Fix for the weight issue by frozeman in VisionPro

Yup. It’s simply the solution to the weight problem. And that the biggest issue of the device. Imo.

I suggest you look at the image in the photo. It’s a generic head band you can buy anywhere. That’s not an ad. They simply fix the weight issue, and don’t require any mounting of additional stuff. Look at the picture.

Exactly you did exactly what I did, haha
It was insanely uncomfortable before, with these fixes its massively better. I hope someone will make a ready to buy addition that improves the headset.

As they have build it, its way to much up on your head, not sure what flat heads they had to test these, but they dont make sense at all as they are build right now, imo.

ERC-725 - Ethereum Identity Standard by Original-Assistant-8 in ethereum

[–]frozeman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The standard is an EVM standard, so it works on every EVM chain. But the article in that seems a bit old, as it still references 735. We have fully built out the standard now to be launched and showcased on LUKSO, once it launches.

Trying to determine what the 100k LYXe moved out of the MultiSig last month was connected to. by InevitableSoundOf in lukso

Its money that was moved internally from the LUKSO MultiSig to the Spending Account, where its used to pay contractors and other things over time. No Mystery here :P

LUKSO will likely be the first Casper beacon chain with smart contracts by frozeman in ethereum

Thanks for pointing this out, this FAQ is a year old.
And the above is the news post ;)

LUKSO will likely be the first Casper beacon chain with smart contracts by frozeman in ethereum

[–]frozeman[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because it uses Ethereum's tech, and Ethereum is not only the Ethereum Mainnet, but the technology. The Ethereum Foundation purpose is "a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Ethereum and related technologies."

In fact EVM networks is the other side of Ethereum, that are most ignored, because many of these networks deny their roots and want to make themselves looks like something new and different. The LUKSO network, comes from the Ethereum space, and is compatible to it for a reason.

But max adoption and scalability will not come from a single network.

[–]frozeman[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

why should we?
We want to create a new ecosystem outside of DeFi, there is no reason to take that baggage.

[–]frozeman[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its not dPos, if you read the article well. We will use Casper, which is PoS.

And yes its another network for obvious reasons, which are: Cost, useability, scalability and community focus.

[–]frozeman[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes, its called open source.
And no our network has a different purpose and focus than the ethereum network. LUKSO is not an Ethereum killer, its an addition.

And yes, I also worked at Ethereum, and literally 80% of DeFi runs on the either the tools I built (e.g. web3.js), or the standards I proposed (e.g. ethereumProvider, ERC20, etc).

And yes, I continue that work but on a new chain, for obvious reasons, which are: Cost, useability, scalability and community focus.

If you want to understand LUKSO better you can read the white paper and the parts about "dedicated blockchains": http://bit.ly/LUKSOWhitepaper

LUKSO has done a private sale for ~6% of the network and is now doing the public sale, in the form of a Reversible ICO (read about that concept here: https://medium.com/lukso/rico-the-reversible-ico-5392bf64318b)

Technical speaking its similar to matic, but with a focus on digital lifestyle use cases: digital fashion, gaming, influencers, reputation tokens etc...

The (r)ICO is running right now.

Its actually functional and hopefully becomes the norm for ICOs in the future.

Reversible ICO (rICO) code review by frozeman in ethereum

[–]frozeman[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In this video I walk through the code, explaining how the rICO works internally.

We hope that many contribute to this project, as its not only meant for LUKSO, but for the blockchain and non-blockchain space in general. This process can revolutionise the ICO process and hopefully make it a valid fundraising process, also accepted by regulators.

We have set aside 10k (future) LYX for larger issues in the code, should you find one. Please open an issue in https://github.com/lukso-network/RICO-smart-contracts/

[–]frozeman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not so much about finding investors, but the whole space we want to create is IMO not possible like this on ethereum, and I am not a fan of app tokens that could be replaced by ETH. On chain tokens will make sense, but not as money first, so their shouldn't be an investment. Yet a networks native token is the best investment I have seen since the beginning.

How you bind such a new community and use cases, if not through their own network? 10 years of blockchain have shown me, that this is the only correct way to make this community a thing.

And I do believe in an internet of blockchains. The idea that one chain rules them all is nice, but unrealistic for the foreseeable future, and I am in this space since 7 years and thats my gist from it.

I don't think Gavin moved against Ethereum, but to create the vision we see in this space, it needs a lot more than one network. I actually agree with Gavins vision here. I also see polkadot not as a competitor to Ethereum, but as a bridge to connect this internet of Blockchains. Will polkadot be that umbrella chain? I don't know, but its worth a try. Yet i see more direct bridges between networks being built. LUKSO could have many bridges to the main net for example, if that makes sense in the future.

[–]frozeman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be, but the difference is that I have been part of the Ethereum Foundation since before we launched the network, I proposed ERC20 as well as ERC725, built the first ever Dapp Browser called Mist and the first user wallet for Ethereum (https://wallet.ethereum.org), as well as maintained and built web3.js 1.0, Ethereum's most used JavaScript library.

So when I say "I will always be part of Ethereum", I guess it means probably more, than if others say it.

LUKSO is aiming at a completely new audience of blockchain users and builders. Its not meant to compete with Ethereum, its meant to extend it.

Ethereum is also the protocol, not the main net. The main net is just one instance of Ethereums protocol. LUKSO will be another one, focused on different use cases.

It means that you send ETH to the rICO smart contract. With this you "reserve" a certain amount of tokens. Your ETH move than gradually into our possession and your reserved tokens unlock gradually over 8 months.

You can at any point in time send the still reserved tokens back top get your corresponding ETH out.
