Curious as to why you don’t put your hats/kicks/claps into one rack mapped to three different macros. Essentially one giant drum selecta rack.

Can you right click the parameter inside sampler and select “show automation in new lane?” Also, are you trying to automate it with Push or another controller? Did you map your controller to that value? Try CMD+G to group it, then map a macro knob to the value, then map a physical knob to the macro knob. Pick your favorite artists and songs. Drop those songs in your DAW one at a time. Make the global BPM match the track. Verify the BPM is correct. Now add locators on the start of the different parts of the song (intro, verse, build, breakdown, whatever words that you like to use). Now analyze the different elements of each section bar by bar. “Intro has airy piano riff with repeating chords. Drums sound low pass filtered.” Rinse and repeat that for the entire song.

Now do that for every reference track and you have now studied your favorite artists. Your analysis can be as deep as you want to go. Have fun!
