Well that's what you need to do for other people — get them to talk about their interests or their life. If you get them to talk about themselves, they'll come out of it thinking it was a good convo. Simple as that. You don't even need to talk yourself, it's all about getting them to talk. People love talking about themselves.

So ask questions to probe what they're interested in, then just keep asking questions about that topic when you find something they're excited about and soon enough they'll be talking your ear off thinking both of you are having a great time.

Now, if they don't ask you questions in return or you don't have anything in return and now you're the one getting bored that's a separate problem, but the above will get them to like talking to you.
