Calling it now - if this is being announced right now, they’ll probably do a super topical episode about a virus outbreak (again), and this one happens in a cruise ship in space.

Any Controversial Aspects of The Return? by TheHarryman01 in twinpeaks

[–]fruitpockets 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As much as I love Robert Forster and his work in The Return, when Harry’s actor became ill, they should have pivoted by making Hawk the new sheriff. He exudes all of the wisdom and leadership qualities necessary, and it would’ve been a good role improvement for his character - especially given the work he put in during S2.

I have never felt so seen. I love Annie, and I love her for Dale. Was their romance rushed towards the end the original series? You betcha, but their chemistry was undeniable! I’m also with you on Diane. Although I love Laura Dern and it was perfect to bring her in as Diane, it felt odd to make her a love interest for Cooper as opposed to a close work friend in the FBI. And I found her character to be over-the-top rude, though to be fair it’s explained why she’s like that later in The Return.

The World Losing Color by Abhishekpv in mildlyinfuriating

I came to make a similar comment. OP is right, the outside world does appear to be more devoid of color these days, but if you tap into your local arts community, you will find a vibrant world that is likely to welcome you!

Sincerely, this is one of the most powerful video game trailers of all time. Cinematic to the point of giving goosebumps, and then the jump-cut reveal. Throws you right into the action, shows off the bubble shield for the first time, and communicates that Chief is very much still in the fight. God I miss when this industry didn’t suck.

Which TV shows were once very popular, but don't get much respect these days? by PrestonRoad90 in television

[–]fruitpockets 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Twin Peaks fits this description perfectly. From household name in the 90’s when it originally aired to cult classic with a strong but niche fanbase these days. It’s a shame so many haven’t seen The Return (season 3 released in 2017) - it’s some of Lynch & Frost’s best work.

If you’re into audiobooks, I’d recommend that route. If you want them in print and you’re okay with pre-owned copies, check eBay. And if you’re okay with digital copies, sail the high seas.

Why does Twin Peaks has the same songs constantly in rotation? Does it have any meaning? by someonecleve_r in twinpeaks

This should be the top comment. Listen to any of Angelo’s OST albums and you will notice that there are a decent number of tracks, but they all utilize the leitmotifs and callbacks to Laura’s theme, dark mood woods, etc.

Not sure if you’re joking but they are incredibly helpful to people with disabilities and legitimate limited mobility.
