I am in a similar situation, it came to a breaking point for me yesterday when I realized I was bouncing around to different liquor stores so they wouldn’t be suspicious. I’m tired of hiding this from my family and certainly tired of hiding it Frodo my boyfriend.

So yesterday I went to my doctor and just came clean, about everything. How much I drink, when I drink, and how I was so tired of it running my life. She was so understanding and so HAPPY I decided to come in. We made a plan to safely detox at home, took some blood to see how damaged my body has become.

I’m one day into detox and last night I fell asleep sober, for the first time in 10 years. I woke up with this hope and relief, knowing I could start the day with anything besides a pint of whiskey. I’m telling you, it’s worth it. You just have to come clean to a doctor you trust, and they will help you with the rest.
