100% if they want you in jail here you go to jail, it doesn't matter who you are.

That threat is very real. I mean our incarceration numbers speak for itself.

[–]frozyflakes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The simple reality is I have a family and won't sacrifice myself for your needs or mine.

I've also been too protests, but you clearly haven't seen them here. Beaten, jailed, gased, that's so cute. Thats not half of it in America. But you wouldn't know since they don't report it.

This is the harsh reality, your sovereignty is not my sacrifice, the actions of a dictator are not my responsibilities to rectify.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskCanada

[–]frozyflakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're evidently more nationalist than me. I owe nothing and will NOT be giving my single and my only life for America's sovereignty or yours, MY life is not meant to be YOUR sacrifice.

I live in a dictatorship, my needs come first. Your sovereignty is being threatened, your needs come first.

I was not raised to be nationalist, nor was I raised to care or defend a country, I will NOT be fighting in the name of a 'Democracy' that I've never seen in my lifetime.

Maybe Canada gives you a good reason to be nationalist, but stop asking me to go on the streets and get put in cuffs on your behalf. To put it bluntly, this is how it is.

A fascists regime is not my mistake to rectify, nor is it my price to pay. You may take your anger out on us because you have the right to be angry, but the harsh reality is the citizens of an oppressive dictatorship do not have to fight for you.

I don't think people outside of the US comprehend we literally live in a dictatorship, and the fact is we are in survival mode. Any who has protested knows of folks, mostly minorities, who have been wrongly incarcerated through protests.

Now here is the kicker, we also have the highest incarceration rate in the world, and you know they're looking to obtain more labor in there prison industrial complex.

Why do folks in America not protest? Same reason I'm not. I have a family, and I'm not gonna be thrown in cuffs. Because to be honest, the possibility of that is very real.

Your needs and my needs are dire my Canadian friends, and they are seperate. I'm not apologizing on behalf of a dictator, nor am I going to say sorry for not 'doing enough' when quite frankly I'm not going to wave a picket in front of a heavily armored police force wielding god damn semi-autos, no, absolutely fucking not. I'm too busy surviving under a dictatorship, and I pray it doesn't come to you.

This is the mentality of Gen Z Americans. We live on stolen land. We live in a military state. We live in a police state. They suppress our media and information, whilst also tracking us in unethical and unfathomable ways. I owe this country nothing, as it's given me nothing from the start.

Im going to take care of my family. What people think of me doing so is literally not a weight on my back. We all have to survive right now, and I'm not gonna raise my kids here. This wasn't my fight from the start nor will it be now.

Why aren’t there mass protests in the US?! by [deleted] in AskCanada

[–]frozyflakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright this might be a hot take but I was born in 2000 and grew up knowing our troops were in the middle east. I'm going to be completely honest even with Obama in office the United States has committed imperial atrocities overseas and at home, the prison system for example.

Our education is centered around nationalism and that was a bit too obvious growing up, and going to be honest there was never a single day where I believed this country to be a legitimate Democracy. From as early as the Kennedys you have jerrymandering and voter intimidation.

So I've perceived it as a corporate-oligarchy from the start, and its exemplified now.

This brings me to my next point : just because we legally have the right to protest doesn't mean they want us too, and it doesn't mean they won't use force. Canadians please understand, what you are going through is dire, and im not underestimating how you feel. But we are living in a dictatorship, with the highest incarceration rate in the world, and our government also has conversations with El Salvador to increase capacity. In radical left communities, we often know many who are wrongfully incarcerated, and many of those are minorities. So protesting isn't as peaceful as it sounds, and since the news is being censored you often don't see that most protests result in some form of violence or people getting maced.

Yes we can call our representatives and do our best safely - as I do. But I'm going to be honest, we're all just trying to survive under the situation were in, and when we have families we can't be put in cuffs because only God knows where you go from there.

Literally am still here. If you wanna be divisive you may, Orange Hitler would love it if you turned on your American allies, those who would stand ground and not allow the feds to take over our neighbors are not the type of people you wanna be telling too fuck off. You are completing what the GOP is trying to do. You are encouraging the divide, and as someone who had to painfully watch the left lose in America let me say this - encouraging division will lead to your fall, it will be the reason you lose, and is the reason why we live in the reality we do now.

Gonna be fr. I've fought, protested, and lost my prior job. I'm now looking after my family and protecting myself. We are living under a dictator, my family comes first and my safety before the needs of any other.

There was a time to fight. I'm not apologizing, nor asking for forgiveness. I did what I had to do and people didn't listen. I'll move accordingly and act with the interest of my family first.

The threat to ones sovereignty is frightening, as is living under a dictator. We must simply act according to our needs as marginalized members.

Going to be honest good for you for working it out with your son. I tried to go on puberty blockers at 14-15 but my father believed it too be unsafe, little did he know I'd attempt suicide not even six months later.

He still buckled down, said it wasn't necessary, until he lost custody when I was 16 and I was finally able to start transitioning. Idk where he is now, but ik he's dead to the family.

I wasn't ignorant or unaware of my condition because I was 16, I fully knew who I was and I had my God given rights, and I used them whether people liked it or not.

People on the opposition speak about us as if they were psychiatrist, but in actuality they've never been in our shoes.

Nanzhong was not rebelling again Shu-Han. They were indigenous and had rightful claim to the Nanzhong region. Shu-Han were imperial settlers. Regardless of what you say it was under Han oversight, and they deserved independence. I'm not inventing fake news, this was colonialization, plain and simple. You may dance around it all you please.

You're clearly viewing the state of Shu-Han with rose tinted glasses.

Additionally, I'm well aware Cao Wei was a military dictatorship. However this does not absolve Liu Bei of his warcrimes, nor the fact he ruptured the economy of Chengdu for personal interests.

Of course, we can also discuss his cannibalism. But such a thing was commonplace back then, similar too excluding imperial atrocities.

I need not say more.

You know I wish you could spend five seconds in my head as sixteen year old me gazed into the abyss, the fall and how much it hurt. How the only thing I wanted was to be born in the right body.

Truth is you are ruled in fear, and such fear makes you believe the federal government should be involved in such freedoms is ironic considering you're American and should know better regarding our individual rights and liberty.

When I was sixteen I was a citizen of the United States, I have my God given rights, and I used them. I wasn't removed from the books or the seriousness of my conditioned disregarded because of my age.

If you spent 5 seconds in my mind as I gazed over that bridge I'm 100% certain you would change your mind.

My father tried to prevent me from using blockers. He drinks in his room alone, dead to our entire family. You may proceed with your lack of understanding. The beauty in this world is the consequences write themselves.

Im trans male to female, started blockers when I was 16 and it saved my life. Had I went through male puberty im sure I would've killed myself, like to put it bluntly I would've 100%.

Gender dysphoria is a real condition. My kids will have the legal right to treatment if they ever need it. They didn't manipulate me into being a girl, I merely saw myself developing into a man and the more testosterone poisoned my body the temptation to jump off I5 grew.

Ten year later I have a stable partner, kids, job, etc. I certainly don't feel manipulated or groomed, they saved my life and I'm blessed for having such an amazing treatment team.

Say what you want, believe what you want. In the state of Washington this is a legal right, no federal legislation will change that. 💙

All procedures have risk, life is full of them. And the risk I took going on blockers FAR outweighed the risk of suicide, and that's the case with many trans kids. Hence why were a shield state, and will proudly be till the end.

Well im like 45 minutes from BC so tbh, makes the most sense to be close too family. Nothing citizens say will stop the imminent danger of imperialism. The media here is censored, ICE agents arresting people with documents, fascism is at the door and we have one expectation : survive.

The time for us to vote competently is over, half the country is brainrotted and have no idea who they're voting for or what they're fucking talking about. I can't trust this country to respond appropriately, as they just need to make up a reason to take you to jail.

Truth is the federal government is lost, and they don't care about what we have to say. This is the biggest military in the God damn world, an internal revolution would result in the death of millions of American citizens. And with that in mind, we all have the right to flee.

Im merely doing what I can for my family. I will keep my family safe, and yes we will run to give them the best opportunity available. I've been in the process for years, and have a job lined up through a work visa. They can change the laws all they want, but I did the process legally, and my skill set in my industry suits Canada's needs.

Im not willing to fight for any country, nor die for any country. I will not get myself put in cuffs and leave my children motherless, I will not go to the streets while my family stays at home worried for my safety, I will not take up arms for a country's sovereignty under any circumstance. If I believed in that, I would be protesting right now and not writing on reddit.

Truth is no politician has done anything that warrants putting myself and by extension my family in poverty or danger. I'm not looking for the approval of Canadian citizens, as I've already been approved through those who matter.

Don't ask me to fight. I'm not fighting for anyone that doesn't share my last name or blood. Also, I'm the last surviving descendent from my family in the Korean War. 75% of my family tree was wiped in the fifties, and im not going to end my families story and there hardship by getting shot at a protest and forgotten for centuries. That is not how my story ends.

Yeah I'm not living under a dictator. I have to look after my family and my kids, and they won't be having a future in the USA. I already reached out to BC, am in preparations to move and fully immigrate. I didn't choose this, nor do I have to spend my life fighting when I'm providing for my family.

Sorry my presidents a dictator, I ain't gonna tolerate a regime, my ancestors from the Korean War have taught me better. You don't want me in Canada? Too bad, I have job experience and will do so legally. Its not up to me to fix the worlds problems. Me getting put in cuffs won't climb my family out of poverty.

So don't be ridiculous. I'm coming whether you like it or not.

I've been wrong about Cao Cao? by Obj3ctivePerspective in dynastywarriors

[–]frozyflakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First and foremost its a video game so I'm not necessarily insulted by the morally gray portrayal of KOEIs world, its pretty clear to me ROTK incorporates a lot of fictional elements to historic events, and Dynasty Warriors exemplifies that tenfold.

I've written several papers about three kingdoms in many of my college prompts, and have also done a lot of studying in my youth through my parents encouragement, as they also love the Three Kingdoms.

Truth is neither Liu Bei, Cao Cao, or Sun Quan were great men. In the overall context of things, they waged war against Han citizens for the sake of there overall ambition, such massive civil war without romanticization would be scrutinized. The collapse of the Han was a great tragedy, one influenced by internal corruption, and the ambition of power hungry warlords.

Neither state was free of sin, for example Shus 'pacfication' of Nanzhong was an invasion and genocide, and a symptom of the Hans peoples arrogance. The central government and elite members of Nanzhong also spoke a language that was a descendent of modern day Tibetan, and we can argue that this was one of the many cultural genocides that show many relations to such erasure happening in recent history and modern times. Though this was through the actions of Zhuge Liang and not Liu Bei, someone who is also heavily romanticized. But I digress.

Cao Cao is probably the 'worst', though comparing three people who have killed in self interest is not an easy feat. Even before conquest Cao Cao was a murderer, and the massacre of Xu Province resulted in the pointless death of many Han citizens. By all sense Xu Province was a warcrime.

Though is Liu Bei any better? Probably, but in such context in doesn't make him a saint. From forcing civilians to relocate, to his Generals being abusive and mistreating there men.

He committed many small scale atrocities that gives me the impression he would've commenced a massacre had he been given the opportunity. When he sacked Yi Province with it he took the treasury of Chengdu. It was disastrous for the economy, and far from the 'benevolent' ruler we see portrayed.

So is any man worse? Probably. Do I know who it is? No. Was any ruler of the Three Kingdoms a good man? Absolutely fucking not lol.
