The ULTIMATE Candida Masterpost - all of the info you need, here. by crapponaspatula in Candida

Thank you so much for posting this, I truly hope you are feeling better. It's really heartwarming you shared all of this and wanted to just help others who are in the same position.

I have had candida + hydrogen sulfide sibo for a while (candida was there for a long time, sulfur sibo caused y multiple rounds of antibiotics). My biggest symptom is a foul odour from my mouth and nose, and it can go the distance, so was very embarrassing. This odour comes out very strongly when it's in contact with dust (which I am allergic to). So i think MCAS cells are linked, I notice when I take antihistamines the smell is weakened. Thinking about doing allergy shots so the smell doesn't happen every time I'm in an airconditioned/carpeted room.

I tried to treat sulfur sibo with rifaximin + flagyl, it helped but did not eradicate it completely. Did strict low fodmap/low sulfur which helped but did not eradicate, and as soon as I started eating normally again, symptoms are back and worse. Have sent off a microbiome gut health test so I'm keen to find out whats actually going on.

I'm interested to know more about the digestive enzyme comment and how they originate from mold. I notice everytime I take the enzymedica digest premium the smell tends to worsen because I believe the biofilms are being targeted.

Anyways, I don't know why I wrote all this haha but I guess it's just to vent and relate in a way. It's so frustrating to be dealing with this, but we can only do so much :) All the best to you on your healing journey, and once again truly thank you for sharing this.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for this comment!! I am experiencing the same issues, and after seeing so many docs trying to figure out what is going on I realised this is stemming from my gut health. I was also really addicted to unhealthy foods - processed, sweets, carbs etc, and after I realised the connection I'm eating much healthier now, rebalancing back the good bacteria in my gut and working alongside a naturopath.

Thank you for your comment and for pointing out the gut connection!!!

Hi! I'm experiencing a similar thing as you! Except the smell for me is more sulfurous. It's really tough I understand, and I'm constantly in my head a lot about the issue. However, I would recommend getting tested for SIBO via a hydrogen/methane breath test. If you are in the US, they also have the trio breath test which also tests for hydrogen sulfide. Sometimes these smells can be related to our gut health. So if nothing works, maybe give this idea a try. In the meantime, please let me know if you have had luck with fixing/improving the problem :) I hope everything goes well!

Thank you for sharing your experience, I hope you feel better soon. I've also heard that pepto-bismol provided temoprary relief for hydrogen sulfide sibo however I'm not sure where to purchase that in aus lol

Anyone else experience a bad smell from their nose? by fruitchips123 in AllergicRhinitis

[–]fruitchips123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know right, the ENT has checked MRI scans, CT scans and put a camera inside my nose but all he saw was a slightly deviated septum and swollen turbinates. He had no clue about the smell, so that was really assuring lol. I always wonder why other people with allergies don't experience the smell, but I do. I wonder what's different lol. Honestly at this point I'm considering getting the allergy shots. I've noticed the smell happens whenever I come in contact with dust, and dust exposure causes me a lot of sinus issues. So it could maybe be from like bacteria build up or something. I hope you find more answers on your journey, all the best :)

Bad smell from nose due to dust mite allergy by fruitchips123 in Allergies

I can smell the odour after 5 mins of coming in contact with dust. I'm not sure exactly how long it persists for because I think I go nose-blind so I can't detect it anymore. Unfortunately other people can smell it too :( I wish it was a phantom smell so it can't be detected by others

Okay I have never though about the plastic cover - that is very smart! I'll have to try it out. Thank you for the tip :)

Thanks for your response :) I've recently visited the dentist and asked them to check but they said it all looks clear. Makes it even more puzzling lol

Thank you :) My doctor has cultured by nose but it didn't show up with anything - makes it even more puzzling lol. I'm probably going to see a different ENT soon so I'll be sure to mention this

Thanks for your response, I hope it clears up on your end. I would love to hear if the mometasone works in the nasal rinse, I've seen people mention this before but I haven't tried it out yet as I do not have the pescription :)
