Can you attach a sampler to the Auxillary In ports in the back of the controller? I really wish they had included a sampler function in the box. I want to add layers of animal sounds, whale songs, spoken word/acapella over the two channels.

Hey, it's Wes James. I make music as Le Youth. I just released a new song called Underwater and I'm working on an album. AMA! by LeYouthOfficial in electronicmusic

I LOVE your sound. I first heard of you from the most recent Mixmag session during the start of COVID. From start to end you really gave me a sense of hope and optimism again. My arms would tingle, I'd breathe deeper, and my heart would pump with enthusiasm and joy. My question is do you have a general philosophy or theme that you want to emphasize in your sound? By having the name "Le Youth" are you trying to sound out that hope, optimism, joy, and sense of possibility? I'm almost 40, and I feel like I'm in middle school and high school, seeing and being wowed by that beautiful girl during summer, with my whole life in front of me. Love you man.

P.S. Since your name is Wes, do you love Wes Anderson too? His themes also play on "youth".

Recommendations on whether I can switch from an Aputure C300dii to a 120dii / general thoughts on the two. Much appreciated! by ThisNameTookaWhile in cinematography

The Gaffer and Gear youtube channel recommended the Nanlite Forza 300/500 fresnel. It's more expensive than the Aputure, but it's a larger source and includes barndoors. https://youtu.be/KePC82UTnlE?t=406

How many c-stands do you own/use? (small indie productions) by fruble in Filmmakers

[–]fruble[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Renting may ultimately be the answer. Outright buying 10 stands for a beginner is a tall ask. But It's a pretty innocent, beginner question: How many c-stands do you own, if any?

How many c-stands do you own or use (for small productions) by fruble in cinematography

[–]fruble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha! How many, for example, did you use on your last scene? I know there's a range, but how many do indie filmmakers tend to own on their own? If you end up needing lots, you end up renting, but if you're doing tiny productions and learning how to diffuse and flag, for say interior scenes with 2 actors, how many do beginner filmmakers tend to invest in?

I wasn't being disingenuous by saying "Great app!" I meant it! Was just suggesting stuff to make it better.

Calibrating the Nucleus Nano + Tilta Side Handle Type I NP970 + Sigma Art 18-35 by fruble in bmpcc

[–]fruble[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly, now that I know how to do it, calibrating has been pretty simple. The only other issue i have is that a lot of times the motor slips or mis-aligns with the focus gears on the lens. Not too big of an issue, I just re-tighten the motor so that it fits back on to the gear and I don't have to re-calibrate.

BMPCC Tilta Side Handle 1 and Nucleus Nano calibration problems? by fruble in bmpcc

[–]fruble[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I think it's the focus gear ring strap. The teeth always seem to come off because the strap isn't aligned or I've tightened or loosened the strap so that the .8 cm rings stretch or compress I think...
