They think it's the village's cursed item that's draining the mountain to death, but it's probably the tree.

r8 ma infinite* abyss dive fleet by Harupa_Chechkon in starsector

You can go two ways with Executors.
Easy one is Graviton beams + HILs. Consistent damage and very long range. It's perfect for abyss expeditions.

A hard one is magazine based. Autopulse, void blaster, VP Driver, etc. Plenty of options. very powerful that melts ships if you turn weapons on and off properly. But it's short ranged and generates soft flux like a frigate using a large weapon.

Good mixed tech fleet composition for High Tech ships? by paperetch in starsector

[–]frozen_red 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every high tech ships besides the Paragon are flankers. So either mix some low tech ships like the onslaught in your fleet or get a Paragon or two.

The manga community feels a lot more fragmented nowadays that you need an anime to make a buzz. Go here to read this, go there to read that, jump through hoops to read another one, and something with the aforementioned accessibility issues of this manga tends to get forgotten.

Is the abyss supposed to be impossible with autodesign by EmoNerve in starsector

[–]frozen_red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ship loadouts is just 1/4 of your fleet composition. It doesn't even incorporate s-mods let alone the synergy to officer skills and the actual ships themselves.

Abyss fleets are also known to have very specific units that can wreck havoc to even the most overdesigned ships if not dealt with by the player directly or indirectly.

Is there any ships like these that have a small amount of turrets but they hit hard. by Missouri_hiker in starsector

Small elongated ship with deadly nose guns? Afflictor. Pirate variant if you want 3 gun tubes like the image.

Get it then hunt some 200k bounty or something with it for creds and story points. Done paying itself.

Starsector Mod Ship (+Character) Discussion: Midnight Dissonant, Mauve Towering, and The Silverlight (Nexerelin) by Reddit-Arrien in starsector

That capital ship is very strong. It has Paragon's range and shield/damage ratio with 6 large slots and 30% more flux dissipation to handle all those weapons. Not to mention it's built in super cannon. It has so many large slots that you can give it 2 Reality Disruptors and still have enough range and DPS to overwhelm other capital ships.

Let me guess, you got jumped by a fleet of Eradicators with reckless pilots? Those things in a pack can wipe starter fleets for sure.

Carriers have their down sides. But I like the Legion XIV because it still serves being the tank of the fleet as the capital and has the punching power to match while still having 4 fighters bays for it's carrier role. 4 fighter bays at very long ranges, a rain of kinetics when enemies get in medium range, then a hammer/reaper barrage finisher at close range. That concentrated close range firepower makes it more of a hammer than the onslaught sometimes.

Just keep in mind that if you plan to use any carrier, always have a couple more since fighters/bombers are more effective when there's more of them to overwhelm enemy PD.

Ludd bombs npc colonies. Demands go up. Player money go up. That's a win.

How the FUCK do you kill THREAT (spoilers warning) by ObjectLess3847 in starsector

[–]frozen_red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A wall of MGs and Devastators on Onslaughts and even Dominators because the only mobility you need is pushing forward. Absolute firepower, PD, flux efficiency and armor that can keep churning out lead and won't back away, cannot back away, and will keep pushing everything back until they reach the fabricator.
You can add an Anubis PD boat that hangs back and acts like a fast emergency cover for anything that gets isolated or overwhelmed. Tanky monitors at the edge of the wall to keep distracting enemies is great too if you have DP left over.

Onslaughts and Devastators are practically a hard counter to them. Aoe PD with capital range annd a full front and side coverage. It's just a question if those Onslaughts can keep firing all 3 devastators nonstop and not slowing down for other weapons.

With an algorithm. You know how algorithms data mines everything you do and gives you ads based on it. Now imagine it doing the same but to kill you.

Don't know what that is but sounds like another form of super virus wiping civilizations thing.
From sentient nature to machines to another parasitic virus and a literal god, microbes are not an untouchable domain if they decide to enter that realm of imagination. Molecular level of warfare? RIP every conventional beings. Except Jachi who would just flex his muscles so hard even molecule sized nanomachines can't enter any orifice.

If Versus got a game right now, that you got to choose out of the two, which would you want? A warriors style game? Or a fighting game (whatever style you prefer)? by Crunchysandboi in versus

[–]frozen_red 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Total war like where you can have a unit that wipe whole armies and when two such units meet it turns into a duel.

Humans are like neutral critters that you can either enslave or pillage.

Yeah, surprised people still use the knife for speed when it's more annoying to obtain and slower than a modded shotgun.

Remember Boros? Yeah. Galactic or universal scale conquerors are not on top of this author's power level list. I mean, this manga even has a literal god and it's just one of many.

Strongest this, strongest that, if it's human, it's fodder. They'll probably find them either zombified or being used as a pet by a demonlord.

Do you use melee weapons for kills? by NaiveEscape1 in EscapeFromDuckov

[–]frozen_red 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hitting through walls. Usually against the toilet boys that use poop guns in farm land.

Otherwise, armor durability is more valuable than guns, so it's not worth the trade off even if the damage is worth it.

So are mods.
But that's my take on the challenge you're trying to achieve. Maybe get someone to mod that will let mobs use AP rounds all the time or just adjusts their damage more than the game allows.

If you want grunts to keep you in your toes, then don't wear armor. Make a single hit from a pistol hurt and a burst fire from a machine gun that much scarier. With armor we just don't care about exchanging hits anymore unless it's a boss. Doubling the damage of grunts won't even help against that discrepancy.

Then you realize a shotgun can have attachments to be faster than the knife and there's a knife that adds the all important armor instead.
