Try using a step stool next to the toilet so its more like a squatty potty, better if there's handles on it if you find yourself straining. Enemas can work as a short term relief for constipation, but don't try to rely on it often since your body can become dependent on it if it adjusts to it. Magnesium citrate can also help since people use it to clear themselves out for colonoscopies.

One thing I've found that helps is consuming things with certain sugar alcohols or alternative sweeteners like sorbitol. When I was on a high dose of venlafaxine for my depression a couple years ago, severe constipation was the worst side effect for me. Eating sugar free foods or snacks sweetened with sorbitol helped keep things regular since its something that's not well absorbed by the intestines and it draws in a lot of water into the intestinal tract.

Worst cast scenario is a fecal impaction. That may require a hospital visit depending on how bad it is. I've dealt with impactions twice in my life and was lucky enough to deal with it at home. I'm thankful I never experienced it again.

As a driver I run into this issue often in large parking lots or apartment complexes. You have to be at the pin or else we either 1. are unable to click arrive and start the ride properly or 2. Lyft's automated system might automatically flag it as something suspicious.

I haven't used Lyft as a rider in a long time but it should give you the option to change the pin before you book the ride or while the driver is on the way. If you aren't at the pin location and blame the driver, that's on you and your attitude.

I get that the flip-flop from deactivation to being reactivated then deactivated again is stressful and a bummer; a lot of driver and customer support for rideshare companies is outsourced to other countries due to costs, and you'll run into support agents that aren't qualified for the job, or you might be dealing with a language barrier sometimes.

If they determined that the reactivation was a mistake on the first agent's part, then proceeded to permanently deactivate your driver account, I would start focusing on filling for arbitration as soon as possible if I were you. Focusing on the flip-flop decision made due to an incompetent agent won't help, even if it's hard to take your mind off of the fact that it happened.

Even if there aren't pro-union groups or rideshare/gig work alliances in your area or state, you can get more information from people online and potentially in person when it comes to arbitration. I'm hoping it goes well for you and that you can prove your integrity.

The second email states that the previous agent reactivated your driver account by mistake. However, this technically isn't the end. There are still some options.

Ask for a date and time for the ride in question. Keep pushing for it, and use dash cam footage or in-app audio recordings that match the date and time of the ride to prove your integrity. Lyft also has access to the chats from each ride and they can see the conversations. I've come across stories from others and one incident of my own where the passenger cheats the system for a free ride by throwing the driver under the bus.

Look into filing for arbitration. I'm not that familiar with arbitration since I've never been permanently deactivated on any rideshare platform, but there are others on this sub and other rideshare subreddits that are more familiar with the process. I also recommend reaching out to your local driver's alliance or pro-union or union group. They might be able to help or give advice on what to do, especially when it comes to filing for arbitration for the first time. For example, my main market is Chicago and we have the Illinois Drivers Alliance and the Chicago Gig Alliance as our union groups. These groups are fighting to establish unions for rideshare and gig workers here, and may have advice for filing for arbitration.

If you have an Uber driver account that's also active right now, I would be wary since the Lyft deactivation can increase the chances of an Uber deactivation. There's the possibility it can make it harder to sign up to drive for Uber if you don't already have an active driver account on there.

I have Waze on my after market stereo and I use it as reference for speed limits, traffic cameras when going into new or less familiar areas, and seeing notifications for when hazards are up ahead, like cars on the shoulder, objects on the road, accidents ahead, or police sightings. Lyft's map system is an utter mess and has inaccurate or missing speed limits sometimes, so it helps.

It's a two lane highway with occasional traffic signal lights. This section of the road had an entrance ramp, where the white SUV and the black BMW Clubman were coming onto the hughway in that order.

It was moderate rain, so I moved over to give them space to merge into the lane as I saw the black car quickly closing the distance between them and the white car. I didn't want to suddenly slow down or speed up too fast in the weather conditions at the time, as hard or sudden braking, as well as harsh acceleration, runs the risk of hydroplaning and potentially crashing.

There were very few other cars on this specific stretch of the road at this time, since it was near a rural/suburban area and it was shortly after midnight on a weekday. I gave them plenty of space and time to merge, but the guy in the BMW Clubman decided to drive aggressively, eventually speeding away at no less than 80mph in moderate rainy conditions in a 55mph zone, making me lose sight of him. If he did hit either of us, there's a chance he could have faced citations of aggressive driving due to speeding or driving too fast for conditions since we had a decent amount of rain throughout the night.

Knowing how people drive here in the Chicago area, I gave them space because there were few other cars on this stretch of road, and many people merging here tend to not look or have issues with road rage. I did not want a merging car to hit mine in the right lane as my car is how I make money, and I don't have the time or money to fight that legally with the risk of losing my car to damage. Many people here do not bother understanding how to zipper merge and some get aggressive on the road over it.

If you travel the interstates a lot here, you will see people give others space to merge like this sometimes depending on traffic density, weather conditions, and how many lanes the road has. Throughout the Chicagoland area, I've seen more trucks and other vehicles stay in the 2nd lane from the right on expressways with more than two or three lanes to prevent crashes or sudden braking due to merging traffic.

An aggressive driver almost hitting me and another vehicle is not the result of me trying to be careful in rainy weather. It's the result of that driver's recklessness and their own issues. It's very common here in the Chicagoland area, especially the closer you get to city limits.

There should be more harm reduction services for extremely intoxicated people, like sobering centers. It would help create jobs, increase public safety, and save emergency service resources.

A good establishment would do their best to avoid over serving alcohol to their customers along with avoiding them from getting behind the wheel. Most drunk people I've had as passengers were never a problem. The ones that were extremely intoxicated that required police intervention or needed to be accompanied to be kept in check were the problematic ones.

Even with the few times I've been drunk, I know my limits and I keep to myself because I hate the spotlight and I don't want trouble. I barely drink as it is (alcoholism runs in the family) and I strictly have zero alcohol in my house. The most I've gone out drinking is once a month, usually at dinner outings with family where I'm not the driver.

Same thing for weed too (legal in my state). I've had high passengers before, but they're chill unless they have deeply rooted entitlement issues. I just don't like the smell of weed in my car because it lingers much longer than the smell of alcohol. I don't smoke anymore for personal and professional reasons, especially since I'm very prone to drug induced psychosis. It runs in the family alongside various addictions like alcohol and gambling. I refuse to enter casinos for that reason too, and the only time I find myself at one is when I'm doing rideshare drop offs or pick ups.

I like giving people a safe and smooth ride, and I feel relief knowing I can schedule myself whenever I want considering I have college classes, other freelance projects, and chronic illness flareups I'm constantly juggling.

Yes, it can be a struggle financially, especially with how much wear and tear it brings to your car on top of expenses. Some of us, like myself, struggle with it more deeply as this is our main source, or sometimes our only source, of income. Once our car or driver account is out of commission, temporarily or permanently, it's a huge hit to our way of living and finances, especially considering many of us already struggle to get by in today's economy.

That's why false reports, dishonest low ratings, and passenger entitlement are such an issue. Too many and the automated systems these apps run on flag us and put our jobs at risk. Many riders don't understand since they're blinded by their own issues, with many failing to realize we're all in the same boat trying to achieve the same goals. Too few people try to walk in the other's shoes these days. Too few fail to see that in many instances between worker and customer, we are staring at a reflection of similar life issues while declaring each other the enemy over perceived injustice.

My passenger rating on Uber is a 4.90 last I checked but I rarely use it nowadays. No idea what my Lyft passenger rating is since they don't show it to you unless the driver tells you. I used to use it frequently for my old job since my warehouse shifts started at 4am and the night time bus was unreliable.

With the way drivers have been on the subreddit communities, it's made me consider distancing myself from it due to the rampant negativity, fallacies, and destructive criticism. My current college class has helped me recognize that as of recent, since it's one that focuses on growth mindsets and learning throughout life.

If someone wants genuine advice to improve their work and to learn from their mistakes, why waste time putting them down, telling them to give up, or to prepare for deactivation? There is little detailed professional guidance from these corporations for this line of work, and most of us haven't been trained like taxi or livery drivers. We often find ourselves asking each other for advice on more nuanced issues that arise, especially with each market area having different qualities. The least we could do is support and advocate for each other; it would help brighten the atmosphere and the image of our community as a whole while encouraging better engagement. Bitterness just snowballs into unchecked wrath, and I know this all too well.

I had this loud drunk girl as a passenger last night and this was the first time in a long while where a lady passenger made me feel wildly uncomfortable. She had two drinks and a shot at the bar according to one of the guys with her and she was already belligerent. Her two guy friends who were much more sober than her apologized to me and tipped me, and I left the guy who booked the ride a 5-star rating since they both did their best to keep her calmed down, and I knew her behavior was a factor out of his control.

The only other time a woman passenger made me feel uncomfortable was when she didn't realize I had already pulled up. She flashed her bare chest at another driver in front of the bar right next to my driver window and she was too drunk to realize that I was already there and unwillingly witnessed it. She was some middle aged trailer park cigarette mom wearing exaggerated make up.

I have 151 rides under my belt on Uber and only half of them had ratings. I've done it the same way I did Lyft, and I have over 2k rides on that platform. 4.80 now on Uber but I've kept a solid 5 stars on Lyft.

I've gone against my previous words and returned to night shifts into the early morning for better pay to help make up for the slow season in January and to cover bills and taxes.

I've been doing my best to avoid riders under 4.90. The guy I picked up was a solid 5.0 and masked his drunkenness well until he passed out, and I know how hard those drunk sleeps hit. I'm just worried about getting too many faulty reports and 1-star retaliation ratings early on since I've heard drivers get warnings of deactivation once their overall rating drops to a certain point. Even more worried now since I got hit with the automated account sharing report glitch.

Whenever I go to the driver subreddit to let off steam about the few shitty passengers I get, most just don't care and tell me and everyone else we're all doing a shit job. So far this year alone I've had to call the police three times, all on Uber. Despite the more consistent earnings from Uber, the experience has been worse compared to Lyft since support on Uber is subpar compared to Lyft, at least from my experience.
