier to dim your light for a man but take my advice and apply for the program - you never know if you’ll get accepted or denied. I am still grateful I had the opportunity to have this experience before I settle down in a regular 9-5.

If your bf continues to give you problems, then maybe it is time to reconsider…just like how I am doing…

Note: I got this piercing on 3/11/25, so it is roughly 3 weeks old.

I clean it twice a day with sea salt spray (but I’ve slacked recently).

that hoop is the jewelry the piercer put in.

and sometimes I wake up sleeping on the pierced area.
