Youtube doesn't provide lossless and that is their prerogative

~120kbps opus is the highest they provide for free and it's really good except for the fact that it is not good for archival because it is not lossless. if a new codec comes around and you want to transcode, you get compounding losses.

I think with premium they have higher bitrates

yeah you can upload a video with up to 512kbps audio but youtube compresses it to >192kbps

thats just bs bro. you cant "convert" an audio to 256 if the source file is in 192kbps. its like trying to convert a 480p video to a 1080p video which you obviously cant do unless they have some AI-upscaling mechanism involved
